We loved him on Damages last year, we'll see him on Weeds this summer and we'll get even more of Martin Short in the fall.

The long-time actor and comedian has signed on for a multiple-episode arc on How I Met Your Mother.

Short will come on board the sitcom as Marshall's new boss.

Dave Foley guest-starred in this potential role on the season finale, and producers reportedly wanted him back, but CBS picked up that actor's new sitcom, How to Be a Gentleman.

With this casting news, though, it's safe to say the series did not come up... short in its replacement. (Sorry.)
