@tvnut014: that's because the actor playing the russian boss was actually Michael Cerveris aka the observer from fringe.

PS... "really"... ?? I'm starting to wonder about Det. Carter myself. What is up?? She's a great actress, but seems her talents are being wasted here. Hope she develops as well... or I'll probably fall asleep. Thx.

Oh man I thought I was seeing things. The Russian boss at the end DEFINITELY looked like the Observer September from Fringe. I was confused for a second. Then remembered that it was Thursday and Fringe isn't on today. D': Anyway, good episode! I was getting a bit tired of hearing Reese whisper all the time, but it's good to know that his voice can go up an octave!
However, I REALLY want to know why Finch has that limp. I WANT TO KNOW!

I agree with the other posters that this show is finally coming into its own. We're finally having some clever dialog between Finch and Reese which reflects their growing trust and changing relationship. It is very cathartic for the audience to see immediate payback given to the bad guys. No cases lost by police screw-ups or procedural errors by lawyers. Just good old-fashioned frontier justice! On another note, I think the real problem with Carter is she is not a very good actor and therefore not very believable. I just can't see her in a position of authority. I hope the numbers are high enough for this show to continue. I think it is worth it.

Still love the show, only thing is I still don't see why they put in Decetive Carter, they are in a big city and only one police person has noticed and is trying to catch them. Don't think so. That part could be written out and not missed or put more of her in.

It was a great episode, I love the show. Carter strikes me as a modern Inspector Girard hunting and obsessing about Dr Kimball. (The Fugitive, 1960's TV not the modern film)
This show is really enjoyable and clever, which makes me nervous. Rarely do shows I enjoy go long term and not get cancelled. To get longevity you usually have to be an stupid sitcom or an evan worse "reality" show (which has nothing to do with reality).

I loved this episode as well. They finally reached their stride as a show and it's officially (although it's been for some time for me) the best new show of the fall season. Jim Caveziel's badass vigilante is awesome. He's so badass he doesn't need a nickname : ) He's enigmatic and I never know what to expect from him. One thing I knew for certain this week though, as long as a kid was involved he would do whatever it took. I like the development in he and Finch's arrangement. It's gradually moving from a partnership to a mutual respect and eventual friendship. The diner scenes really honed in on that and I loved it.
I have to agree about Carter. She does not seem like a threat at all. I can't be convinced that she'll ever come close to catching Reese so everytime she appears it's like the band that plays during intermission while everyone is up getting drinks and snacks and the REAL band is changing costumes. It's a shame really because I happen to like Tariji. Fusco put some life

I agree - their best episode so far...it felt like they're finally figuring out the formula. I loved how they jumped right into the case versus Reese shadowing someone for 30 minutes. I also appreciated how they didn't make the deadline - I honestly expected Reese to find Sam and the lady not be acquitted. I'm still not 100% sure where they are going with Taylor either. It feels a like they are heading in the right direction when they added Fusco to her department. Hopefully that will gel soon. Best new show thus far and the only one I'm continuing to watch.

Funny how everyone is saying this was their favorite episode yet, because that's how I felt too. Alot easier to follow then the previous ones. I have to say my favorite part was when Reese thanked Finch for giving him the job. A nice break from them always talking business.
I'd like to thank TV Fanatic for awesome recaps of all my fave shows. I love reading everybody's comments.

@Art - Thanks for the song info. It really was a great way to end out the episode
@Sue Ann - Reese, the hero, looks relatively unhappy because he lost the woman he loved and has become rather cold because of it. That said, he's finding purpose with his job and he looked a lot worse at the beginning of the show.
@bbbb - I'm glad you were able to catch that. I thought they were Russian, but couldn't remember if it was mentioned or not. Certainly very cool that you can read and understand Polish without those subtitles when Reese was speaking. I believe the actor, Jim Caviezel can speak a few languages. Polish might actually be one of them.
@cha11 - I'm glad you found TVFanatic as well! Happy to have you here. It's great when people come to discuss a show with their thoughts and opinions. I certainly love reading them.
@Sandy - I agree that the characters make this show. I just wish Detective Carter had something more to do or at least some background. As for the others, very

Still number one new show in my book. Really enjoy Reese/Finch interaction particularly when they are testing each other. Carter is just distracting, do not like her and find that story line tedious and boring, on the other hand, I do like Fusco's part in each episode. Reese and Finch's characters are intriguing and look forward to learning more about them.
This was a great episode! I'm really liking this show ... a lot. I'm liking Reese and Finch (and the actors portraying the characters)... a lot. It's exciting without an extreme amount of gore, which I can do without. That's why I love the shows on TNT and USA like Leverage, White Collar, and Burn Notice. They give me action heroes and excitement without horribly graphic gore.
I think this is the best new drama on a prime network this season. I'm starting to really look forward to Thursday night TV, the same way I look forward to NCIS Tuesday.
By the way, I'm happy to have found TV Fanatic. You do a nice job, and I feel comfortable writing comments.

They are not Russian, they seem to be a fictitious ofshoot of an actual Polish gang from Warsaw called Pruszków Mafia by the media. Also, the crowned eagle on the chest of Leon Turski is the national emblem of Poland, which (being Polish), I find extremely offensive. The Pruszków Gang has nothing to do with nationalism or patriotism, they're just bandits, and making them revere Polish national symbols only soils the symbols. Having said that, I have to actually commend Reese speaking Polish (he said the name of the gang, and watching without subtitles I was able to understand, which is almost never the case when American actors try to speak Polish). Also, the articles on the gang on the computer screen are in Polish and well prepared - fictitious of course.

I have not seen all of the episodes, but this was the one for which I managed to stay awake. It was well-written, and the action followed a logical path. I was less confused than usual (staying awake does indeed help ...). It was nice for once to see a deadline pass without having someone save the day with one second left on the clock. I have been seeing that since at least the original run of the original Star Trek, and it is old. The "not guilty" verdict was a pleasant change, which led me into wondering how they were going to get out of this fine mess. I thought it was very well-done. I originally saw this show as a way to not miss The Mentalist by turning off the TV, but I am learning to appreciate it for itself.
Can anyone tell me why the hero looks so very unhappy? I think I missed that somewhere.
Art.
