Sons of Anarchy Round Table: "With an X"

at .

We have few rules at TV Fanatic, but this is one of them: when a SAMCRO member is gunned down by a fellow SAMCRO member, we gather for a Round Table discussion of that episode as quickly as possible.

Such was the case on "With an X" and such is now the case below, as Matt Richenthal, Dan Forcella and Christine Orlando dissect the action...

-------------------------------------------

What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Matt: Clay making the deal with Romeo. I actually rewound it because I didn't believe I heard it correctly the first time. And, yes, also because I have a serious man crush on Romeo. I admit it.

Dan: My favorite scene was definitely when the prospects played Russian Roulette. These kids are risking their lives for the club that they love, and Clay is so easily willing to off one of them because "sometimes you need to thin the herd." I hate Clay.

Christine: I loved Jax and Opie's conversation about the consequences of screwing around with Ima. Tara being knocked up and kidnapped bought Jax a pass but he wouldn't recommend that route. Ha! That's so warped I couldn't help but laugh. Second favorite was Juice killing Miles. That was just brutal.

Is Chibbs on to Juice?
Matt: Of course. And their conversation makes me wonder just how binding these rules are. When it comes to a loyal member, and a piece of his history beyond his control, can't the charter treat the rules more like guidelines? Come on. It works for pirates, and they've been around a lot longer than motorcycle clubs.

Dan: Yes. He may not know for sure, but he definitely suspects at this point. If Chibbs couldn't tell that Juice was scared out of his mind during their heart to heart about the Sons rules, then I don't know what's going on in his head. The question now becomes if and when Chibbs will bring the issue up... and to whom?

Christine: Oh yeah. Definitely. He's got no proof but he certainly suspects Juice. Now we just have to sit back and wait to see when this comes up again.

More likely death to result from Clay's assassination plot: Clay, Tara or Unser?
Matt: I'm still say Clay. I believe this season is building toward the ultimate confrontation between step-father and son and Jax will take out his quasi old man in the end.

Dan: Eventually Clay, but first I'm going to go with the no-named assassin that Romeo sends Tara's way. Something will inevitably go wrong, and that dude will go down. I'm giving Tara the benefit of the doubt and saying she will somehow surprise him and take him out in order to protect herself.

Christine: Out of the three, I'd hate if it were Tara because I relate to her more than any other character. I doubt Clay will go down any time soon, although the bastard certainly deserves it. I was shocked that he'd so easily take a hit out on the mother of Jax's kids. I'll be surprised if Unser lasts past this season. Whatever happens, you know it's going to be good.

Should Tig have given his daughter the money?
Matt: Sure. What else would he have spent it on, Mexican hookers? It's doubtful anything she is mixed up in is worse than Tig's world.

Dan: I'm not sure how much money Tig has to just throw around, but if he's doing well for himself I don't have a problem with him using that cash to buy his daughter's love. If she's so crazy that money is the only thing that will bring her back to see her father, then kudos to Tig for realizing that, and using it to get to see his daughter again when she needs more. It was kind of a sweet moment for the Tigger.

Christine: I think he should have found out the truth about why she needed it. She's obviously in some serious trouble and maybe he could have helped her with more than money. Other than that, I don't completely blame him. He wants to maintain their relationship and this seems to be the only way to do that. That's sad, but it's his reality.
