Peter Dinklage Previews Tyrion as Hand of the King, Game of Thones Season 2

by at . Comments

Peter Dinklage is well aware that people adore the Game of Thrones book series.

But the actor who fans adore as Tyrion says he has only bases his performances off the scripts by David Benioff and Dan Weiss.

They "are brilliant writers and that character just popped off the page," he told EW today at Comic-Con. "It was very alive and a character that could have a lot of fun and circumvent the more honorable characters. I’m always attracted to anti-hero roles."

So, what can we expect from Tyrion on season two?

"It’s really fun to see what Tyrion’s version of Hand of the King looks like," Dinklage says. "It’s vastly different than Ned Stark. It’s fun to turn that on its head. He rattles the cage a bit. But in my opinion he’s great at it."

I'd never heard of these books until the HBO series and didn't start watching until it was 3 episodes from the end. (Thank you, HBO OnDemand!) I just started book 4 today. Tyrion was my favorite character in the show and is my favorite character in the books now, too.

You spelled Thrones wrong just saying. ^.^

Game of Thrones Quotes

Tyrion: Let me give you some advice bastard. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.
Jon: What the hell do you know about being a bastard?
Tyrion: All dwarfs are bastards in their father's eyes.

Nothing isn't better or worse than anything. Nothing is just nothing.
