90210 Review: True Confessions

at . Comments

Remind me to never go to a costume party in Beverly Hills because if there's one thing "It's the Great Masquerade, Naomi Clarke" taught me, it's that everyone always has something hidden.

And, sooner or later, that mask gets ripped off.

Naomi agreed to join forces with her arch enemy Holly this week in order to throw CU's masquerade ball. Like we didn't know THAT was going to end tragically. Sweet as pie and a little too agreeable, I knew Holly was up to no good. And she didn't prove me wrong when those coy little texts started popping up on the video screens at the ball.

Masqerade Partying

Seemingly from Austin, Naomi jumped at the bait. Wasn't it only a week ago that she was dumped by the love of her life, Max? How quickly she forgot. Festering over Austin now, she immediately made a fool of herself, courtesy of Holly.

Naomi may have thought she had the last laugh by having Holly kicked out of the party... but Holly turned the tables on her. After squealing to the dean about the rampant nudity, open flames and all around fun happening at the party, the dean took Naomi's student council presidency title away and gave it right back to Holly. Gotta admit the girl can play a mean snake when push comes to shove.

Screw the dean and Holly. Carnival WAS kick ass and the music was killer. And I did wish I was there, like the banners said. In the end, Naomi got Austin. Or so it seemed.

Adrianna tried to play good cop to Dixon's bad ways. I loved the costumes they wore to the ball reversing those roles. And while it seemed that Adrianna had maybe succeeded in breaking Dixon's ADHD habit, we all knew that monkey was jumping all over his back. No sooner was Ade gone from his side when he was back to doing the good stuff. How else could he spin those jams?

I like the possibility of Ade and Dixon getting together though. Oddly enough, they seem right for each other. And finally some flavor on 90210!

The ab-fest going on between Liam and Austin, meanwhile? Hilarious. I'll take Austin, please. While the humble mode that Liam took was a bit much, he finally succumbed to revealing himself as AbMan in the end. Nothing like the lure of cash to get you to forget about your "principles." It was for the bar after all.

Silver and Navid continued their fight over Navid's nefarious dealings with Uncle Amal. Silver didn't get why Navid had supposedly lied to her. Umm... because he didn't want her killed like Amal had threatened to do previously? But, of course, Silver was on her high horse again. Wonder how light the air is up there? Especially after finding out the truth about bug-eyed Brandy's aka Marissa Harris-Young's campaign videos. Can we all just admit that we don't care about that storyline. B-O-R-I-N-G.

Annie tossed ex-customer/new boyfriend Patrick away because he was imposing on her freedom too much. Like we were supposed to believe that a man who could pass for her dad would be that ga-ga over Annie. Ludicrous much? And how creepy was Perez Hilton? Like a jacked-up Joker with his tacky plaid suit. Stay behind the computer screen please.

And finally Ivy (who looked stunning in her costume) seemed to be questioning her future with Raj. Seen only in a photoshopped picture, Raj was nonexistent in this week's episode. Much like he's going to be in the future it seemed. Especially since Nick, the freelance photographer, once again made an appearance and occupied much of Ivy's thoughts. Get set for a future romance.

They say the truth shall set you free. We'll see about that.

naomi could have been referring to liam when she mentioned the 'other time she fell hard for a guy' and about her messing up so bad n him walking away... makes more sense seeing as max only left a week ago haha and in truth she messed up with liam way more than she did with max anyway..

"I like the possibility of Ade and Dixon getting together though. Oddly enough, they seem right for each other. And finally some flavor on 90210!" "But, of course, Silver was on her high horse again. Wonder how light the air is up there?" TV Fanatic, you've won me over yet again. Keep up the good work!!!

-Brandy is just meh.. need her to go asap.
-Not buying those Naomi-Austin-sexy-cowboy stuff. lame..
-Annie and that old guy? seriously?
-lots of weird costumes/props/sls this season.

Unlike some people here I actually think the Naomi and Austin story-line makes sense. Naomi didn't mourn about her break up with Max because he WASN'T the love of her life. I love the geek chic and I'm kind of a nerd myself but in my opinion Max and Naomi were wrong for each other, Naomi needs a man and Max wasn't man enough. Austin on the other hand is perfect for her, the attraction they have for each other is intoxicating, and I know Austin seems like a player but I don't think he is, not really.
anyways I can't wait for next week's episode and I really think Dixon and Adrianna would make a great couple.

I thought this was a good episode except I hated how it lacked the element of Max. We didn't see Naomi the least bit feeling bad or any form of regret on what happened between her and Max in the last episode. And that's surprising considering she called him the love of her life. I appreciated the relationship between Max and Naomi because I felt like it was a step forward for this character. Now that she's getting together with Austin, I feel like she's moving back again. It's disappointing.

So disappointed in Naomi, sheesh wasn't it just a week ago that the "love of her life' walked away from her and she is already set to chase Austin..speaking of Austin wasn't he just hitting on a group of girls at the bar???? Wow what happened to Naomi, did she lose her brain or just naive? Holly might be the bitch, but what she said about Austin was spot on...(mm lets think back a few epi's ago when he used Naomi to dump Holly.) Austing is NOT Max, he likes to play games and likes to have the upper hand. Everything seems to be a game with him, I have a feeling Naomi is setting herself up for a fall---eventually she will realize Max was what she wanted all along--by that point though he will be dating Holly.

I'm surprised to see Ray Wise in 90210.

Uh I didn't write here for quite a while and I'm happy that I comment this very solid episode!
Naomi! How much I hate that they write her from one "crush" to an other she and Austin have chemistry like we saw in the first scene. this Holly storyline is nice but it would be better if they made her more struggle in school! They announced a new teacher coming to CU but it will be love again! Holly is a bitch! but she didn't played the game with our favurite LA gerl!
Addixon! They are really a nice couple they interact well! Shame the writers made them find each other now 3 seasons lost!! The bet scene amazing! I liked the replic on Dixon feeling sad because of Nilver.
Ivy is beautiful! I really love her, and it's a shame that she is trapped in this marrigge! They should show more emotions more inner struggling or wrap this up and finish it! She is a nice actress as she showed in season 2!
Nilver! The costume suits them but it is getting ridiculous, but the final scene was really emotional and well acted by N! Tiffany I love ! Amazing!
Annie! I always loved her attitude to step up for herself! She matured a lot in this season! And I love she sent him packing! Annie girl U've gone DILF! So will there come a slapy ex and mess with them!?!

The original had its fair share of parties and party-related drama as well. At least the Masquerade Party Naomi threw out was a huge improvement over last season's dreck of a senior prom. BTW, I like the closing montage in the episode's last moments: from Ivy looking to think more of her own happiness besides Raj, to Naomi trying to find a stable man in her life who could love her unconditionally to Liam trying to face his fears of facing challenges and overcoming doubts (redundant use of words I know lol hehehe) by letting himself be the face of an advertising campaign. Perez was there for like a minute and a half...So he wasn't much of a presence.

Is it just me or in almost every episode of this season there is a party! It's like "Party 90210" now! Do the new writers think that this show is only about parties? Does anyone agree with me?
