by at . Comments

Nick Jonas and Bernadette Peters are both looking to make a Smash on NBC.

The young singer and the long-time Broadway star have both landed roles on the drama - which premieres on February 6 and which is the best new network show of the 2011-2012 season, according to a certain TV Fanatic Editor-in-Chief who was fortunate enough to watch an advanced copy of the pilot.

Jonas, known in the acting world for his work on Disney's Camp Rock, will stop by as Lyle West, the network announced today, describing him as “a hot sitcom star who started his career as a child actor in a Broadway show."

Peters, meanwhile, has agreed to portray Leigh Conroy, a one-time “theater sensation” and the mother of Megan Hilty's Ivy.
