Once again the theme is being there for the one you love, something Kate told Rick before, something she always wanted from others but could not or would not see in Rick. He was always there for her. It was funny to see they both are counting the times they saved each other, and know, even in banter, they belong to each other, they are soul mates.
And Alexis dumps Ashley who isn't there physically or emotionally., further supporting the theme. Rick and Kate are there for each other and that is enough. Good example Alexis. Recognize Dad's and Kat their commitment.
Kate's fear for Rick, trust in his assessments and actions shows her awareness that she needs him and cherishes him.
A kiss before they enter Rick's home would have been private and meaningful, showing so much of their relief and desire.
I loved the moments Kate has, just seeing Rick' many sides. living and confident, and she would do anything to save him.

A great episode. The writer accomplished several things:
-Got us out of the station and away from the vic/suspect board for a change
-Alexis got rid of Ashley and the last vestiges of Stanford and reacted in an adult way when Castle asked if everything was OK.
-Martha got an ego boost even while a hostage
-Not once did Castle look like a boob doing something childish
-Beckett showed her "core of steel" as a cop - her mom would be proud - but also some indication there maybe some cracks beginning to appear in the wall she has built up in her mind to keep Castle at arm's length.
-The writer missed a perfect opportunity for a hug and kiss when Beckett was unlocking Castle's handcuffs in the vault and was in his "personal space". When Martha interrupted, Castle leaned back into the wall with a disappointed look seeming to way "there went my chance" I think there was a collective profanity from Castle viewers in all 50 states at that moment with no embrace. The writers know they

Honestly, they should color coordinate the titles, like Fringe does, to denote one universe from the other - with Castle it's "Traditional" vs. "Edgy." As an Edgy show, this was better than 'Rise' - and right there with kick the ballistics for the dark episoides. The best, because of how it used all the leads well. Does anyone know the deal between Alexis and Beckett? She seems unsure, like she's still angry with Kate for bringing her dad into this dangersous world of crime.
Some thoughts. Castle as a natural leader. Something one wouldn't expect from a writer, especially a playful one like Rick Castle - but he's a 'partner' to a cop, and so he did what was needed of him. But this is not something he's just got from working with Kate, this is a deeper part, something he always has been. (Maybe it's one of the things that makes him part of the Beckett, Esposito, Ryan family - he leads when he has to - on a "traditional' Castle, something would happen to make him scream like a littl

This episode was stellar, but honestly Castle is always stellar, it's like NCIS even the off episodes are good compared to most shows!
Badass Beckett. Seriously that girl was giving me chills and had my chest swelling up with pride. I think I was rooting her on very loudly. She was awesome, and MY favorite line (of many awesome lines of the night) was her first one. " I don't look. I hunt." You tell me that baby didn't give a person chills!
Badass Martha. I've always been a Martha fan so I never took issue with how she was used in an episode really. I loved her serious side in this though. I love it when she gets serious and maternal with Castle and she did just that w/o being overdramatic, and kudos to her for offering important little facts to Castle for the case and the people...little investigator of her own that one.
Badass ( I know it's redundant but there was loads of badass) Ryan and Esposito. I love my two fave bros (and dammit I look forward to the boys having fun ne

I much prefer Caskett to any other moniker we could give this couple!
I think this was one of the strongest episodes this season. I actually really like the fact that it wasn't just the hostage situation, but that it was more complicated and there was an actual homicide. The plot was really good. I think just being hostages would have been a bit too cliche. Martha ROCKED this episode...every line, every scene she had was just so well played!
The Caskett moments were great - THIS is the Kate Beckett I've been missing all season! Finally we have bad-ass Kate Beckett back. "I don't look, I hunt." That was a great line! The whole speech that Kate gave to "Sal" was really meant for Castle, and I thought the smile they shared in the vault was actually pretty perfect. It wasn't an intense, contrived look, but just perfect. They were in public, obviously happy to see each other, but I think also really grateful to be alive. Castle also had his mom and Alexis to worry about, it reall

Caskett is definitely a much better name for them - apart from the fact that it combines their two names SO much better than Beckle does, it also has the clever play on the fact that they work with dead bodies. Plus, Beckle rhymes with heckle and is just ugh.
Ok guys, I agree Caskett is perfect for Halloween but we have had lots of comments from the viewers that this name is no good. Beckle was one of the more popular. Let's talk it out fans. What shipper name do you want to use? The one with the most votes is the one we will use from now on. Ok go!

yep this is what I've referred to as 1 step forward and 2 steps back for our pair at the moment we're at the pinnacle of the 1 step forward but I don't know if they are going to fight, love triangle etc or, as I've observed of late in Eps, work them with Ryan and Eps.
I think the sensible idea is to knock off the love triangles and angst and for character development on a whole for the team bring in Ryan and Eps maybe even that awful Captain more.
Also the meaningful looks between R/K need to evolve into something else as in real life if all you do is look at someone with no touch or meaningful dialogue it will quickly dissipate.
I know the writers are trying to convey a message but what they have to understand is that meaningful looks usually evolve into something like touch or devolve into nothing.
I mean if all your going to do is share meaningful looks with a guy or gal and that's all then whats the point?

And Carissa, that's very clever -- can't change from Caskett on Halloween! Good one.
The ending, Castle taking Beckett home to dinner with his family, reminded me of a phrase from the season opener of NCIS last year. "Will you come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly." Castle is drawing her in, in slow, easy increments. The look on his face in the vault when Martha interrupted was reminiscent of many interruptions the two have suffered the last couple of years; we are going to get very accustomed to that look, unless the show runners decide to speed up their schedule of not getting them together until mid-season next year.

Love the program tonight, Martha played the role well, the inevitable Alexis breakup was fairly obvious and frankly she is better off without him.
Small moments between Beckett and Castle were reasonably well done. The body language between Beckett and Castle has improved. Was really hoping that they would avoid the whole issue of is she/he the boyfriend/girlfriend topic.
Noted that while Kate avoided the question Rick didn't (rolls eyes) I would have preferred if he'd just change the subject and avoided answering directly. The shipper in me was hoping for a kiss in the vault but at least there w
