I love Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey! They both seem like such wonderful nice people in all their interviews. I will be elated when Ellen and Patrick sign on for another season or two. I can't bear to watch Meredith without Derek. If one goes, the other needs to go with. I couldn't handle Derek getting killed off. MerDer are the only reason I watch this show along with Cristina. They are my main reason for being obscessed with this show. No MerDer - No Grey's for me.

I don't think I could ever listen to Grey's the same way I do now if Ellen stays but Sandra and Patrick don't. I mean, I'm Patrick's biggest fan, I just think he's an amazing actor and a wonderful person. And as much as I understand why he would leave and I respect it, I just think that if Ellen stays but Patrick doesn't, that means Shonda would probably make Derek die, and that would just totally ruined all my joy about Grey's, all my passion and everything. Also, if Sandra leaves, unless they make her go away, there's still Owen, so she can't really leave... So that means she'd probably die and that would make Meredith and Owen get into a big depression, maybe have a talk and fix things, then might be friends, do know where the story could go, but having Meredith dealing with Cristina's death would be just too much. I like drama, but too much isn't good. I just want a corny MerDer relationship and a fredh and happy Cris-Mer friendship. I KNOW Greys is a drama medical tv show. But if

I love that Ellen is willing to see how the story will progress before she decides to leave or not, and of course this is all if ABC still want's Grey's running. no one has even really mentioned that idea. they could just decide to cancel it, though i think if they were going to cancel it they would have done it around season 4 and 5 because 1-3 was the serious high point. Shonda Rhimes is a genius, but im just not sure how she could pull off keeping Mer in the story and not Derek. Derek would either have to die (which would just tear me apart) or leave Mer which i don't think will happen after everything they've been through. that would not be the way to end their relationship for good, since the whole show is basically about them.
It does make me happy to see that Ellen is willing to see what will happen rather than Patrick Dempsey just say he was done.
Who knows what will happen, but what ever does, im sure if ABC welcomes Grey's back for season 9, there will be a season 9 and S

i don't remember sandra ever releasing a statement saying she was leaving. maybe it's just assumed because she's hit the end of her contract but so has chandra and nobody's saying she's leaving for sure. honestly, when cristina leaves i leave.

I absolutely love this human being.
She is above and beyond. Katherine Heigl (with all respect to Izzie) took the fame and ran away. Ellen could start making movies, other series, etc.. But no, she decides to stay on the show that gave her the fame because she'd never turn her nose up on Grey's Anatomy. That's a noble woman right there.

I cannot imaging the show without them. that will be the end of it, of my mcdreamy and christina, she is so unhearted but at the same time so emotional. I guess the 8th season will be the last season of grey anatomy...

I wouldn't watch it without MerDer, to be honest. They are what have kept me watching for the past three seasons. I mean, i like other characters and storyline's, but they aren't enough to keep me watching. I tune in every week for the story of Meredith and Derek. Not the other characters. Maybe Cristina, though.
Without them, i can't imagine Grey's would be any good anymore.

Oh, and another thing: Meredith IS the main character! Come on! I've never heard something more stupid than the idea of putting Lexie as the Grey of "Grey's anatomy". I liker, I really do, but that's STUPID! Mer is the protagonist and will always will forever and ever

I don't think anybody will watch the show without either meredith or derek. Shonda thinks the program is able to go on without any of them but she is WRONG! Must of the people who watch Grey's anatomy this days is because of MerDer, including me. They would loose the few raiting point the have if they do this stupid thing. In my opinion, the both of them can handle the show without the other cast members, but those cast members can't handle the show without them

I don't want to see Meredith and Derek separated or Cristina leaving.
What are the ABC suits waiting for? Bribe Sandra and Patrick into to staying with a raise!!!!!
As long as at least three of the originals plus April and Lexie stay I'm willing to give Grey's a shot (as long as it doesn't become Calzona's anatomy!!!!!)

Yes where is this article that says Sandra is leaving???? worst news ever if that were to happen.
I love how Ellen says she wouldn't turn her nose on GA. At least she acknowledges that Grey's made her career! unlike her dear friend Katie who thought acting in a horrendous movie with Ashton Kutcher was better than playing the sometimes annoying Dr. Isobel Stevens Karev. I hope that Patrick stays for another season or so because if she were to kill him off to carry on Mer's story... I think there will not be a single fan out there...
Maybe in some ways, they should end GA sooner than later so Shonda doesn't have to create weird and impossible stories for them. The show's premise was Mer's life through surgical residency. And I like that they used three seasons for 1 year. They shouldn't have made every season a year. Oh well, I look forward to another season even if it has a musical ep (insert BlackBerry Messenger Can't watch smiley)

Um since when is Sandra not coming back? Has she said she wasn't??? Where is the article for this??? All I knew was that Ellen and Patrick might not come back, I did not know Sandra was considering leaving as well!!!

Mer without Der- A Big no no. Lol:) I think if Ellen decided to stay, Patrick would take it into consideration also.

I can't imagine Grey's Anatomy without MerDer! Cristina I don't mind that much and yes I believe it will be a good storyline (meredith dealing with christina's absence). But if the show's producers decide to use one of MerDer, might as well use none! I wouldn't watch the show either way! I would if the couple continues together!

I think Meredith dealing with Cristina's absence would be a an interesting story, but honestly? I don't want it to happen! cause there's no Grey's Anatomy without the twisted sisters.. and also there's no Grey's Anatomy without Mc'dreamy!
If it does happen I don't want to continue watching, but I probably would..you know, once a Grey's junkie, always a Grey's junkie.
Oh and for the record, I miss Izzie and George!

I can't imagine Meredith without Derek. Although I agree with her that if Sandra Oh chose to leave, Meredith dealing with that absence will be a good story. I think I'm just relieved that Ellen Pompeo is more than open to continuing the show despite the end of her eight-year contract.

If meredith stays without Derek it would be awful! It's like star wars without the skywalkers, like friends without ross or monica or any character, like desperate housewives without any of the ladies... I prefer both of them to go that watching them sepparated!!
