Dexter to Return to "Roots" on Season Six

by at .

As someone who loves the show Dexter, yet absolutely hated season five of Dexter, the following quote from Showtime President David Nevins makes me smile:

“Dexter this season will be in some ways a return to the Dexter that you’ve seen in the early seasons. There’s a really interesting story and journey that he’s going to be on this year. There’s going to be some degree of getting back to his roots.”

Speaking to TV Line, Nevins also said there will be more focus than ever on the Deb/Dexter relationship, while also confirming that there will NOT be one mail villain on season six; rather, "one interesting story that will move through the season, and it will be cast very interestingly, but it’s not exactly that one person.”

Dexter will return with new episodes in September.

I'm kind of happy that there won't be a whole new villain for this season. I love the villains they have used, but it always seems really redundant by the season end. It's obvious what will happen to them. It would be good to explore a different way of using it. :D
As for the relationship between Deb and Dexter, I think it would be great if she found out what he was doing, but I also think it would destroy the show. Yeah, she loves her brother, but if she found out what he was doing, it would completely ruin their relationship. There would be NO way in hell she'd understand. AT ALL.
