TV Ratings Report: American Idol Wins, Plummets

by at . Comments

Note for the rest of the TV season: American Idol will win in total viewers every single night it airs.

That was easily the case on Wednesday, as the season 11 premiere drew 21.6 million households... but it's not all good news for Fox: the premiere was down 27% from last year's opener. That's quite the drop-off, though not unexpected for a show that's been on for so many seasons and which now faces competition from other singing competitions.

Sucks for Revenge and Law and Order: SVU. I was hoping for a higher rating. Oh well, not worried about SVU considering it'll be back for a 14th season next year.

To be honest I didnt even know it was on last night! I came online and saw that it had aired, I dont know if they did a poor job of advertising it or I was just blind to it all. But i watched tonights episode so maybe a lot of other people were a similar case.
