My biggest issue with this review, and at times others is that the writer never seems to know the show very well. Or pay enough attention. The Lexie Stefan scene was VERY believable. It is common knowledge that when a vampire is in its weakened state then another vampire can get inside their head. Damon did it to rose before she died, he did it to Stefan before, because Stefan fed on animal blood, and was therefore a lot weaker. And it has been done a couple other times. So even though I agree that the episode was overall crappy. the Lexie/Stefan/elena scenes were the best parts for me. I loved seeing how Lexie detoxed Stefan. And I loved seeing the mental breaks in him.

overall i did like the episode..yes random lol but they they are ghosts they can appear disappear lol.. my big issue was where was tyler.. and where was rebekuh or however you spell it.. you know she's in town, so she couldnt just be sitting under a rock.. they shouldve showed her taking tyler out of town or something in the beginning so it wouldnt make it so strange... 3 major points in this ep... jeremy learns he needs to let go...elena learns she cna't keep doing this forever... and mason helped them uncover a chapter into the lives of the originals.. lol everything else was overkill but i will say i enjoyed seeing my long lost faves.. and cmon anna finding her mom at the end.. that warmed my heart

I actually liked this episode very much. Was it a cheap way to bring back a lot of dead people? Sure, but that's all done now. I loved seeing Lexi again, she's so sassy and full of spunk, I love her. Mason'return was actually very good. In th epromo for last night's epi, they made it look like he was out for revenge, but instead, he showed he was still the good guy and just wanted to help people get rid of Klaus. Don't know how he's not holding a grudge, but I admire him for it.
I loved seeing minor characters like Frederick. Was it neccesary? No, but it connects this season to the first season, showing us they're going back to the pace of that season. Anna and Pearl's reunion was really beautiful.
Th eonly thing that bothered me was Bonnie. She seems to be completely obvlivious to the fact that Jeremy has lost all of his loved ones, but Elena, in the past 2 years, and he didn't get to say goodbye to any of them. So when Anna is suddenly back; of course he can't just turn his bac

I loved the episode.YESSS it was not typicall tvd with everything going on but it pretty much tied up loose ends.TVD IS DONE WITH THE GHOST.And they've done that beautifully. And the end?MAAAAN was awsome.except the obvious cliffhanger which is Alaric and Damon thing they way to Klaus' demise i think the not so obvious cligghanger was even more great.i mean the talisman which eventually did not destroyed.i think taht She's back.THE ORIGINAL WHICH.2 days ago i heard [SPOILER ALERT]that they cast a girl to play to play a vamp-witch.i also love the scene between Anna and Her mother.i knew her anna's ending all along when it comes to her staying in the world but i did not want to leave it and being alone.but when i saw Pearl.OMG.I cried...got to admit!!!Anyway, opposite propablly to half of the TVD fandom i thought the episode was acbsolutley excellent.i gave it 4.5/5 because there was no original involved and actually i love them so much (yes i mean rebekah too) that that was kinda a let
dunno what u think but i love this episode! i love lexie and mason and anna! they shouldn't be killed in the 1st place!

I love lexi but this episode bleh.Okay I love bonnie and jeremy but jeremy really?if I were bonnie I will turn him into a toad. Please stop w the triangle VD writers everyone seems to be in one.
I agree too! I'm pretty much done with the ghosts. I want the screen time to go to the ones who are still alive (vamps included). I was never a huge fan of Anna and I still am not. Of course Mason is gorgeous so it didn't hurt to see him for a minute, but the only one who I enjoyed was Lexie and that was even pushing it. The review is right, things were conveniently set up for November sweeps. I usually don't get up during an episode and last night I found myself not paying full attention a few times.

Anna and Jeremy were together for like 2 minutes, and the whole time Anna was planning on using Jeremy's blood to feed her mother. AND had another guy in the hotel room helping with the plan! OMG let her go already! AliceGranger, that is why we didn't like Anna. Think Season one Episode 14 "Fool Me Once."

Is anyone sencing sth between Bonnie and Mat.......Bonnie and Jeremie were too odd for me, and his chemistry with Anna showed that he's just not the right guy for Bonnie. Mat is such a honey pie, i just looove him, among the other awesomely handsome TVD guys and it would be great if they end up together, or have at least soth spicy going on btw them....

I agree with the review too.
I was actually kinda bored and as never liked the ghost story from the start!
Bring back klaus!
Am I one of the only people that actually liked this episode? This was like a tasty treat for fans who missed beloved characters and I quite liked their conclusions. I have to agree that Bonnie needs to be used for more than just spells and why can't she do magic without spells anymore? But I actually enjoyed her reconnection with her Grams. Btw Vampires could always do things like Lexi did, remember Damon invading Stefans dreams back in season 1, the writes just seemingly dropped that after season 1.

I too have had enough with the ghosts to last me a life time...... I agree 100% with the tv fanatic reviewer, this episode left my brain discombobulated. Also lexie was NOT older than Rose,Rose was over 500 years old as opposed to lexie who was only into her 300's.

I totally lost interest after 15 minutes. Too many weird ghosts randomly showing up. As if last weeks episode wasn't enough. I will try again when my Amazon VOD episode comes in. But if it doesn't get better soon I may cancel my TV Pass. Sorry. I can watch the first two seasons over and over, but these last two episodes were stupid.

Anyways aside from all the demands of more shipping scenes, I perfectly understood that this episode was designed for exposition (agreed with @matt). Coherency maybe a small problem but I thought it tied the knots of several characters just fine. I.e. gave Anna, Pearl, Lexi and Mason a sense of longing. reunion, purpose, and redemption respectively (agreed @Rande).
@tvdlover, Did I feel bad for Jeremy? Ans: Generally I do because he keeps losing family members, but not in this episode for hurting Bonnie. So it ends, it appears.
As for the "I have no idea..." line at the end of the episode, My mind rings of the following:
1.) It's the Kawatche caves from season 2 of Smallville!! Joking aside, I thought it could just be the Ancestral Were-wolf clan of an origin story on the wall. The clues is that the caves is actually owned by someone?
2.) It could be a "Lost" reference to candidates to become the new "Jacob" of the island. Perhaps a tale of how the original father

The episode was scattered. Compared to several season 3 episodes, this episode wasn't as good. It's ok to not advance a storyline but we should still know what happened offscreen. In the second episode, Caroline only had 10 seconds but we knew what was going on. Here, we have no idea why Tyler and Rebekah aren't around, or what happened with Katherine. I mean, Mikael did stop drinking but 10 seconds of Katherine or Mikael saying "vervain" or "clever" would have been nice. Likewise, a few seconds of Tyler/Rebekah to explain why they don't appear would be nice. Lexi having an unheard of power wasn't good particularly since Mason didn't have superstrength, the tomb vampire-poltergeists that fought Caroline were weak/didn't have vampire abilities, and ghost-witches retain their powers. It was nice to not have Delena scenes. The necklace surviving and the cave paintings (including Viking longboats) were nice developments.
