Castle is a great show, once upon a crime that is a good suspence, even I wouldn't been able to figure out who the killer really is.

Well. There were some funny parts. I'm sad to say this, but I agree with some of the other commenters that it could be better... :(
In the beginning Ryan and Espo had style switches... both out of character. Ryan in a jacket and Espo in a tie. Kate seems very comfortable around Rick. It didn't feel right when they arrested the first guy. Glad they cleared it up. Loved the ending. Can't wait for more episodes and when both Castle's and Beckett's secrets come out.

So enjoyed the show: 1: like the fact that Martha is still a strong story line she keeps Castle saying "WHY"! which I love.
2: Hope they keep Alexis working with Lainie it keep's the door open for those "Castle" (Dad) moments when he is in a situation he would rather not explain!.
3: "Oh" the little thing about Castle keeping his little secret from her.... great writing and when it comes out.... it's gonna hit the fan. I love the fact they keep teasing us with that.
4: And are we ever going to see them together. As the plot thickens.... the mention of Castle Father, Castle Secret, plus all the other little things regarding her mothers death and all the things that keep poping up, Love it!
5: Cant wait for the next show.

Ryan seemed to be trying a "less buttoned down" look. I noticed he only had the tie and suit jacket on in the first and last scenes he was in. Maybe married life is helping him loosen up a bit?

I agree, but perhaps Castle gets' threatened with extorsion, or maybe Alexis gets kidnapped, and then the news comes out what he's been working on when Beckett is looking for leads in his apartment. I know, too much thinking about these two!! I beleive that there will be another nutjob out there like 3XK or he will be involved with a catch me-if-U-can episode. I do think the charactors should express thier feelings and work out a way to sneak a relationship around unsuspecting Gates and co-workers. I bet there will be a time when Gates has to ask, so what is it about Castle, hanging around her, he isn't paid to work here!

I think the secret that's going to come out is Rick still working on Beckett's mother's case behind her back and it's gonna break them up. There's been way too much foreshadowing of this for it not to happen and it's all had a negative connotation (CIA girl last week asking Castle if Beckett knows what he's been doing and how she'll react, and this week Beckett talking about how secrets have a way of exploding, which brings to mind blowing something apart, destroying something, which I think means Beckett/Castle's relationship, at least temporarily. It'll happen season finale for sure but it's gonna separate them. Beckett's gonna have to find a way to forgive Rick for doing this behind her back.

Hey, TVfanatic, can you change the Castle banner at the top of the page? Beckett with longer hair is sexier.
I like Alex being an intern. It keeps her in the show in a relevant way. The mother -- well, I've always been a bit ambivalent around her, but she's a minor character. And yes, the "As you wish" line (and Castle's acknowledgement of it) was a nice touch.
@fortyseven: "One of the guest stars was the killer?! I'm shocked!" I know, right? It's like -- so totally unexpected!

It was nice to see them working together, and seeing Castle's theorys spun off and Beckett working them in. I suppose that play put on by Martha was in part to help push the two together? I did enjoy the pun of it, how Mom was invading his life, like sombody else's in the show... Kate Beckett caught all that and was loving it. Interesting hand touch at the end. Do hope Rick mans' up and has a private meeting to discuss some important facts he has been keeping. I don't miss Gates, but wonder how long before she blows and throws Castle out of the precinct. With Castle's money , he could start his own detective agency and hire the beloved crew at the 19th!
Just saying...

Good episode again. The case was a bit weak, but that's alright. The dolls were creepy, reminded me of The Woman in Black. I thought that Beckett will see her mother's files in Castle's room at the end. That would have been a great end.

Yes secrets do eventually come out. And it seem Beckett was smiling more this episode. How the castle character continues to come up with another angle and we never get tired of it. But we know now that we are closer to what we all want. For them to be together. It was a feel good episode. Never let secrets go to long, you just might not get the chance to come clean. Nobody misses Gates because she just does not fit in with the characters so much. Alexis does need to be with the bodies again. And every person I know growing up except for one disturbed kid was freaked out by Chucky. And guys name was Chuck!!!

I loved the light, interesting touches--Martha suggesting Rick and Kate make a date of the play (and Kate agreeing!)--Esposito saying "As you wish." to Beckett (and Castle noticing); Beckett saying that we need fairy tales so we can believe in happy endings-- and her taking Castle's hand at the end!
Starting to believe the Ausiello blind item IS Caskett.
And while the secret coming out will of course be bumpy for them, we know they will have a happy ending.
So glad Alexis was NOT shadowing Lainie. Lainie doesn't need to do a duet, not with Alexis, and Castle doesn't need his daughter hanging out with them--plus it's too pat, too pre-packaged sitcom to have it go on.
The twists were good, even if the last scene with the killer was too much exposition (compared to discovery) but all in all, I liked this episode a lot.
