Memphis Beat: Canceled!

TNT will not be revisiting Jason Lee and the southern precinct of Memphis Beat again: the network has canceled this drama after two seasons on the air.

“The network thanks everyone involved in the production of Memphis Beat for their work on the series, including the great cast and crew,” TNT said statement this afternoon.

This cancelation follows a similar fate for TNT's Men of a Certain Age and HawthoRNe, although the network does have a string of hits.

Rizzoli & Isles and Falling Skies fared very well this summer, while a second season of Franklin & Bash was ordered and The Closer returns on November 28.

Come on TNT, get off your duffs and bring back Memphis Beat. It was fun and quirky, and D J Qualls aka Barney Fife was really great, as were the rest of the cast. Although I like Leverage a lot, it is starting to drag a bit. The music portion of Memphis Beat kept it lively all the time. So Ted, get your act together and bring it back...yall here!!!

my wife and I looked forward to Memphis Beat every week. I can't believe they cancelled the show but ordered another season of Franklin and Bash. We watched Franklin and Bash three times and it is a terriable show. I don't know who is in charge of these shows but TNT is not a network we currently watch; I am tired of enjoying a good show and then it is cancelled. I will stick to the shows like NCS, Person of Interest and Blue Bloods, etc.
I will pass on shows from TNT.

I loved Menphis Beat and kept waiting for it to come back on. I thought that it was a shame that we never got to hear the end of the songs that Dwight sang. I really liked his singing and thought that was one of the best things about the show. The characters were really great also. Why do networks keep crapy things like reality shows on and get rid of the really great shows?

TNT had only two shows worth watching; Memphis Beat which was great, and Leverage which is ok. Now I'll watch TNT only if there isn't anything else on or on my dvr. TNT, you made a mistake canceling Memphis Beat and it will cost you a viewer.
