For all the haters...think about this: There are musical scores in most movies and most dramas, such as Grey's Anatomy. These songs are sung by whoever made them hits to start with on a normal program. They are put there, in the background to help create a feeling. This time, they had the characters singing those same songs in the appropriate places. That's the only difference. It was a fun change, that's all. Not something to happen every week, so get over it. You can like it or hate it, it's simply a personal preference. Anyway, how often do we have a song or two running through our minds as we go about our days? On my wedding day, I kept hearing in my mind, "Going to the Chapel, and I'm gonna get married" And sometimes I even sang a line here and there. Hahaha...now try getting it out of your heads!

I am not sure anything could have been more contrived and painful to watch. I almost quit watching last season but I actually thought the show was on an upswing with the emotional episodes post shooting. But now it seems they have fallen back on bedhopping and

Thank God for fast fwd on the remote!!! This episode was terrible!!!

  4. Carol

I'm watching it right now on my DVR and so far, I have fast forwarded whenever they break out in song. whoever decided to do this should be FIRED!! This is an AWFUL episode. As someone else commented, if I wanted to watch GLEE, I would watch it, but I don't like it. They took a special episode and turned it into absolute GARBAGE!! Hope they don't do this again.

I am a big fan of the show. However, if they do this crap again, I will be a Big X-Fan of the show. I can't believe they tried this. Haven't seen anything this bad since Cop Rock. Incidentally, that show didn't last very long. I watched it once and couldn't believe my eyes. Kind of like last night.

Awful! Some say walk away if you didn't like it. That's what I did after 10 minutes. I do like the series but this was more than I could stand.

  7. Aimee

Hated this episode... I hope they never do a musical event again. This could have been such an amazing episode and I kinda feel like they ruined it.

  8. Bear

I hate the singing!!! If they do this again I will not watch!!!
If I wanted to watch a musical I would watch Glee...and I HATE Glee!!! Way to ruin what looked like a perfectly good episode!

Boring, mediocre and awful!!! Shonda Rhimes has definitely gone crazy!!! I want to get back to season 1 so badly!!! 43 minutes of intense pain!!! Just horrible!!

Some people really just need to get over themselves. You liked it? wonderful. You didn't? Go deal with it. It was ONE episode and ranting and raving about it is as melodramatic as that ep soppusedly was... which they didn't like. Just take it as it is: a one-time thing which essentially became a tribute to the fans, giving us all the songs we associate with GA!
I personally found it pretty good. Most songs fit, some were too corny but well... you never like all the songs in a 'real' musical so there's that.

I LOVED it! I was really impressed by their voices, especially Sara Ramirez (Calli)!

Big fan of the show, but unfortunately not a fan of the musical episode. I agree with some of the other post, the music took away from the characters and the plot. I found myself forwarding some of the scenes (DVR'd it) because it was too uncomfortable to watch. Too corny in my opinion.

I was unsure how I felt about it when I first saw it last night, but I'm watching it again right now and I totally love it! It has a perfect balance of light heartedness (when they sing Runnin' on Sunshine), intensity and heartbreak (basically all the other songs haha). Kudos Shonda Rhimes, I love it! Anyone else like the episode more the second time around??

I don't think there is anything wrong if someone loves it or hates it. To me it really strikes me as a "love it or hate it" type special (obviously there are some in the middle, myself being one of them). I think as long as people were open to what they were trying to do and gave the episode a chance and the actors their credit then you can still be a true fan, even if you hated it.

I thought the singing was beautiful and I enjoyed it, but it was really distracting from the story line which was or could have been so powerful. I am a faithful follower of the show and I'm not saying it wasn't worth an episode, but maybe not again.

The show was very good and the singing was great. I watched it last night and again this morning. Really enjoyed the music. Quite a bit of talent on the show besides acting.

Been trying to find a place to by the cd but everything keeps going to iTunes. Not all of us are at that point so if anyone knows where it can be bought please email me cmj1543@yahoo.com

I've enjoyed all Grey's Anatomy shows, HOWEVER,the music event was the best - a real treat as I was only expecting to hear the beautiful voice of Sara Ramirez - can't imagine what it took to put that show together - can't wait 'til next episode!!!!!!

If they ever produce another "Musical", I will quit watching! It ruined the drama of the show.

  20. GA FAN

it just bad,,, ruin the essence of grey's anatomy,,
i like to to watch grey's as grey's so please dont mix it up with glee....
soooo musical, lack of story,,, it just doesnt feels like the real greys anatomy which is usually packed with nice drama!

  21. Daniel

It was AWESOME.... people who didn´t like it... walk away... I, as a TRULLY FAN of the SHOW not a character(even when I love some in particlar, and hate others) can said that it was a great ep... I cried, I felt their emotions and I loved the songs... I LOVE GREY´S... and I´m sick of people who keep just being negative at eerything!!! If you do not like it anymore, as I said WALK AWAY

TERRIBLE !!!!! You could actually see how awkward some of the actors felt. At one point, the singing wasn't in sync with the movement of the mouths. Too bad, took away from what could have been one of the most dramatic episodes in years. Please do not do this again !!!! It was uncomfortable to watch. Grey's meets Glee? sorry, didn't work

  23. Jim

It was one of the most unforgetable mid-season episodes!!!Great music, beautiful voices, great storyline.I didn't like the part of the couples singing ''running on the sunshine''.Too ''light'' for a drama! But from a wider view it was satisfactory! However I don't wanna see another one...it has to keep its magic! rating?? 9/10

That was the best episode ever... when callie was singing the story at the end that was the best song but the best part is when callie woke up that was so beautiful. And that baby girl was so perfect premature but perfect.. mark was so happy but the song I didn't like was how to save a life when kevin started he messed it up but the rest of the sobg was great.. and sara was the best singer she made we cry when her and arizona was singing in the nicu...

  25. fan of the show

Very good episode but it will be better if there were less singing and more talking. It is better done in Enchanted, for instance.
