TV Fanatic Staff Selection, Take 1: Harvey and Mike for Most Dynamic Duo!

at .

TV Fanatic wants to know: Who is the Most Dynamic Duo on television? While we encourage readers to sound off on this topic over the next couple weeks, staff writers will be chiming in with their take on who deserves the honor.

First up: Jeffrey Kirkpatrick. Read on to see if he can convince you to suit up for a certain USA Network duo...

There really is no contest. Of all the pairs in this poll, no two outshine the Dynamic Duo of Suits' Harvey Specter and Mike Ross.

They don't need guns. They don't need supernatural abilities. They don't need romantic push and pull. They especially don't need vagina jokes. Harvey and Mike - or "Hike" as we like to call them - don't need gimmicks to be awesome, they just are. (Yeah, yeah, Mike has a super-brain, but that's just a character trait.)

I can already hear the Psych-Os shouting that Shawn and Gus invented bromantic chemistry, and that may be true; but Harvey and Mike perfected it. Every scene between Harvey and Mike - whether they are trading barbs, arguing over a case or struggling to keep a secret on the DL - feels authentic. While they are often amusing, they aren't just cracking wise or making outlandish, over the top overtures. They come across as real people with a real, albeit complicated, relationship.

Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams deserve equal credit for this, as do the stellar efforts of the brilliant writers behind the series.

But the best part of this relationship? They are learning from one another and helping each other grow. Harvey didn't seem to care about anyone but himself before Mike and his kind heart came along and offered Harvey perspective on the fact that there are real people involved in these cases. In turn, Harvey has helped Mike see the bigger picture and realize that sometimes you have to be put your feelings aside in order to be successful.

No two characters on this list better balance one another out than Harvey and Mike, which is why they are the ultimate Dynamic Duo. Not to mention they look mighty dashing in their respective "Suits."

I said it before, and I'll say it again: Harvey and Mike are the television equivalent of George Clooney and Matt Damon. If you need more proof, check out the clip above. If THAT doesn't convince you to vote them TV's Most Dynamic Duo, go ahead and take a Hike.
