@jasmine, no offense to u but how in Gods creation would anyone think that Lori actress acts better than Malia actress? Mali a and Chin are oozing with chemistry while Lori has never had chemistry with any of the actors, lead or guest.

I don't mind Lori but I just don't understand what she brings to the show. It makes sense that she was assigned to be part of the team in the beginning but now she just seems pointless to me.Kono and Chin-Ho screen time has been like cut in half. I just don't know why Lori is there.
    Anyone else agree?

Hey everyone, there were a couple of episodes in season 1 I missed due to moving last year... I will try and find episode 14 on line somewhere.

My comment was based solely on this season and Melia's conversation with Kono at her house.... thank you all for the information.

Keep in mind this would not be the first continuity error... But I really appreciate the turn out and comments!

    Ps.

    GO LORI!!!

    hehehe

I LOVE LORI! i hope she stays and maybe even has a fling with steve. i think she is so pretty and at first i didnt like her...i thought she was trying to replace kono. but the 5 person 5-0 team seems to be working and more girls is never a bad thing...i personally dont like chin's fiance that much. i feel like she is fake or maybe just a bad actress.
im on Team Lori and as always, steve was gorgeous in episode 2.10.

Loved that SEAL team 9 went along. Loved Joe and Jimmy B! I would have rathered Jenna be a double agent and not hoping her fiance was alive but it was a good ending. She annoyed me so I'm glad she's gone but she did get a good wrap up. I agree with all the Kono comments. I am NOT a Lori lover. To me her hug was unrealistic. She doesn't know anyone on the team well enough to act all emotional or as emotional as she can get. I hope she isn't on much longer but I fear that the higher ups love her.

Malia didn't dump Chin Ho when he was suspected of stealing the money - he dumped her to "protect" her and she held on to her love for him by wearing his engagement ring around her neck. So, yeah, this Chin Ho fan is very happy the two of them are officially engaged again.

Lori, whom I thought was such a promising character after her first episode, has become a gigantic black hole in the action and emotions of the show. Seriously, was there anything she did that Kono couldn't have done? The hug MIGHT have been an affirmation of her loyalty to Steve rather than the governor if her loyalty had been in question after her first episode. Since it wasn't, the hug just felt like the writers pushing a Steve/Lori romance - i.e. faked and forced. I hope she's gone soon.

It was great seeing Joe White again. He brings expertise, experience, and a calming presence to the team.

@ser65 - actually, Lauren German is in the opening credits, as Also Starring. And it's not just a reaction to a change - there's a lot of changes people like (i.e. Terry O'Quinn). She's just a bad change!

  9. Lanika

Amelia didn't break off the engagement. Chin Ho did to "protect" her. She said that it really hurt her that everyone thought it was the other way around. Chin Ho started to apologize to her, but then was interrupted when Kono came back.

I agree with Aces why is everyone hating on Lori? Seriously, every comment I read is dripping with such disdain for this character, I don't get it. She's not in the credits so obviously she's not permanent, if that's any consolation to all you Lori-haters out there. But geez, enough already! I love this show and don't really watch it with a critical eye like some of the people in the comments seem to. Its just a show, people! Why do some fans take it personally when the show changes even the slightest or a new character is added that wasn't there originally? Its just a fun show to me, its a mixture of comedy and action which is why I enjoy it so much along with Steve (I'd be lying if I said he wasn't part of the reason I watch the show). You should just sit back and just enjoy too.

I loved this episode, until the hug. It was soooooooo awkward. Lori has NO chemistry with Steve. I'm BEGGING the writers to get her off the show as soon as possible. They ruined a great moment with that scene. I don't understand how the writers could think the fans would want to see that. I almost laughed when your review said that people would join the Lori fan club. That turned me off even more! I wish the ending hadn't been so rushed. I would have loved to see a little more interaction after they saved Steve. Hawaii Five-O is such a great show with a great core 4 and great supporting characters. Please get rid of Lori so things can get back to that greatness.

Jim - if you still think Malia dropped Chin, you really don't know this show or care to - and please stop re Lori. If Lori begins to be accepted, which I doubt, the comments will say it for you. You don't need to keep the line going.
Of the episode - liked it - agree with those who note that Steve took massive hits from WoFat and heavy beatings behind closed doors, but his head never even dropped. He's a SEAL - but he's also human (well, almost) and WoFat is as powerful as Steve when it comes to dishing it out, so some show of collapse, even if temporary, would have made more sense. Team dynamics great. JB fun - obvious he enjoyed this two-day sojourn for him - SEAL team 9 fun - and yes, the one who was saved by a sky-diving Steve was there - and Lori should not have been there at the end. As for that hug - best forgotten and I sincerely hope never repeated. May the gov fire her - out of the show.

For the record, Chin's fiance didn't leave him. He pushed her away and broke it off with her so she wouldn't be tainted by his scandal. No ones knows this, not even Kono, but it was revealed in an episode in season 1 by a statement she made.

Anyone who is interested, there is a new interview up from last night of alex at the GQ Australian man of the year awards. He won actor of the year and told the interviewer he has a new GF who is hawaiian. He said her name is malia. I am suprised he was so upfront, you can never get anything out of him!! Happy for him for the award!!! He deserved it!

  15. amazingalex

Zia.....You are very welcome!!Alex is the reason I started watching this show. HE is the reason it is the success it is. He has a huge following and his career has sky rocketed in the last couple of years. No one could have played Steve Mcg the way he does. He is H50!!!!! What he has done with this role is amazing!!

I mean seriously, could this man be any HOTTER????? I need 911 when he is on!!

I thought the show was pretty awesome. Except that Lori they really need to get her off this show. She just doesn't go with the rest of them. She is just so bland. I was glad however that they got rid of the one chick. I never did care for her either.

Thank you, Amazing Alex, Tamara, and Suzy Q. VJ are you sure you understand the show. If you cut out AOL, you do not have a show. The only reason any of the other characters are there is because of what happened to Steve and his family. That is why 5-0 exists. Steve's part was the only part not cut dramatically when Lori came onto the scene. At least they did something right there. Steve McG is the lead and that will never change, if it does, then the show is gone.

I'm amazed by how much I enjoy this show--reboots are tricky and I watched the original when I was young. But I really like this team (not a fan of Lori yet, but blasting the bridge was pretty cool); it doesn't hurt that the male leads are ALL hotties!

  19. SuzyQ

LOL at all the comments about how "unrealistic" was the action in this episode. If you want a traditional "realistic" police drama based in a city, DON'T watch 5-0. Watch BLUE BLOODS or one of the many L&O dramas. First, look at the title - "HAWAII 5-0." Hawaii always has international, Pacific Rim connotations. Second, it's been established from episode 1 that 5-0 operates & takes on extraordinary cases that the police can't. Third, the lead character has a background in military ops. Of course they're going to do stuff that he is strong in. Why do we watch 5-0? Not because it's realistic, that's for sure! Finally, there will ALWAYS be a place on 5-0 for shirtless McGarrett! ALWAYS! As long as you have bikini-clad babes checking out classic cars full of sand, you better have room for the male equivalent.

  20. Tamara

    @ VJ

Get ride of Alex are you out of your mind Alex is the lead and a real Hottie of course he is in most of the scene's that happens when you become the LEAD!! Alex and Scott are for many fans the reason they watch this show! their chemistry is EPIC!!

  21. SuzyQ

Great episode! Now to the important stuff:

    1) Lori is OK. IMO she has better chemistry with Danny than Steve. Remember "slutty Wonder Woman?"
    2) No other pair on the show has better chemistry than Danny & Steve. It's a true bromance. No, I'm not into slash. Just saying that you can't force the best kind of chemistry.

  22. amazingalex

VJ.. if your sick of alex o you may want to find another show to watch. He is the lead in the show and the most popular member of the cast for fans. He is the hottie, there is no need for another one. Alex o loughlin is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in hollywood!

  23. amazingalex

kaydee...I felt sick when she hugged him as well. BUT she can give him all the googly eyes she wants they dont have him giving them back and thank goodness for that. I dont care if she is falling for him, it is painfully obvious he is NOT falling for her. They better keep it that way!!

  24. dizzylucy

What an amazing episode!!!! Action packed, very tense, and well acted by AOL, Scott, and everyone. Who cares about realism, it was thoroughly entertaining! The cast and crew did a fantastic job.
Joe was used perfectly in this one, and I was glad to see the return of the other SEALs. Loved all the Danny/Steve moments.
Very happy for Chin and Malia - I too thought he'd ended it and pushed her away to protect her before, but for some reason they decided to make his family and everyone think she'd been the one to dump him.

I still don't care for Lori, and probably never will. To be blunt, for me it's a combination of poor writing for the character and dull acting, and it just doesn't work with the rest of the show. The idea of her being the Governor's watchdog was interesting and gave potential conflict, then...nothing. A love interest for Steve...nah. I don't feel that she has good chemistry with the rest of the cast, and Kono seems to get the short end of the stick when it c

  25. VJ

I don't think Lori is ruining the show. I don't think she's sexy or anything but I think they need to bring in more characters because the show was getting boring. Jenna gone is no big deal. Tired or seeing Alex O all the time. Bring in new blood. I say keep Lori and bring in some really hot guy and pair them up. Now there is a story....
