What Elijah had actually said was "our mother bore 7 children". Which would have given us a maximum of 9 original vampires. We now know the mother never became one, nor the child that died of the plague in Europe, nor Heinrik since he also died. So Mikael, Elijah, Finn, Kol, Niklaus, and Rebekah are the only original vampires. The original Petrova girl being the mother or a sister never made sense, so thank God that speculation is finally dead...

@San: the TV Guide website says that there are 7 children. I guess Elijah just meant there are 7 children in total and not 7 original children? (Mikael doesnt count cuz he's the father). one died from the werewolf attack and one died from plague. Julie Plec also said at the beginning of the season that we're not gonna meet that many originals because when they started writing for season 3 they realized that 7 original children would be too many. so im guessing these two are the last Originals we will see...though i do want the last to be a female :(

@DamonandElijah: but didn't Elijah say there were seven ORIGINALS? That could mean the brother who was killed doesn't count (as none of the family was a vampire then).
So it's Elijah, Klaus, Rebekah, Michael, Finn, Kol and an empty space for another female vampire ;-)
I'm not comlaining though - I like TVD casting more and more handsome guys :-)

Okay with 4 brothers we can understand why Becca is so spoild. I would really love to see an other female original, but nope we should enjoy it as it is. Just interested to see how they will interact with the other cast member, maybe Kol will WOW Caroline.

it seems like vampire diaries are following gossip girl, giving the guests more importance than the series regular soon the guest stars will dominate the show the writers really suck for sideling jeremy and alaric this season

Excited to see more originals. I hope they are used in the right way... I guess we have to wait until the season finale for Elijah to be woken up. This show really cast some beautiful and handsome actors.

@fortyseven, these are the last originals. Elijah say there was only seven siblings which is Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Finn, Kol and we seen one brother die and TVGuide states the other brother die of plague.

Nathaniel Buzolic is a hottie cant wait to see him on the vampire diaries as an original. Caspar Zafar I couldnt find any pics of him online to see what he looks like.
