To be honest, it's not that I'm opposed to Chair or against Dair, I just really don't like Dan's character very much.. I find him boring and wet blankety. Chuck however I find exciting, and I really do think Blair (when they're together) brings out the best in him. If it really is over for Chair then at least can they introduce a new exciting likeable female so we can see him doing something interesting instead of moping around pining for Blair.

I've stopped watching the show after episode 100 and have been following the reviews just to check if it was getting any better: so far, no improvements!
It was a show of trasgressions, schemes, temptations... These guys are JUST 21 years old and they're making such a fuss about the 'love of their lives': really? Aren't they too young to worry about that? All these great characters have lost their soul and essence. A real shame...

@pty While it's fantasy-based, other shows have handled relationships a lot better than Gossip Girl ever did.

TV is also a media that conveys strong emotions, I mean if I found a love story of this sort in a book and at the end they don't end up together, I can decide whether I enjoyed the story or not independently of the outcome and I may end up buying even if the couple doesn't end up together, but the story is still compelling. But on a TV show, where you know everything is being defined not much before you see it on your screen, and you are also not imagining the story but actually watching it and listening to it, then you end up more involved with the fantasy than with a book where you have to imagine the fantasy based only on descriptions, and that increases the emotional attachments and the wish to get a certain outcome.

@ junior: yeah, definitely it's just a show, and I look forward to the hiatus to focus in other things. I guess it really all comes to what every person define as love and how it should be. I guess for some of us the intensity of the feelings determines whether it is worthy or not to prevail at the end, at least in fiction because in the real world you hardly see such a thing.

Those of us who feel that, simply because they're favourite couple is being thrown under the bus at high speed (those of you have seen the FULL extended promo where B essentially says that she 'loves' Chuck but is no longer 'IN love with him' will know what I'm talking about), they no longer have an investment in seeing where the show leads, should stop watching now. I started watching GG because I loved the cast (more or less) as a WHOLE; because I was interested in THEIR lives - Chair was simply an aspect of it that I was rooting for.
However, as they have now bothered to develop this Dair relationship (and managed to capture my interest and support in the process), I am more than willing to watch how this plays out.
I cannot even begin to describe how unwise watching a show solely for a relationship is. Those throwing tantrums simply because Chuck&Blair are looking bleaker by the minute, should stop watching.

I don't understand all the Dair haters! They sound so frustrated and unable to move on from the past :P I honestly feel their relationship makes the most sense on GG. Like puzzle pieces fitting together. ALL the little details from season 1 up till now.. ah well.. haters gonna hate.

@sweetbutterfly The writers already suck, they can't stop being crappy nor do they care about viewers.
You'd do better to stop watching and drop the show.
@Tristan Ludlow I don't think Gossip Girl had any credibility left after Season 3.
It's just funny to see all the disgruntled Chair fans to finally see this awful show for what it was now that they're not getting their way for once.
@latinalover I would totally accept it if Dair happened in season 1 and probably it could be something good but now seriously it does not make any sense or joy to the show , but instead it makes the show loses its credibility. AND i think by saying the writers wanted this to happen from season 1 is a clear evidence that the writers is out of good ideas for a good script and they just need to go their ripped old drafts to find something they can write about it

@sweetbutterfly they said they wanted dair to happen ever since season 1
The gossip girl writers should just stop writing crap for a minute and think about all the fans they are losing every single week with this "Dair" relationship. I know a few people like them but come on! It's a joke. I hate what they are doing to Blair. I am so pissed right now!!! Dan makes me sick, I absolutely hate this character!!! Arggg

We will only know in time once we get to see a relationship between Dair if it will indeed be anything better than chair.
I guess us chair fans have had our time, it's only right we get to see Dair pan out and whether it truly is a great pairing or not ... Let's wait and see. Dair fans may be screaming for more chair action by the end of the season ...

@Anon No, Nate/Serena/Blair (well, Chuck has a lot of 1 night stands) have also been in a lot of relationships with other people as well.
You seem to be only singling out Dan.
@PassTheMacarons,Please and @chir No, making this a dream would just be pointless, it would be a shameless waste of time, Gossip Girl is not Dallas.
It's not worth watching the show anymore, you can just watch old clips and make up your own ending.
@junior Whatever love is, it's not the crap Gossip Girl has been peddling out.

Totally the same.....
The only way the show is salvageable for me is if this turns out to be a coma dream of Chuck or Blair post-accident. It has become so bad that I only peek in here to see if there is a chance that might be the outcome of this season. I don't watch the show any more, and can't even bring myself to watch the previews.
Chuck and Blair were what got me hooked on this show. Without their twisted romantic dynamic this is just another waste of airtime. It's too bad that the potential for some really great storylines went to waste because the writing team wasn't up to it (and that applies to more than just the Chuck and Blair relationship).

@latinalover Actually, I'm seeking just the tiniest glimmer of hope that this show will rise out of the pit of drek it has fallen into, and will get its snap back.
Posting comments on a public board may not make any difference, but it's a much better shot than sitting mute and wasting time watching something that grows progressively worse. I'm voicing my opinion, as are you.

@pty Don't forget it's just a story, nothing is real. It's only the promo, they like screwing things. Bigger question ! What's love after all ? There are so different kind of love. Love is it chemistry ? Our brain reaction ? or mechanism of evolution to put male and female together for reproduction and rising their spawn.

Even if the writers have to pull out more contrivances to put them together, they've already done so much irreparable damage to Chair fans, even if they are together at the end, it's completely ruined.

@ Anonymous..Where do I get Dan and Lola? I said Lola because i feel like her histerish attire will strike his fancy. It could be anyone though, for all I know Olivia or Vanessa will come back and he will rekindle his crazy love for one of those. Or maybe all those times he hooked up will georgina will come back to him and he'll realize she's his soulmate. It's fricking Dan, he's loved everyone on the show, several people more than once.
