Game of Thrones Premiere Sneak Peek: The Bleak Midwinter

by at . Comments

Viewers were presented with quite the tease for HBO's Game of Thrones last night, as the network debuted the first 15 minutes of the April 17 series premiere.

A sense of slow-building dread pervades the extended preview, with a near-silent, bleak first scene preceding the introduction of some of the series’ characters.

That's not to say that heads won't roll. Early and often, it appears.

Hard as it is to judge by 15 minutes, the show looks like it will meet expectations and then some, with excellent pacing and scenes carefully depicted throughout.

I can tell this is going to be good! If you hae nto read the book though, you will be lost in that beginning scene. I need to turn on HBO. :)

Cannot wait for this to get started! The books were terrific! If anyone wants to read the books, there's a first-time read-through going on at with Leigh.

Game of Thrones Quotes

Tyrion: Let me give you some advice bastard. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.
Jon: What the hell do you know about being a bastard?
Tyrion: All dwarfs are bastards in their father's eyes.

Nothing isn't better or worse than anything. Nothing is just nothing.
