The Nine Lives of Chloe King Review: The Tables Are Turned

by at . Comments

I love how both Chloe and Amy look out for Meredith as she ventures into the dating world with Frank. That Chloe can keep it together for her mom, despite her own heartbreak, says a lot for their relationship.

Elsewhere in "Dogs of War," we discovered a third race, the Jackals. I found it really weird that Jasmine and Alek called Kai an it, and that race collectively animals or things. They didn't recognize the human side of him at all. There was no compromise, even when Chloe made it perfectly clear they would not stop her from returning Kai to his people.

There was a fabulous scene between Chloe and Meredith where the former showed her mom just how mature she has become. Watching their interaction was a beautiful mother/daughter moment that touched upon growing up, trust and love. Skyler Samuels and Amy Pietz couldn't have done a better job.

Amy and Paul, being the perfect sidekicks to our heroine, tried to find a way for her to be with Brian, only to discover Alek had feelings for Chloe. Even Amy looked torn when she realized this, so we can only imagine the thoughts inside Chloe's head as she volleys between the guys.

Alek scored points when he went against Valentina because they had given Chloe their word otherwise. It put them all in serious danger, but it showed how true Alek is to Chloe. It was a lot like the scene earlier this season when he stayed and watched her mom all night, just because he gave his word.

If we've learned one thing about Alek, he does not go back on his promises.

When the Jackals attacked, at first I couldn't tell who had betrayed whom. Kai set up Chloe and her friends, but there was something off about it. He realized his mistake, but not until his dad almost lost his life at Chloe's hands.

She was willing to give up her life for Mai and humans alike - but her strength proved too much even for a seasoned Jackal, something nobody expected. The entire event brought Alek and Chloe closer in a way that would make it hard for Brian to compete.

Even more shocking was how Jasmine covered for Alek. To do that and subject herself to her mother's great disappointment was noble. The writers keep us and the characters on their toes by constantly amazing us with their next move.

When Alek kissed Chloe, my heart skipped a beat. I've been waiting for that moment, and it didn't disappoint. He's like the Spike to her Buffy, or the Logan to her Veronica. He's got that bad boy edge that tugs at my heartstrings like nothing else.

What did you guys think? Was Aloe worth the wait? Anyone still rooting for Broe? I cannot wait to see what comes next. I'm actually giddy with anticipation!

It was a good episode but why didn't the jackals just attack Chloe in her house. Kai could have just called them with the address. And now the jackals can just go over to her house any time.

It was a great episode yesterday! I was a Brian fan, but seeing last night episode and that kiss between Alek and Chloe I'm having to start to have a change of heart! Action and romance in there but I'm thinking that the writers will end up putting her and Brian together at the End because he is her true love! Sorry to say to the fans! That is the directions the writers will be going! Definitely Chemistry between Benjamin and Skyler big time! I'm looking forward to next week episode now seeing Brian shows up again! Definitely love triangle is forming between Brian/Chloe/Alek! Curious how that is going to play out! I think right now she is still upset over Brian and Alek will be there for her to console and comforted her, but I still feel she loves Brian and not alek in that way just as a friend!

I must be the only one who think about Alec/Max/Logan from Dark Angel instead of Buffy and Spike^^

I keep thinking that what will happen with Brian is that he will grow resentful of Chloe and her relationship with Alek--and 'turn to the dark side', if you will. He'll become her enemy--if he can't have her, then no one can--that kind of thing. He'll find out what his dad is up to--and want to join him and The Order. In the end, though, he won't be able to kill Chloe, because he still loves her...

I was saying last night that Alek and Chloe's relationship reminds me so much of Spike and Buffy. and I was a HUGE fan of Spike and Buffy. I really hope the writers listen to what viewers want. I dont mind her being torn as long as she ends up with Alek.

No offense Daniel but jasmine and alek are cousins so that would be weird if she liked him. Alek and chloe are perfect I hope they change it from the books. I don't think she should be with brian

Well I was rooting for Broe but I'm not anymore, they're clearly not going to make Broe work and most people, like 98% people are Aloe, so why would I waste my time. If there was at least good action scenes and exciting major plots I would probably keep watching, but now I really don't know. Good episode though, one of the best since the pilot. A lot of things worked fine, I'm just disappointed the favorite character is another Spike/Logan/Damon. Let's just say I miss watching the "Angels" being interesting enough to get the girl, but I'm not going to be an idiot and say it was a bad episode because it really wasn't (I was gonna say I found it so terrible how Alek let Jasmine take the blame and how it reflects poorly on him, and how, at the same time, I find Alek and Jasmine more shippable than Aloe, but oh well lol), I'm sure every Aloe shipper is very excited so have a good show, yall.

The Nine Lives of Chloe King Season 1 Episode 7 Quotes

Chloe: Tall, chiseled and with an accent.
Amy: Well done mother Meredith!
Chloe: I'll tell her that you approve.

Okay, that was most definitely not normal. That kid's got to get a dentist.
