I loved this episode, but not because it was a musical. I did enjoy the music, but for me it was Jessica Capshaw's acting that made the episode for me. She was amazing. Sara Ramirez, Chandra Wilson and Kevin McKidd were great. Sara stole the show with the voice, but Arizona was still the most convincing and powerful part for me.

It was bad. Really bad. Worse than seasons four and five bad. Don't get me wrong, I'm a die-hard grey's fan. Even if the seasons suck I still buy them, but honestly... Shonda, why???? Just because Sara can sing doesn't mean Ellen can. (Anyone else notice that Ellen got very little singing time and Sandra didn't sing at all.)
The only song that really worked was Grace. It was shot beautifully and would have fit the episode well even if it wasn't a musical episode.
Please, Shonda, don't do this again. I don't think I can handle Grey's Anatomy turning into "GrLee"

I gotta say it - I hated it. The first song or two by Callie were good as she has a great voice and the songs were familiar Grey's songs but then it got ridiculous. Here lies Callie, fighting for her life and they burst into song, some of them not so great. I thought it detracted from the story line. Some like musicals, some don't - I just don't think it worked with Grey's.

I was disappointed in this episode ... from what I read, I was under the impression that the music side of it all was going to come from Callie's perspective. That it was how her brain was dealing with the trauma, so I expected song from her and from people interacting with her or around her ... which we had for the most part. The cast of couples singing that bubbly song mid-episode, however, did not fit. This could've been a great episode, but I personally don't see it as that. I look forward to non-musical Grey's coming back in a few weeks.

They're not trying to be Glee, jesus christ. Buffy the Vampire Slayer did the same thing with a musical episode. All in all, this went well considering it could have been horrible. It was an emotional episode, for everyone. What do people expect? You all moan an groan when MerDer aren't happy/ together, then they finally get happy ever after and you're pissed because they aren't on the show as much. Hello, no one wants to see them being boring, it's a f***ing drama. I'm sick of this "Glee's anatomy and Torres' Anatomy" bull. Stop watching the show if you hate it all so damn much!

@jr You hit it head on...especially about the song Grace...Mer IS Grace & using it here was, well, sacreligious!

@ Annette Evans Just because people give a bad review doesn't mean "they obviously want" anything...they simply didn't like it. Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to tell others not to hate.
I absolutely hated this episode. GA is not Glee. It is not a musical. It is a medically-themed drama (in case the writers forgot). I have watched every episode- and some are always better than others, but this episode broke the record for being painfully difficult to watch. The music was SO DISTRACTING - it was difficult to even hear what the cast was saying because the music was so loud. What could *and should have* been a tightly-woven, intense drama turned out to be something I do not want to see ever again.

Totally loved it! Amazingly emotional. Great characters, a great storyline, a well placed song here & there and they totally rocked the musical episode. I've heard alot to the contrary... but it's one of my favorite Grey's episodes ever!

When they first announced that there was gonna be a musical episode I had my doubts, but it was amazing! I love that they used classic Grey's songs, which are really special to us who have been fans of the show since its early days :)

I thought this was one of the best episodes of Grey's ever!! Loved the music and it's place in the story. Cried so much! Great way to keep us on the edge of whether Callie would live or die, I really wasn't sure. I was afraid it was going to be another George episode. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!!

Sara Ramirez was brillant! Where did you get that voice; that emotion? Would LOVE to hear more of her singing!

I really liked the episode. I felt like the music upped the stakes and the emotions of the characters. Sara Ramirez was wonderful. I also loved Kevin McKidd and Chandra Wilson singing. They were the only ones who can ACTUALLY sing out of the group.
While, I love Chyler Leigh and that Anne Nalick song, I didn't like Chyler's singing voice though sorry to say.
The Walking on Sunshine sequence was a bit weird, but I guess they used it to inject humour into this VERY serious episode somehow. I think they pulled it off pretty well.
All in all good job to Shonda Rhimes and the entire crew and cast.

Grey's is on of my favorite shows! I like this episode, but am not a big fan of musicals. This time it was ok, but I really hope it's not repeated, I honestly thought it was a little corny!

This would have been a very great, dramatic, ep. The beginning had me tearing up with 5mins and initially I liked Callie singing Where do we go from here.. However as the show progressed and the singing NEVER stopped I stopped feeling any emotions bc it was weird, creepy, and distracting. Please no more musicals

Haters be loco... this was an awesome ep will will go in the annals of tv history... I will bet half the negative comments would have been positive if the drama happened to mer and not callie... Shonda was right in doing this, it may never happen again, but I am glad that it was done... This ep and this show was and is awesome and will remain till the very last ep... And for those who took GA off their dvr list, well good riddance!!!! Don't need such people following a show that has captured millions of people from the get go...
@ TVF staff.... Please post the ratings soon... dying to know how the musical ep did...
