I've got to agree that for the first time in a long time, I watched Gossip Girl live and was riveted from start to finish. Almost everything worked. I kinda sorta (not really) felt a little bad for Ben and Serena - I even felt for Thorne and now that Raina isn't trying to be the female Chuck Bass anymore I really like her. She and Nate are good for each other. He lightens her up and maybe at some point she'll get him to stop living like such a slacker.
Vanessa sucks more than ever. I hate her and her shameless hypocrisy. The way she's trying to put everything she did on Juliet's shoulders! Didn't she try to do that to Jenny first before she vamooshed for the long, refreshing reprieve? I really hope this whole self justification act doesn't win anyone over. I said before that they should just let her be the villainess she really wants to be. It puts her at constant odds with both Serena and Blair and finally gives Jessica something to do.

If I had my phone and a glass of water I'd have done the same thing!

Though I enjoy your articulation and accept that an opinion is an opinion I have to use your comment as a base to say that I completely feel the opposite.
For anyone prematurely judging the Dair kiss, well...you don't know what happened, maybe they pulled away disgusted afterward and maybe they loved it and jumped on the piano to screw. you just don't know.
Personally I would enjoy either outcome and anything in between. These two have really been carryin the show for me these days.
I'm a huge Chair fan and utterly love Ed Westwick, yet I felt that HIS performance and that of everyone else's besides Leighton and Penn's was lacking.
I also hope that Chuck gets his heart broken about this, he deserves it.
Plus I feel like the Dair storyline was one of the only ones (Goodness...in the last two seasons?) that actually built up, every other actory and storyline seems too much...just too muc

The best part of the kiss was the fact that we don't know what they really did and how it ended. So many possibilites. Dair is awesome. The writers did well and I guess Dair is far from over.

What I think of last night's episode can be described in one word: EPIC!!!!!!!!!
Hmmmm, i wonder if serena would want dan now that he and blair have finally shared that kiss, I mean, she always looks like she always wants what she cant have I mean she practically through aside dan for ben, and how well did that relationship end??? BLAIR and DAN deserve to be happy!!!!
BEST EPISODE SINCE CHUCK TOLD BLAIR "I LOVE YOU TOO!"
I swear I had goosebumps as I was watching this entire episode! I LOVED it from start to finish! Ahhhh! And here I thought I was losing my love and passion for the show! Now it's back!!!!!!!!!!!

oh no, chair fans seem upset about dair and they all keep saying "there was nothing" to it. that kiss and their whole friendship and building up to this moment was AWESOME. dair
This was one of the best Gossip Girl episodes since... a longgg time! I was actually on the verge of tears with the Lily situation and the Russell Thorpe and Chuck scene. It was heartbreaking what happened to his wife and really sad that the pillar Bart Bass stood on was completely diminished in one conversation. Chuck has once again hit rock bottom. And once again pining for Blair. Hopefully this time she'll make him beg for her because she deserves better than always just having to pick Chuck up from the bottom and pull him back together. She deserves happiness, too. Though, I still think inevitably Chuck gives that to her.
The rest of the cast was great. Everyone, like people have been saying, had a part. There was a ray of emotions in every scene, there was suspense, and there was the heart of what Gossip Girl truly is... and that is DRAMA.
By far a GREAT episode.

The kiss someone described as a "kiss you would give your girlfriend on a drunken night" even though you aren't gay. The Dair relationship became farcical and became comedic this episode. Chuck, Lily, Serena, Raina and even Nate were amazing and even though the trend has been Dair making the show lighthearted lately, they just belonged on a different planet tonight. Their acting was too forced and contrived. I had to cringe in anguish every time I saw them touch or banter. The repetitive nature of their relationship has become blan and unblairable. Enough.
Ed rocked the drama as he always does. Tonight I remembered what I've always enjoyed about Gossip Girl. The drama. Leave the comedy to The Simpsons.
Aslo there was no emotions in the dair kiss Nuff Said dan and blair kiss so fast like there was nothing there between if there was something there they would of taken the kiss slow or been scared to kiss people say that she kissed dan because she wanted him so bad lmfao what they don't get is Blair said that I'm pretty sure there nothing there blair and Dan kissed wasn't because they have feelings for each other it was just to see that there wasn't any feelings there between them if there was feelings then they would've been afraid to kiss and taken the kiss slowly and that was showing that there was nothing real between them.like I said no emotions at all emotions show that there something real in the kiss Nuff said and I pretty sure when dair fans watch 4x18 there gonna be really disappointed.

I havent enjoyed an episode so much since..well since forever. It was brilliant- everyone had smthg to do and say and add to the plot. Nate is finally becoming interesting - he seems a lil less lost with Raina and NR have good chemistry surprisingly. I also like Raina individually as a character-she is strong confident and has good strong morales. Serena and ben plus mommy sharp scenes werent as boring as they usually are- they were good to watch.I also liked the entire concept of him being with her as it was clinging to the dream. Rufus astonishingly had some very interesting things to do- I loved the first scene and his scenes with Dan(they were funny: I almost had a heart attack when I saw with BW).Dorota rocks- simply amazing to see her with Blair. The entire Chuck and daddy issues are old but for once I liked it -it was different and somehow intriuging. He also realised how important B is to him which to a Chair shipper would be great.Dair simply revives the show- I loved the end t

OMFG! Gossip Girl has made a huge comeback since season three. It's a shame that we're going to have to wait until April for a new episode. I'm really happy with the Dair storyline (something I never thought I'd be saying, being that I've always been a huge Chair fan). It will be interesting to see how the kiss plays out. Do sparks fly between Blair and Dan? Will they be able to maintain a friendship/relationship in the coming episodes? Chuck finally seems to be realizing how important Blair is to him. She's taken a lot of hits from Chuck, but she was always there to support him. Although Chuck and Blair have undeniable chemistry, I think it's best that they stay away from each other for now. Blair is growing up and becoming a more independent woman. She deserves to be happy, even if that means slumming it with Lonely Boy. ;) I'm sure the writers will ultimately reunite Chuck and Blair, but I am perfectly happy with Dair until that moment comes. Hopefully Dair sticks around for a while

SABRINA! I agree with you. Hence what was supposed to be a quote from you below.

With Dan, Blair is herself. She explores her cultural side and her own strengths. She isn't a negative person who is mean to people and just scheming. She still schemes but it is not the core of her character as when she was with Chuck, who seems to encourage it. Sure it was cute to see Chuck and Blair's past time to be a bit deviant, devious, and etc. But with Dan, Blair becomes a positive person. Them together is just light, happy, and relatable. Chuck, sure, was deep and sexy. But really sometimes you just want a relaxed relationship.
She is still the queen but now we see her actually laughing like a normal person and enjoying the company of someone without the heavy context.

I wish the kiss were done better. It was too short and too forced.

I do think, however, that they are a great couple. Please don't make a fool out of Blair. She's a smart, confident woman. With Chuck she's just mean and weak girl. He bring out the worst on her, whereas Dan does just the opposite.
OMG I was SO SO HAPPY with this eppy!!

I have been a CHAIR addict since day 1 but when they broke up for the final time and stopped being together I kinda gave up hope.
And now dair has happened FINALLY!!
I STILL LOVE my CHAIR but I wanna see dair now. we all know chair IS endgame but its time for dair.

I DO LOVE DAIR, but the kiss, for me, was just TOO SHORT and the freezing crap, horrible.
I tought that HE would be the one that "forced" her, for Blair is the one that has more to loose. For her it was just a bussinnes and that sucked. They made it feel award, and I hate that.

The secret was that Bart Bass could have potentially killed someone (Raina's mum) I think it's good that Chuck gets a little dose of his own medicine in the sense that Blair isn't going to wait around forever. It'd be awful if she just suffered while he slept around. Beside comically Blair, Dan, and Dorota carry the show...it makes for good light hearted t.v. Lily's plot is going to be interesting one, CC attempting to avoid scandal, who will take the reins of the Humphrey/Vanderwoodsen/Bass family meanwhile? Rufus? William? CC? Serena?
