What would be so cool is if they took us back in the show before Elena's parents died, when she was apparently "fun"?

Do they have the same writers as Gossip Girl? They like to ruin everybodies' ships.
But it does say they will get back together in the end, question is if I want them to. If the characters grow apart too much during this time then I won't, which sucks to be honest.
@BoredNow, what are normal writers? I can't believe how bad writing is on some series. I would have been a better writer than most of the writers on Heroes (at least from Season 2.5, 3? on) and I have 0 experience.
Let's just say that I hold the current writers of TVD at the same level as the writers of Heroes. Everyone is capable of good and evil.
Yes. The problem with this show is howver, that the GOOD and EVIL is not mixed, but superficial. Characters do not have BOTH qualities, they alternate between the concepts as if they have defined moral meaning and the show usually uses Miss Cardboard Elena Gilbert as "moral compass", which in itself is laughable.
As if that was not enough, the show does NOT allow for certain characters to even enter the "white" or "black" zone. Steffie will always be noble hero that craps sugar and Damon will always be wrong misunderstood guy.
There's no moral complexity in TVD. Its as simple as "guy A is evil now!~ he will cry a lo

Omg the 1% of the Matt & Caroline fans spoke out! Lol that's is never going to happen being that he's never going to be a vampire and he doesn't want to be one. Caroline & Tyler make a lot more sense since they both can live forever together. There just making them struggle more before they permanently put then together for the many seasons to come.

I love Forwood, those two belong together. I think this is just an obstacle they have to overcome. They will get back together eventually.

I like Forwood but they need obstacles just like Delena. I love both of them and I love this show. Hey "bored" Buffys over, get over it. Can't wait for January!!!

Everyone is capable of good and evil. There is no such thing as a one dimensional character and the ones that are, are boring. That's why this show is so good. Everyone has some good and evil in them. That's how life works. It's boring just being good all the time and the same goes for evil characters too.

I'm a huge Forwood fan and it's one of the main things I love about TVD. But I think Plec purposely added before it's gets better for Tyler and Forwood. It's like she knows there's fans that will stop watching if there's no hope. I think there just creating drama before they permentaly become a couple.

I only watch TVD for Caroline and Forwood! I do like the other characters of the show. But it's Forwood and Caroline that keep me watching. If they go I go!
All I can say is if plec shits up Caroline or introduces some lame whimpy version of Meredith, I am done with this show.
There is literally NOTHING else in it that would be interesting or relatable.
I could care less about dysfunctional Damon/Elena/Steffie triangle. It does nothing to me since I hate the guts of all three characters. I stopped caring about Katherine the moment they turned her into Elenav2. Never cared about Klaus even before they turned him into unlikeable crybaby. Original family "story" bores me. And everyone else is just plot device without any actual story or character to like them for.
Caroline MAKES this show for me. They shit up forwood and Caroline and they loose me and many many other people who are grown up and mature enough to realize the huge gaping problems this show has.
Damon: She's strong and crafty and you'll die. Elena: At least I'll die trying.

:( - i guess this pretty much sums it up
