It's obviously not permanent. It's probably just to get away from everything and relax. They'll eventually return. The show is Gossip Girl - not 90210. Oh God! Please don't crossover!
I hope it will be Nate and Serena. At first, when I saw the last episode, I instantly thought Blair was pregnant. I never thought about Serena being pregnant. After the episode, I went online and read other peoples theories and I think Serena is the one who is pregnant. So, I could see Chuck and Nate going to LA and finding out that Serena is pregnant and then Serena decides she wants to stay and Nate stays with her. It probably won't happen, but I think it would make a good storyline. I just hope Blair's not pregnant. It's too obvious and so overdone. Anyway, I'm done rambling on about it.

I would think it is Serena just because of where she ended up in the season finale. She is after all, getting anew job as an actress or a producer to something that she got right on the stop in 4x22. The second character wouldn't be Chuck, just because he has tthe company to runa nd considering how hard he fought for it with Russell, he wouldn't just let it go again. Blair is out of the question. Nate would be a possibility because that would hinder a SereNate rekindling romance. I liked them together and I though season three did not do them justice. It could be Eric, because he is going to college next year and for his best interest at health, I would think getting out of the city is the best option. New York is only getting crazier. Nothing exciting happens in California. Take 90210 for example.

I think it could be Chuck and Nate,i mean it has to be the 2 of them,because in the spoilers about season 5 it was told that they are going after Serena in L.A,and at the end of season 4 they were plaining a trip..soo it has to be Chuck and Nate:)
