Hawaii Five-O > Hawaii Five-0 Review: Together Again > Comments Page 3
I don't really care for Lori, was interesting to see the mixing with NCIS Los Angeles although i would have liked to see more of them there like Callen or Sam since Steve owes him a steak dinner. The repertoire between the two former seals would have been interesting. The last thing I remember seeing Joe in was NCIS where he went nuts & before that on JAG. I really like this character for him.
I love Lori! I think they are starting to develop her character nicely but I think they are grooming her to become Steve's love interest and she will probably be killed off by Wo Fat soon. I think it would be nice to see the softer side of Steve. I disagree that the dynamic between Steve and Dano has been compromised. They still have there thing going on. Glad Kono is back. Didn't like the little side trip she took. I hope they develop Chin's relationship with the doctor. I think they need some love interests for these characters. It helps them seem more real. What happened to Rachael and Grace? It's like they don't have lives outside of 5-0. It's not realistic.
They can dress Lori up they can dress her down w/e but there is NO way they will ever improve her acting skills and character - get her off the show already and bring someone in who can actually act like...c'mon this woman has the personality of a rock...wait a rock has more lol
Loved the episode and I think asking questions is what got the poor old man killed; but WoFat is ultimately to blame.
focus on the show's main characters and story lines more - bring in the big guy and kono as well as Steve and Danno...where the heck has gracie been? :(
seriously get rid of the blonde bimbo and bring in someone who can act and has a personality! or none at all....
The whole show was great, but my favorite part had to be seeing Steve in his boxing trunks...yum!
Loved it!...WoFat_Joe scene was nice twist! I just wanna know, from the ladies out there...who's butt is nicer? Steve or Danno!!!
When the ratings keep going down and this show fails everyone needs to remember it is the WRITERS not the actors that are to blame. Instead of adding new useless characters to the show, why not add new writers? I do like Max-he serves a purpose. Joe is good but I think he's heading for a spinoff. Lori is irritating and useless. I feel sorry for the actress-hope she isn't watching herself. I would be embarrassed.
I certainly don't agree w/Jim G thinking Lori is a win/win. She brings absolutely nothing, zilch, zero to the show. She can't act and has the personality of a wall. Her only skill is being annyoing. Alex Kurtzman isn't winning any converts over to Lori - if he has a brain, he'll write her out completely. Danny and Steve and Chin and Kono, as the team, make the show. They have a great dynamic. And, with the exception of Steve, Danny, Chin and Kono are being sorely underused. The best scene last night was Danny being true-to-form with the empathy he showed for the 14 yr. old boy. We need to see more of that. The show is not old enough to have so many changes made to it. The writers really need to keep developing the current stars characters before adding so many other extraneous characters (especially Lori) - last season's writing was so much better. Very disappointed with the season so far.
Lori was better acted this week, Ill give you that - and yes, she's covering up more. Her obligatory weekly "mesh with a team member to show how well you're fitting in" scene was not as painful as last week's Chin meet. But she still irritates me like no one else has on the show. Of course she's a Muay Thai expert, she's an expert at everything. She doesn't need the Fab 4 with her, she can be Hawaii One-0 all by herself. And is she going to ogle Steve in every episode? Why don't we have Kono develop a schoolgirl crush on Danno too? Then they can have fun lunches and discuss their men.
I'm just grateful (and surprised) that the best scene, Danno rushing to the victim's son, wasn't given to the caring empath.
The promo hype is better than the actual episodes. Kensi was on for what - 3 minutes? And all she came up with a lot of tantalizing tidbits that will never get mentioned again, and one word. True, it'll be an important word, but .... that's it????
Joe is getting too shady
michael i think you are about the only one who hates ziva on NCIS
More of Joe, Please! I am a big fan of his! That fight scene was fantastic, he held his own and obviously surprised Wo Fat. It was worth watching the show just for that fight... Yes, I agree that the bromance between Danny and Steve needs to come back even stronger than before, it's a very important thread that keeps the show strong. Strong relationships between the characters in a show are what make it successful. The 5 characters( 5 with Joe, he needs to stay) in this show are fantastic, work off each other very well and are interwoven. If the writers are having problems coming up with good ideas with interaction between these 5 excellent actors I would suggest that the producers need different writers because you won't find better actors.
So it sound like Hawaii Five-O has it own Ziva type character in Lori because a lot of reason that people are hating these Lori character is the same reason a lot of people hated Ziva from NCIS.
I don't have a problem with Lori, I have a problem with her taking presidence over other team members. The Danno/McGarrett friendship has been pushed aside and McGarrett is with Lori half of the time. What happened to his resentment towards her? It lasted one episode. Why was she backstage at the match instead of one of the other 5-0 members that McGarrett should be closer to? I was very glad when Danny appeared backstage. He belonged there, not Lori. She has been pushed to the front and Danny, Kono, and Chin Ho are in the background now that Kono's "issue" has been solved. What about Danny? His ex-wife ditched him (again). Where's Grace?
I hate that Kensi was only there for one scene. I was really looking forward to her being in the episode. As for Lori, I don't hate her. I just don't think she is a ever going to be a permanent member of the team. If you want to bring someone in for a few episodes, fine, but any ensemble show like this is delicate in terms of casting. Kona, Steve, Danny, and Chin are the main team. They got lucky bringing Max in more, because he fits well and we don't see too much of him. Besides, I really resent that Lori continues to be showcased as a potential Steve love interest. Is it even necessary? I know the guy is gorgeous, but can't he date behind the scenes??
Kono didn't appear in this episode until 20 minutes into the episode. That's freaking ridiculous. I hate when a show introduces a new character and takes up all the time from the other characters. Having said that, Joe White has been PHENOM. He had an epic fight scene with Wo Fat and they are using him just the right amount. Now if only they have more scenes with him and Chin Ho. I'd be happy. Kono has been CRIMINALLY underused this season, even with her BIG storyline. She popped up in scenes but never really contributed to the episode's narrative. And Chin-Ho and Danny have become supporting characters to what I thought originally was an ensemble show has become the McGherrett show with back-up dancers.
Great action tonight. But seriously??? Do I really need to see Lori in the 1st 2 seconds of the ep??? WHY are the writers/producers shoving her down our throats. And they had the nerve to say that she is so good in martial arts?! I am sorry but that was hilarious! I haven't even seen her character kick or punch anyone. That is not believable at all.
I'm sorry - I don't get what you see with Lori at all. She still adds absolutely nothing to the show for me. This was the first episode where she actually pitched in with some 'profiling' info on the case, and she's not even doing what she is supposedly there to do - act as a watchdog for the team. It was Kono's first week back with the team and she had very few lines and screen time, which was disappointing. And they never really showed how Lori and Kono interact with each other as people. Who cares if there is only one girl on the team? It doesnt matter to me what the male/female ratio is, as long as there is chemistry between them. Definitely a missed opportunity for some great mcdanno scenes during the fight. I'm losing interest fast.
I agree with all of you. Last night's episode was a complete let down for me. If you blinked you would have missed Kensi. I wish I could blink and Lori would go away. Her part last night was so stupid I actually threw my remote contol out of frustration. The dynamic is so out of wack. Kono and Danny are forced into the background now. This show is not the same as last season. Are they trying to commit show suicide? If you want to kill anything, kill off Lori, PLEASE!!!!
I gave this show every chance. I'm going to dvr it now. This episode was all hype. Kensi was in one scene for less than 5 minutes. What the hell was that? Also it seems like Danny is now in the background and Lori is Steve's mate, again what the hell is that? Danny should have been with Steve before the fight-not Lori. What does she know about wrapping his hands? I'm over the show. This just pushed me over the edge. I will watch it but not live. It will be taped and I'll what it when I get a chance a day or so later. I am so pissed right now. They took a fantastic show and made s*** out of it. The ratings will tell and I do believe TV Guide was correct, like it or not.
I liked it very much but a few points bother me like always.
The opening scene pisses me off, why was Lori handtaping Steve? where was Danny really she needs to go ASAP!!
There was a murder and goz no Kono at first we had to wait till 13 min when she shows up with a scar from the shooting last week and once again Noooo welcome or apologies from Steve or Danny.
HOLY SHIT!!! Steve and his sweaty smokin' hotness he looks STUNNING!!!
Seriously. could look at him all ight *drooling* There are no words for how FABULOUS!! Alex O'Loughlin was in this ep. Hands Down great great job Alex!!
Sorry to say this but I wished Wo-Fat had killed Joe don't trust him anymore!!
The way Joe started blaming Steve for Mokoto's death? Yeah, I really wished Wo Fat had killed him. For me Joe and Wo-Fat shares some things about each other for sure they met before why o why would Wo-Fat comes to Joe?
When Joe say's to Steve "If you continue to go down this road, you have to ask yourself, how many l
To answer your question directed at anti-Lori fans, well my answer is still no good. I hate that she is being forced upon us continuously and when one angle receives poor reviews, they try to force her another way. The sex kitten business angle didn't work, so now they are trying the tough, tomboy, she could be Mcgarett's equal angle and guess what it still doesn't work! Can we please just get rid of her?
I have a few problems with Lori, the first being she changes the dynamic of the team and the show and not in a good way. The team was perfect just the way it was. Secondly, do we really have to have a love interest s/l in the forefront? Can't it be in the background like Steve & Cat were? And if McGarrett must have a gf can we please have someone who actually has some chemistry with him? Hell I saw more chemistry between him and Kensi in one scene than he has ever had with Lori. Lori is not a good match for Steve in any way, she isn't a good match for the team, and las
this episode did not flow at all. It's like there's too many little random subplots going on that don't really make for an exciting hour. The Wo Fat bit was not even addressed until the last seconds, which is a writing fail. Also, Why bring in Kensi for one minute? There was too much hype surrounding her visit. She should have been more integral to the whole episode. Why wasn't she? The writers are not able to juggle this many characters-that's why. Writers--Get rid of Lori, please. You struggle with giving her lines to say that don't mess up the team dynamic, but it all comes out sounding lame and annoying. I hope Lori is collateral damage, and that Jenna is undercover for Joe or the governor. If Lori turns out to be the true one working for Wo Fat, I will forgive the writers for this character. I have started fast forwarding through her lame lines, and last season I did not have to do that with any character. This episode (and all episodes) would have been better without
As someone who does like Lori, I have to say I don't appreciate having her shoved down my throat in this episode. Honestly, if they want to convert more viewers into Lori fans they need to use her in a way that enhances the other characters - such as giving her more storylines with the underused characters of Kono (how about a scene where the ladies bond and joke over having to use their sex appeal when going undercover?) or Chin Ho. The way they presented her in this made it feel like she was taking screen time that would have gone to Kono and Danny. The bromance between Steve and Danny make the show and Steve/Lori is a poor substitute!
I have to agree with some that Lori is a tool. Nice to look at with little substance. I thought the episode was kind of weak. I knew the brother in law was guilty when they visited the gym. The gun in the Jeep was an obvious plant.
As for Wo-Fat, they better kill him or he's going to kill the show. He's becoming like Haskell on CSI. Enough already. The mystery with Steve's father is the hook.
I think Lori will develop into a love interest for one of the two white guys, first, and it may be season finale when wo fat and Lori and others are killed off from the show. Before that they will likely show that Lori Weston and Malia Weston are related. Other villains will emerge later in the season to continue to the next. Whatever happens, I sincerely hope they dont try to whitewash the show by removing the two main Asian characters.
I also think they are building up to Lori being killed by Wo-Fat. Joe warned Steve about "how many more people will die because of their questions..." I think (hope) that was foreshadowing. I also like the show focusing on the original 4. When you add too many extra's it takes away from the 4 main characters interacting. I loved last night's show, however.
