Cristina and Owen: At a Crossroads on Grey's Anatomy
Tonight's musical event on Grey’s Anatomy is, as Kevin McKidd puts it, the culmination of the season. But there are still a few episodes to go after that. Big ones, too.
“Everything’s in a state of flux…but I think they’re getting down to the nub of what’s going on between Cristina and Owen,” McKidd tells EW of the next few weeks.
“They’ve been pretty content, but they kind of rushed into something without due diligence [regarding] core fundamental things about how they want life to pan out."
"So there are some tough times ahead of them. I think people need to strap in a little bit because it’s going to get pretty bumpy for a while between these two.”
While he stops short of saying exactly how the pair will be challenged, he hints that the duo's longstanding communication issues will play a part in their upcoming troubles.
“I think he gets frustrated because one thing Owen’s pretty good at is that he’s pretty good at expressing how he’s feeling. Sometimes, if she’s in that frame of mind, she’s not that great at reaching out and saying, ‘I need this,’ or ‘I feel this.’"
"I think that is one of his biggest frustrations.”
“I imagine it’s going to raise some pretty interesting debate. Who’s right and who’s wrong. Or is anybody right? It’s definitely going to be an ‘Oh, my God’ type thing. It’s definitely going to be pretty life-changing for them - the final moments of the finale.”
Whether the polarizing debate results in a breakup or a continuation of the happily ever after they signed up for is unclear, but we can't wait to see it play out.
For his part, McKidd says he thinks the pair is meant to be.
“I think Owen and Cristina, from the moment he came out of that ambulance and they met, they were against the odds. When you look at the two on paper, you think, these two shouldn’t be a good fit, and yet they are. When they’re together sparks fly,” he says.
“I don’t think their wedding was their happy ending, but I think eventually - through a lot of make-or-break moments - they’ll end up old and gray together.”

Please keep Owen and Christina together! I understand all couples have their ups and downs, but it just wouldn't be right if the writers split them apart. If anything, allow Christina to be herself as a surgeon, but soften her heart to be a mother. I REALLY like these together!!! They were mean't to be together from the beginning!!! Don't break them up!! Please :(

i watch to see what other things the show throws at dr. hunt and dr. yang i hope they will make it through it they have made it through so much and to me thats a marrage. so im pulling for them in the show

it's too obviously OC madly in love
I'm glad OC couple's problem could be Cristina with no mentor to learn,not baby or triangle.
I'd rather see new guest coming to play handsome or beautiful cardio attending than burke
I guess Cristina's new teacher in S8 who paly the lover role of Mark or Alex or Apri or Lexi

@michelle fitzpatrick.. I agree if it was like glee then every episode will be singing at less they were not dancing omg that would be threatre musical that will be over doing it but they didnt so yeah.. And i just how mallie baby dont die next episode cause mark was like what happened and arizona had someone died look and she is the pedatric surgeon and when mark said she need surgeon it was on the baby girl and wonder what the baby name is going to be..i like bella for the first name it is mexican and it is normal and it means beauitful in spanish

@Michelle Fitzpatrick : THANK U !!!! aaaaah !! I thought this would never come ! Yes people, stop ! What's ONE or even 2 musical episodes ! I remember others series doing it, no big deal ! it was weird yeah, and that's normal, but making a comparison with glee is really ridiculous. Glee IS a musical series, so different league.
Anyway, Cris&Owen please stay together. lol . And NO, BURKE WON'T COME BACK !

its not glee its only one episode of singing,you all need to get a life and get over yourself seriosly as nearly every show in the past done at least one musicle.

No, when you find the one you found them....... They are against the odds cause they have nothing in common. He doesnt understand her....He wants one set of things...And she wants something different.... He wants kids she doesnt.... that should have been the end of the discussion "I figured you'd grow into it" No. He doesnt know her and he shouldnt try to change her. Why are these two still a couple? Owen is like the one night stand that wouldnt go away.
