Revenge Round Table: "Intrigue"

by at . Comments

Revenge upped the mystery and suspense ante on this week's "Intrigue," as Frank inched closer to the truth and Declan sealed the deal with Charlotte.

How did our Round Table panel react to the latest thrilling hour? Find out below, as Leigh Raines, Christine Orlando and Dan Forcella weigh in on an installment that actually did not include a Victim of the Week...

-------------------------------------------

Did the lack of revenge by Emily put a damper on the episode?
Leigh: I don't think it dampened things, if anything I felt it brought a lot more to light. We said last week that there's no way Emily could keep executing these perfect plots. Now it's messy and it's more fun to watch.

Christine: It was different. A little slower paced but I still enjoyed it. If all Emily did was execute perfect revenge plots we might get bored. There needs to be some curve balls thrown into the mix and Lydia's fall and the fallout has certainly served that purpose.

Dan: Yeah, I liked that it is going a different way. It reminds me of Justified's fantastic second season, where Raylan dealt with one off situations during the first six or seven eps, and then the rest dealt with the Bennetts.

Revenge Round Table

Is Emily letting her emotions get the better of herself, as exemplified by her scathing words to Tyler at dinner?
Leigh: Was Emily trying to intimidate Tyler or protect Daniel or both? She did get a little emotional and Tyler is a bona fide psycho, so that worries me. Before he didn't like her, now he's actively pissed at her. I feel like she handled the emotional situation with Jack better. Even if her eyes (and mine) were welling with tears.

Christine: Maybe a little.  If she wasn't willing to go in for the kill, she should have held back. Now he knows he has an enemy and he'll be looking for his own revenge.

Dan: It seems as if she let things get the best of her for a brief moment. With Tyler, and now Frank out for her, Emily might be in a bit of trouble in the near future.

Do we have any better of an understanding of what Tyler's end game is?
Leigh: Tyler wants to be a Grayson basically. He has no money, he lies, he wants in and he potentially even has feelings for Daniel.

Christine: Other than he's crazy? Not really. Is he obsessed with Daniel or does he simply want to replace him in the Grayson empire? Either way, he's willing to do anything to accomplish his goals.

Dan: I didn't catch on to the "feelings for Daniel" Christine mentioned in her review, but that wouldn't surprise me at all. This dude is fit for a straight jacket, and I'm still at a loss for what his exact goal is.

How will Frank fall out of the picture?
Leigh: It's going to be really tough to get rid of Frank. I think Emily and Nolan will have to go to dangerous lengths they weren't prepared for.

Christine: I like Frank so I'm hoping he sticks around for a while.  But if he can't bring Emily and Nolan's heads on a platter to the Graysons, he may have to leave the country for a while until things cool down.

Dan: Frank is getting murdered, probably by Conrad's hand.

When Will Lydia wake up from her coma?
Leigh: I don't know how to answer this because I don't even know how Lydia is still living after that fall!

Christine: Who falls five stories and lives? She'll come back at some point or they would have simply killed her off.  I'm not so interested in when as in what will she remember and who will she tell.

Dan: Seriously! What the h-e-double hockey sticks does somebody have to do to get rid of this woman? She wakes up the episode after Daniel gets shot, I say.

Frank MIGHT sacrifice himself, to save Victoria, so maybe he takes a bullet for her, or something similar. Tyler is psychotic. Wanting to be Daniel is my first guess; he's not gay but he wants to be 'one' with Daniel--physically close but maybe not intimate? in a sense--necessary, in order to 'be' Daniel, maybe? Of course, they may have experimented back in school, but Daniel moved on, and Tyler didn't...

Did the lack of revenge by Emily put a damper on the episode?
No I think it was necessary to explore the things it did. Like Frank's devotion to Victoria, Tyler's weirdness, What happened to Lydia. Is Emily letting her emotions get the better of herself, as exemplified by her scathing words to Tyler at dinner?
Somehow I think it is all about of her act. I cannot believe she would bed and date the Graysons son without it being apart of her overall plan. Do we have any better of an understanding of what Tyler's end game is?
No, no clue at all. My options are he's in love with Daniel or he wants to be Daniel but I honestly couldn't care less about his storyline he wasn't seen in the first five minutes of the Pilot so my guess he dissappears pretty soon or he's the one who shots Daniel. How will Frank fall out of the picture?
My guess is the seed of doubt is already in Victoria's head about Frank and his intentions so she wont believe anything he has to say. I think in the end Frank will kill himself realising he did so much for someone who cares so little.

Come on, we all know when Lydia is waking up: when the networks determine the advertisement prices for the next period of time for the maximum revenue.

Also- The lack of the Revenge did not put a damper on this episode, but I felt that the lack of excitement did. Maybe it was needed after the CRAZY last episode, but that very episode("Guilt", BTW) proved that Revenge can make AMAZING television, without a single "Revenge" storyline("Guilt" was easily my favorite episode thus far).

"I think Emily and Nolan will have to go to dangerous lengths they weren't prepared for." Producers DID say that the upcoming episode is a game changer that brings the "Revenge" to a whole other level. @ Christine "Who falls five stories and lives? She'll come back at some point or they would have simply killed her off." First of all, read here (Man falls 40 stories, crashes onto parked car, and lives. www.foxnews.com/us/2010/09/01/... Second, I agree. If they wanted to kill her, this would have been it. I say she comes back with no memories of the past events(such as discovering Emily's lies). Lastly, On Tyler, the producers said the thing with him is that he wants to BE Daniel. I do not doubt that he has feelings for him either(I've been sensing a gay vibe since the start), but he is obviously pushing himself as the golden child while helping push Daniel out of that spot.

Also, season one ends with Victoria getting poisoned, and season 2 we find out she is in a coma.

Also, Daniel ends up in a coma as well.

When Will Lydia wake up from her coma? Some have likened Revenge to a Soap Opera. I do not watch them, but I do know a bit of the twists and turns they take. I never saw the comparison.
The moment I heard she was in a coma, my first thought was: Bull! Soap Opera moment. Like a Soap Opera, Lydia will wake up at the opportune time for the plot to advance. If Emily needs help, she might expose the Graysons. If Emily is on top, she might try to expose her.
The writers have a sleeping interchangeable plot device that they can spring up when they see fit. Also, since it is already the Fourth Of July, does that mean that the flashforward scene will be around episode 13/mid-season finale? I'd say the cliffhanger for a mid-season is Lydia waking up and saying Emily, or Grasons, or Frank.

Did the lack of revenge by Emily put a damper on the episode?
No, in fact, it gives this fresh feeling. The story of taking down a person every episode gets boring. It sets up an arc for the next take-down. Let's just say, I'm feeling sorry for Tyler. Is Emily letting her emotions get the better of herself, as exemplified by her scathing words to Tyler at dinner?
Wait, I think that's on purpose. The Jack scene, on the other hand. Lame! Team Danily all the way! Do we have any better of an understanding of what Tyler's end game is?
I thought Tyler's gonna plant one and go to first base with Daniel. But, I think the whole end game is to be paid attention to and be loved. How will Frank fall out of the picture?
He's gonna be killed. Conrad will be the one. When Will Lydia wake up from her coma?
Urgh, the whole idea of surviving after falling from five-story building is ridiculous. But I think she's gonna wake up in near future. Maybe next two episodes?

Not at all it made it better, because now someone knows something is wrong ith Emily and they will try to get revenge on her, it's getting juicy now that things are getting twisted. Is Emily letting her emotions get the better of herself, as exemplified by her scathing words to Tyler at dinner?
she was testing tyler. Do we have any better of an understanding of what Tyler's end game is?
hes gay When Will Lydia wake up from her coma?
When Emily needs the most help, I think Lydia will wake up and expose what conrad and victoria did.
