it was a little awkward at first but "how to save a life" and onwards just flowed and i thought it was a pretty genius idea. cmon, no other show would have the guts to experiment like this!

The open was strong. Sara Ramirez's (Calli) voice was beautiful and sympathetic to the storyline and perhaps she should've been the only one singing. As a viewer, I was able to hear more of her story through her songs.I felt like she was taking me on a journey. I was touched by it- until I heard another voice.
Once the other actors started picking up lines, it became very awkward and almost comical. It definitely interfered with the seriousness of the plot. Combining drama and song isn't easy but the producers nailed it beautifully in the very beginning and at the very end with the lovely Callie.

DISTRACTING!!! Ruined what would have been a top episode. Is this show trying to compeat with GLEE...well don't. Each show stands on it's own for a reason. Distracting!

This episode was perfect! I absolutely loved it. For the ppl that are giving this ep bad reviews, fyi it was not random singing. Callie was in a state and this was all in her head. You should have expected this, if you didnt like the episode theres a thing called a remote that allows you to change the channel. This was a thank you to the fans from Shonda. Glee is random, Glee is a musical, this wasnt because these songs actually fit with the storyline. So get over it and be happy, geez.
Anyway, happy that mark apologized in his own way to Arizona.
Excited that Callie said yes.
Loved "universe & U" with Callie and Arizona
Loved the emotion in this episode, it was all very well acted/performed. Well done.

I agree that after the first 15 minutes, the singing was distracting. Some of them cant sing, but that Callie chick could really belt it out. Christina needs a miracle bra.

I did not like it at all. I am a huge greys fan too. but the whole thing was just completely AWKWARD. Good drama.. terrible idea.
I thought it was okay, I didn't really expect much. I would've rather there wasn't any singing. A lot of them had pretty good voices. Chandra, for example. I've always loved her voice, and it's cute to see her sing, because she's sort of the mother of everyone on the show, and it's sweet that she would sing to Callie. I also liked Kevin McKidd's voice. Not in How To Save a Life, but in How We Operate, he was pretty amazing, I think. I absolutely adored Eric Dane's voice, and I'm sad that he didn't get to sing more. Finally, Justin Chambers. Whoa. Loved it. His voice was very impressive too.
Anyway, I think the singing was too distracting, I would've rather had the music in the background like usual, than to see the characters walking around and singing to each other like that. The on screen singing was just stiff, I thought. It's not a music video, I take Grey's very seriously, and this episode was just awkward for me, personally. Also, what was up with the scene where everyone was

Loved the singing. Loved the plot. Not together. It didn't quite match putting the songs and intense drama together.

@MarkDW, at the end of the episode Callie woke up and as far as we know the baby was still hanging on. The previews for next week show a fully awake Callie, although the baby needs surgery.

I thought it was awful. I had a hard time following wht was happening because of all the singing. I didn't remember most of the songs. It just came across as corny. I was okay with the first 15 minutes, and then it just got old.
