Patrick Dempsey is filming a new movie and Ellen, did just have a baby...maybe that is the reason for their lack of SL. I agree with a couple of you, though....it is nice that everyone gets a chance to have a SL, and we are not just drowing in MERDER drama!!!

To comment on a few of the comments without using names, let me start by agreeing with the sentiment that these are fictional characters and the show is for entertainment. Yes, the show makes some insightful observations about life, makes you feel, makes you laugh, makes you cry and we can all find small pieces of our own life experiences BUT it is a show. It's a show with a great ENSEMBLE cast and anyone who doesn't like that and is threatening to stop watching it, please do. The first 4 years were so Mer/Der heavy and they are a great couple. But I have been re-watching some of the previous seasons and I am reminded yet again that this show is at it's best when multiple characters get a chance to contribute to the drama. I am tired of the Calzona Anatomy joke. They are a great couple too and at this point they are the 2nd most important couple on the show (next to Mer/Der who will always be the catalyst for the show). It wasn't til episode 11 this year that they started getting

Okay, to the people complaining about a lack of Mer/Der storyline; I love Mer/Der AND Calzona, so I'm happy for both of them, but remember the first 3 seasons or so? When EVERYTHING was Mer/Der? I really don't want to get in a fight about this, but Shonda said the beginning was to get Mer/Der sorted, and sharing the love around is amazing. If you're not happy about that, don't watch the show, simple as that.
As for Mer/Der's decision, I don't think they're adopting, because their scene in the elevator last episode gave the implication that they were going to keep trying. They could be getting married, but I don't think they'd steal Callie and Arizona's thunder after the accident and all; I think it could have something to do with their new home? Maybe being granted permission to build?

Now I wish Callie would have gone to Africa with Arizona or perhaps been gone with the car accident.

I think it is funny that they TV Fanatic crossed off Calzona's Anatomy. At this point they may as well change the name because it feels like Calzona's Anatomy. Makes me think that Ellen and Patrick will not sign on for season 9 and Shonda knows it and is trying unsuccessfully to change the focus. I hope I am so wrong on that because I love Grey's and the ensemble cast but will not watch without MerDer.
I hope we get the wedding that I have been waiting for years. I hope MerDer adopt and she gets pregnant at the same time. I love their chemistry and as someone previously said on another site, they are Iconic!
Oh jeez. No matter what you think or who you ship, it's a TV show. There's no sense in getting up in arms about it. It IS Grey's Anatomy and Meredith is a prominent feature, even with less screen time. These are her friends, and other characters have always gotten arcs. Izzie had the Denny thing AND the cancer thing. George and Callie had theirs, and Cristina has had hers too. The Callie/Arizona thing has run a bit longer, but you have to remember that what they can write and shoot depends heavily on actor availability. If Ellen and Patrick are both tending to their respective RL families, the easiest thing to do is write about other characters more.
Never fear, fellow Mer/Der shippers, they'll probably get more screen time. Ellen has always said she didn't want to sign a second contract so I'm sure if there's a season 8, it will wrap up her time there sufficiently, and I doubt Callie and Arizona will go anywhere.
But seriously, let's stop dogging each other and fictional charact
Oh goodness, let her cross it out or ex it...whatever. It's how she and many others feel (including myself) feel. Is that something that you're really going to take offensively? Kind of a funny thing to get upset about.

I used to like Calzona time but.. CMON people!! There needs to be a limit to it! This is Grey's Anatomy!! Which means to the person that said Meredith could leave... She can't!! She is the main character!! We want MerDer drama! Or at least a baby or wedding! No adoption! Real baby that (I know not the REAL baby from like Ellen) but we don't wan adoption. Screw all you people that think Meredith should leave.

I just think they're being honest. I mean, isn't it Calzona's Anatomy now? Of course here comes the argument that this is an ensemble cast and it's Callie's chance to shine blah blah blah but you don't modify the name of a book to the name of your title character (crazy stuff!) and have critics go that EP & PD are the stars of the show and promote it as such (courtesy of some thinking brains at ABC) for nothing.
I find it funny 'cause it's true. Calzona's Anatomy. Too bad I'm not interested on this show.

Totally agree @Cristinarocks. I would like to think that TV Fanatic can report GA news a little more objectively. I am a Callie and Arizona who finds the cross out offensive. And I don't believe it is the first time.

You dont have to crossed out Calzona's name we all know that the show its call Greys Anatomy. I bet that the Meredith's fan find it funny but Callie and Arizona fans dont. Dont be asshole and focus on given news and spoilers about the show.

Do ANY of you realize that whatever baby they cast, whether or not its MerDers biological baby, or an adoptee will not be the ACTUAL LIVE child of Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey, right? Yes, I'm sure any child that these two beautiful people made would be a stunning child, but still at the end of the day whatever baby they CAST will not come from Ellen's uterus or made from Patrick's sperm. It will be a beautiful baby that some idiot mom is renting out for a few dollars for a "college fund". Yay for stage moms! The way you all go on you act as if they were taking a real, live, baby right away from them. They're actors. SHeesh. NOT REAL. And OTOH, if these people WERE real...... isn't love more important than DNA?

Hello
Just had an epiphany, Season 7 is just like Season 5.
Season 5 was all Izzie and her hallucinations and discovering she had cancer. We all got sick of Izzie being the centre of attention and no MerDer drama.
Now Season 7 is going the same way and is focusing on Callie/Arizona and Mark, as previous we have gotten sick of them getting the attention.
I would like to see Grey's Anatomy venture back to it's heyday that made it so great, it is suppose to be about Meredith and her struggles not everybody else's drama. Let's focus more on Meredith and Derek. We hardly see any Meredith and Derek time, and when we do Derek sticks Meredith with a needle.

Well I know it is television, but in real life you have to be a married couple in order to adopt a child. So in order for Derek and Meredith to adopt a baby they would indeed need to be married.

Ok, enough of Callie/Arizona. I'm tired of reading about them.
We've heard too many spoilers considering the Callie storyline for the rest of the season, Remember Chris and Alex??
I just really want MerDer to have biological baby and get married. I don't have anything agaisnt the whole Callie and Arizona thing, but I really wish they could just tone it down a little and give Mer and Der just a little more screen time. No matter what happens, I can't wait till the season finale!! :D
