Grey's Anatomy Spoiler Pics: It's (Adopted) Baby Time!

by at . Comments

It looks like some photos released for the May 12 episode of Grey’s Anatomy - the second to last of its current season - just shed light on Meredith and Derek's big decision.

Picture this: Mer, Der, Arizona and a baby.

Taking turns hugging an adorable newborn, with Meredith clutching a copy of Baby's First Year, are Seattle Grace's Golden Couple about to become parents after all?

Take a look at the images below and see:

  • Stressed Out Parents
  • Derek With a Baby
  • Derek at the Crib
  • Arizona, Mer and Der
  • Adopting a Baby?
  • It's McBaby Time!

Adoption, interestingly, is a route Shonda Rhimes herself took personally - as a single mom no less - right before she created Grey's Anatomy. Will her beloved couple follow suit?

Also interesting? The following week's finale (May 19) is titled “Unaccompanied Minor.”

What do you make of these Grey's Anatomy photos? Are they what we think - and is it the right decision for the couple? Sound off with your thoughts and comments below!

I'm so over Greys anatomy, everyone has been waiting for met and der to have their own child. So if they don't, and soon, I won't watch it again. This is bullshit, I thought I would never see the day that I hated greys anatomy and now I do.

The whole adoption thing in one or two episodes is just silly For anyone who has ever done an adoption and has waited years and years for a child it is disheartining to see it portrayed this way. As if I was a famous person or a doctor that I didn't have to go through the whole process that everyone else does. I'd like to see it be more realistic than just being handed a baby, that just doesn't happen very often in real life.

Listen They Need To Let Derek & Meredith Have Their Own Baby This Whole thing has been stupid this couple has gone through hell GIVE THEM A BREAK & LET HER GET PREGNANT ALREADY, And Callie Having A Baby How Stupid & Another kick in the teeth for Meredith.Let Derrick & Mer Have Their own family & start showing more medical cases this is after all a hospital show is it not. Really disgusted with this season bad writing & way to many reruns won't be adding this season to my collection so not worth it. Things to change for Der & Mer soon I'm Out & I KNow Alot Of Others Are To.

The twins playing that baby are adorable. I doubt this is the baby they will adopt (unless this kid is around for several episodes and becomes a story line). If it's eventually this kid, I say cool. Shonda will tell a great adoption story line since she's an adoptive mother and will be totally sensitive to the topic. It won't be the ridiculousness that has been the C/M/A baby drama. The baby is sick in some way obviously, but I'm guessing that the kid bonds with Meredith unexpectedly and that affects her (e.g., makes her start thinking about adoption, especially with the Alzheimer's fear looming).

I so hope that beautiful baby is theirs! Meredith was basically an orphan and she has "adopted" her GA family of "strays", so it makes total sense that she could easily open her heart and welcome a beautiful child who needs a parent. Remember how she fought for that little girl with the abusive dad? Derek with his soft heart and love for Meredith would easily take to this too. I just hope it happens.

Moths ago i wouldn't have accepted the idea of a mcbaby without pefect hair and eyes, but now i'm so desperate for more MerDer screentime i would areadyu be happy if they decided to get a goldfish...

There are so many children, of all cololrs, in the wrold that need a good home. Why does it matter that MerDer MIGHT adopt one outside of their race? That little girl is so cute! I just hope Meredith and Derek don't have their hearts broken again if they do happen to decide to adopt the child, and a birthmother or relative comes for her. How cute is it seeing Meredith and Derek holding a babay?

TV Fanatic.....if this kid is a "newborn" then she surely breaks some record for being the biggest newborn EVER!! I definitely wouldn't want to have given birth to her. As for MerDer, I reckon this is a misdirection by Shonda - they look way too happy in these pictures, so something has to go wrong!

That baby is so breathtakingly beautiful and seeing Derek holding her gets me all baby-moody:-D Why is there a problem? "That is just not a MerDer baby" Because of the skin color alone? What a ridiculous line. The Grey's producers has used the blind casting tecnique when hiring people since the birth of the show and I just love how many different ethnicities are being represented. Although I have(as some others) always pictured McBaby being fair-skinned with amazing blue eyes and Derek's dark, luscious hair I don't really care how the baby turns out to look like anymore. I'm not obsessed with the thought of Meredith being pregnant. On one condition: as long as they get their own baby:-D

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
