Rookie Blue Review: Crash & Burn?

at . Comments

Are Luke and Andy already up in flames? Wow, that's quick. I didn't anticipate there being trouble in paradise quite that fast - but, then again, I didn't know what to expect when we first met Jo.

Gail Peck Pic

She's a good detective, still in love with Luke and... a possible psycho? Okay, that classification may be a little harsh, but did you see the death glare she gave Andy? And did you catch this exchange?

Andy: So what, you love something you set it free?
Jo: Not me. Me I like to keep the things I love close. Hold them in a death grip and never let them go. | permalink
To summarize: Luke's engaged to Andy. Sam's in love with Andy and Jo looks as though she's had enough of this doe-eyed rookie.

I hope Andy doesn't have a pet rabbit because Jo's beginning to resemble Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction.

Andy's trying so hard with Luke, but Sam's the one in whom she confides. She's engaged to Luke, but Sam's her best friend. He's the one who is there when it matters. It's confusing enough for me to write. Can you imagine living in it?

Poor Sam's in a no-win situation. Andy's engaged. She's made her choice. Sam's trying to be a good friend but his true feelings for Andy can't be denied.  Even Ollie can see it.

Chris' back story's heartbreaking, but I love the growth between Gail and Dov. They're having late night video game marathons and confiding in one another. Even as just friends these two have great chemistry.

The minute Traci couldn't find her cell phone I knew where that story would end. I'm just happy the truth came out. What she's doing is unfair to her ex. It's time to come clean and make a choice.

In the end, Jo's version of Florence Nightengale involves trashing flowers, popping balloons, and eating Luke's chocolates. Much to Andy's dismay, it's just what he needs. After all, Andy makes Luke smile, but Jo makes him laugh.

So, do you think Luke and Andy are going to crash and burn or is my judgement clouded by my Sam and Andy (Sandy?) bias? Weigh in with your thoughts on "Heart & Sparks."

I was really surprised to see Andy/Luke showing signs of fizzling out so fast. I like Luke and he does have a lot of chemistry with Jo (the glare she gave Andy even scared me - maybe a sign of lots of fun to come). Dov and Gail also seem to be good together as friends(?).
Also thought that Dex finding out about Traci?Jerry was a bit soon but maybe she wanted to be found out (subconsciously leaving her phone behind ... maybe). It's also hard to care about Dex when we rarely see or hear anything about him.
Love Shaw - want to see a lot more of him.

Gosh such a great episode. I want sam and andy together. It reminds me to the blair and chuck romance on gossip girl. Its what every one wants, plus its what we've all seen coming since the beginning. Glad to see more on Diaz's life. Like the chemistry between Gail & Dov. its interesting. I just wish sam would step up and tell andy how he feels. i mean, hello even ollie can see it! its like a volcano, building and building.. but whens it going to erupt?! I like jo but at the same time i want to hate her. I like the plot between her and luke but i hate how she treats andy. yes, her comments in this one were very psycho! then when andy saw them together i can understand why she walked out. its frustrating trying to make someone happy and then you see th EX making him happy. not cool. i just am dying for jo's crazzy self to tell andy about the ring. then luke and andy will be over! yes! so excited to see noelle and frank! i like them :) cant wait for next week, looks excellent!

I felt to Sam and Andy after she was rescued. I wanted him to grab her and make out right there!!!

Yay this show is the absolute shit. Love everything about it. I tivo every episode and watch it several times. I love Ollie also and Dov ooh and Frank and Noelle. Of course I love Sandy mostest lol. Highly recommend it to anyone!

this looks like a good show.too bad it's on ABC.other than the soaps, that channel is not watched in my house.

I absolutely love Ollie and wish they would give him more of a story line. He is becoming my favorite cast member and he needs more fleshing out.

Damn this show really is getting better and better. This episode was a "can't blink" one for sure. From Noelle and Frank (!) To Dov/Gail/Chris. I adore Gail and Chris but I know she must explore the Dov thing, but I've no doubt she will wind up w/ Chris. Loved all the Sandy scenes, they make me crazy yet break my heart. BTW Luke and Jo obviously are meant to be together. I want to hate Jo but I like her, fangs and all. It's a drama so there has to be drama lol but maybe Sandy can kiss or more (!) Really soon. Just can't let that hotter then hot chemistry cool off. This show is to damn good, ugh I'm addicted. My boyfriend is to and he approves of this comment lol!

Andy needs to realize that Sam's the one for her- they've got to stop torturing us with the little things like when, in the locker room, Andy's like, "Sam?" but then doesn't do anything. And, Heather, Jo and Luke sleep together in the next one??? How do you know??? I sorta like Jo, hate Luke with Andy, so good for her, but c'mon, when he's in a hospital and engaged???

"I hope Andy doesn't have a pet rabbit because Jo's beginning to resemble Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction." - Hahahahaha. XD Aside from that hysterical quote, it was a good episode overall and it had some pretty interesting depths into the characters personal lives.
I'm glad Chris' character was looked at more, I'm glad Traci was found out for what she was doing wrong, I'm glad Andy walked away when she saw Luke and Jo behaving that way and I'm excited that Noelle and Frank are going on a date!
I am disappointed in the obvious connection between Dov and Gail, because quite frankly, it's obvious something is there and something is going to happen - NO good could come from this. Someone is going to have their heartbroken in the end.

Jo and Luke sleep together in the next episode, so I hope Andy and Sam get together soon..

Rookie Blue Season 2 Episode 4 Quotes

Gail: I would talk to him but you know since I...what's the word, I think it's humiliated Officer Epstein in Death Domain last night.
Noelle: I can respect that. Espstein, all yours.

Seriously, do I look like a tulip guy to you?
