I loved it! Best episode so far this season!

This was the worst thing I have ever seen in my enitre life. I have watched every episode of Grey's but this just sucked. I hope they never do it ever again or I will stop watching. I couldn't even finish that crap. After the first 10 minutes I wanted to bunch my hand threw the TV!

I love this episode so much I watched it twice. Just because something is different it doesn’t make it bad. People are creatures of habit and comfort so step outside of your comfort zone long enough to enjoy something new. The comment that the baby looks like a quail is just ignorance rearing its ugly head. My son was born at 28 weeks and a friend’s son was born at 26 weeks, babies that premature do look very much like the one on this wonderful and powerful episode.

  4. Lost in the 50's

Not my favorite episode. A little too "out there" for me. But I still enjoy Grey's.

  5. Kelly

Just rewatched the ep and still LOVE IT!,!!!!! Can't wait to buy sound track.

I thought it was a great episode. I actually didn't like all of the singing - Sara and Chandra have great voices, but I didn't think the rest were too good. But it seemed to make so much sense, what songs were sung and when, and overall it was so effective that the qualities of the individual voices didn't matter. I wouldn't necessarily want Grey's to do this again, but as a once off it was really powerful and really interesting.

I have always loved Greys and
    think it's absolutelty amazing,
and the music is part of that.
But to make this particular episode
a musical was horrible! I understand
the concept and where they were coming
from in trying this. However, this was
an amazing episode, and it was difficult
and disturbing to watch with all the
    freakin singing!!!

I dont' watch Grey's that much. But it seemed odd that Yang was being stripped to her braw on the stove and singing while her co-worker was dying.
The music distracted from what should have been a very powerful episode.
plus their baby looked like a quail.

I have always loved how Grey's Anatomy uses music and I've discovered so many artists that I now love thanks to Greys but I really did not like to hear the doctors singing. I've seen the Scrubs musical episode and the music made sense because there was a story around in. It just really didn't make sense for everyone to be singing in this episode, nor did it make sense for Callie to say "music" when taken out of the ambulance. A connection should have been made for them to be able to pull this off. Additionally many of the songs seemed completely irrelevant. When I heard they were making a soundtrack it kind of fell into place in my mind why they would include some songs though, to have variation in the album and thus sell more probably. Background music is what Greys does best, it increases the drama, passes across the emotion really well... This just made me laugh and feel embarrassed as well as disappointed. I wanted to feel the excitement and tension about what would happen to Calli

What the hell were they thinking going on with this ?
IT IS TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!! It's just wrong in so many ways. Callie's the only one that's got a good voice, the rest=virus to my ears.
I don't like it. I hope they never do it again, or i will no longer watch this show, even though I'm a HUGE x1000 Fan!!!!

This was absolutely breath taking. I thouroughly enjoyed this epidose. I was in a trance throughout the entire episode. Every fiber of my being was electrified by every scene and every song.I love the ruggedly handsome Owen Hunt and to hear his melodic scotish voice bellowing those beautiful notes...soothed my soul.lol. I loved Callie and lexy..they were brilliant, phenomenal and miranda "little powershouse" bailey was very good. Great work Grey's Anatomy.

All I can say is that my love for PD went through the roof. At least someone had the dignity and integrity to not be involved in this mess.

Terrible doesn't begin to cover how bad it was.

  17. Lynn

i hated the musical. absolutely hated it.

Well I really enjoyed the episode but I don't think they should make a habit out of it. The amount of drama and the way that the songs were integrated was wonderful!

However, it's very clear that some actors are not meant to sing. They seem a bit awkward and unsure of what to do. (Teddy and Owen (although his voice is good) and Meredith).

Overall, I think it was an amazing episode and they did it in a very classy way. Great song choices too!

the concept of music is new to the show, though the musical episode has been done a few times, if I recall correcly, in other shoes (That 70's Show and Scrubs, for example). I don't remember much dramas doing that though.

However, I'm getting a little sick of the out of bosy experience premise in Grey's. Meredith, Izzie and George have had it (though George didn't make it). Can't recall if Derek had one after he was shot. I understand that the writers needed an excuse for the musical episode, but after years of a similar premise, I expect a bit more. It made sense in the episode, but I hope it doesn't become a recurring theme any more than it already has.

  20. steph

Unbelievably good! The actress playing Callie deserves an Emmy for her performance.

  21. Lyndyleigh

Not real crazy about the musical. I prefer just the regular show, so hope the writers don't have this happen again. I watched it, but was bored with the singing.

  22. Dekadent846

Lose the stupid singing. It Did Not work and was horribly annoying. Lose it or get off the air.

Grey's Anatomy has been a great show until that episode..... can we get back to the medicine, please...?!

At least Patrick Dempsey had the sense not to sing. The rest of the actors seemed forced..... It could be seen in their eyes.

  23. Luca

This was an embarrassment to watch. Typically I Love this show but stick with what you know! It was a complete rip off of Scrubs My Musical, except was sooo horribly performed. You could see it in the actors eyes, it was so awkward even they weren't convinced they were doing a good job. Thank you Hulu for your easy fast forward function so I could get thru the horrible horrible musical performances.

  24. Cassi

I absolutely Loved it this was one of the best ones

When I first heard that Grey's was doing a musical, I have to say that I wasn't looking forward to the episode at all. But from the moment that Sara sang Chasing Cars to Grace, Universe and U, then the story, I was blown away by her talent as a singer. It wasn't hard to see why Shonda wanted to do this musical with her Tony award winner. Sara has one of the most beautiful voices that I've heard in a while. I can't stop humming her songs in my head. For the most part I give the other cast members a lot of credit for going along with the musical. Hearing the songs on I tunes made it a lot better to listen to them. I thought at times that some of the songs were cheesy. The acting of JCap was outstanding. She was able to show us so much emotion though out the episode. Mark was his usual ass self. I love Alex's for being the only one to show Arizona support. Where are her friends? Mark telling her she was nothing, was like getting punched in the stomach for me. I know he has said some me
