the only couple left is chuck and serena. how about that, gossip serena and chuck bass will take over manhattan in a snap of a finger then let georgina be the gossip "minder". and since dair is on, Nola is on why not cherena?! since ridiculous Sl is what the writers are all about and incest is not a problem.

people are saying "get over it chair fans", but my problem is that the show doesn't flow anymore. I love having tv show marathons, but whats the point with gossip girl, when now it just reminds me of a soap opera. Nice one guys, I used to think it was a unique show with unique characters, but now i feel like the characters are airy-fairy. The characters used to have specific characteristics, yet now they just adapt to wat ever the writer decides. They no longer think of who blair actually is, and would she really do that? I won't stop watching it, but it makes me sad that it no longer gives me that kick

Just shows how much people are not open to new things. I think the writers are doing a pretty good job at making the show more exciting. As for Emma... Blair is not being a bad friend, they have all hooked up with everyone without really considering anyone's feelings. Don't you remember how Serena used to be? She slept with Nate while Blair and Nate were still together. Not that two wrongs make a right but this show doesn't really have much boundaries when it comes to hooking up. And Serena can't change Dan's feelings for Blair so she shouldn't get in the way adn allow them to explore/

You remind me of the shitty customers I used to get when I worked at Blockbuster as a teenager. Whenever they had late fees, or we didn’t have a movie they wanted or something like that, the threat was always: ‘Fine then, I guess I’ll have to go to Video Ezy’. They honestly thought I’d care about losing their patronage, they were often shocked when I printed them a Google map to the nearest Video Ezy store. You see, video store clerks rarely work on commission ;).
Also – calling the writers terrible because of Dair? Really? REALLY!? That’s the first plot that pops into your mind when you think of bad writing on Gossip Girl!? *FACE PALM*.

I’m so tired of reading people’s big grandiose claims that they’re going to ‘quit watching Gossip Girl forever’ just because the couple they prefer isn’t together right now. Newsflash: No one cares, at all. The show has been guaranteed a 6th season (and it’s fairly obvious the 6th will be the final) so even if a few particularly disenchanted fans do stop watching, it’s not going to make a difference to renewal. And even if someone involved in the show happened across your comment, I highly doubt the response is going to be ‘OMG! Quick guys, we better write X and Y back together ASAP or some immature jerk on the internet is apparently going to stop watching!!’.
The story lines constantly changes on GG. There are a lot of episodes left till season 6 comes around & who knows what the outcome may be? Don't be upset just yet Chair fans, Blair still loves Chuck & there is still hope for them to be together. As much as I don't enjoy seeing Dair together, I'm still going to watch GG. I've been a fan since the show aired & I'm not going to let this Dair vs Chair vs Derena thing ruin something I've watched for years. And for all those who say they're going to stop watching ... You know you're going to secretly watch it anyways because you want to know what's going to happen next. Haha.

Great, now this show also is ruined. This is the worst season in GG history. I don't recognize any of the characters anymore. I really hope the next och last season will rebuild the show to its former standars. The writers don't do a very good job at the moment. Every plot and sceme is halfdone, it dosn't make any sense like it used to. Season 1 and 2, that was good times! Bring me some of that back!

it always amazes me how so many chair fans jump on these forums and makes posts claiming how they didnt watch the episode because chair wasnt on and how the show is going down because nothing compares to chair.... so these so called 'fans' dont watch but they wait to read about the re-cap after it has shown???? errr clearly you are still a fan enough of gossip girl to read the review. why dont u guys just take a chill pill and just watch the show for what it is rather than this silly...'im not watching until chair are back on'. get over it....not saying you have to like dair but their are other storylines going on namely the 'rhodes family' plot. ok so tonight's episode was not the best written wise but thats because they just packed way too much in. that material could have lasted them 2 weeks.

This last episode has wrapped Dair up completely. They're not going anywhere.
And shit, Dair are pretty perfect together. They might not be the most exciting couple ever and Dan doesn't exude the magnetism Chuck does but Dan's the most obvious choice for a healthy, generous and longevous relationship. Plus, they DO have chemistry, what the fuck are you all talking about. The Gossip Girl writers still see the show as a modern day fairytale and they want to give the characters a sense of balance after the show ends. Chuck and Blair are not the way to go for this.

The cast have been tied into making just one more season, and as the ratings for this show have been consistently low as of late, it's fairly probable Gossip Girl will end after season 6. What we know: It's almost the end of season five and Dan and Blair are very much in love, and with all the melodrama surrounding them this season the Gossip Girl spotlight will probably fall on someone else next season. So any last drops of love you might have for the reunion of Chair might very well be futile.

And so Blair just forgives Dan? Just like that? Either bring back season 1 dan with his charming one liners or let Blair be with Chuck. Dair is being totally forced now. They had chemistry leading up until their actual confession of feelings, but now it's gross.

i think some people are right to think that blair's become the old serena (the one confused about her feelings) and serena's become the old blair (the one with a definite heart and direction in life.)

@charissa29 i'm just glad it was blair who's suffering this kind of confusion and it was certainly beautiful to see serena grow and mature. Serena totally rocks this season. that's why i love her.
@simona i wish serena accepts being gossip girl. i mean who better than serena since she's the it girl. and what better way to continue being an it girl when you know every single juicy scandal in the UES.

as for dair, i don't know why and i know a lot of people likes dair but i just can't seem to like them linked romantically. and yes, i am a chair fan but not a hardcore fan. and honestly, i was tired of all the blair and chuck back-and -forth and all the impossible hurdles thrown at them. but going back, i just always thought that dan belongs with serena. anyways that's just me still holding on to derena.
ps and now that dair is on blair will officially sleep with every major male character on the show. isn't it weird that even though chuck and serena has the reputation of sleeping with everyone they met they're the only 2 major characters left that hasn't hooked up with one another. and i doubt it will happen because their relationship is completely like a brother and sister.

This year started off well except that the writers turned our feisty, scheming darling Queen B into an often whiny female cliche. I DON'T APPRECIATE THAT!!! Finally redeeming Chuck was great and the book was fun but then it all went to hell in the second half. A pact with God? a Dowry? Ivy suddenly inherits Lily's apartment? A fake Charlie and the real one? No discernible, functional plotline or real character development? Blair spinning like a demented top between boys. "Louis I love you, Chuck go away!" "Chuck I love you, let's run away!" "Dan, you have my heart now." All in a matter of weeks! Arrrghhh! THAT IS WHAT SERENA IS FOR, NOT OUR DARLING BLAIR! WRITERS!!! STOP PHONING IT IN!

I'm disappointed of how things turned to be! This is not how it was supposed to end. I really hope writers are going to prepare something crazy and amazing for not losing watchers! Where's the crazy chair love? Where's Dan's big love for Serena? He said the real and big love was only her! What the hell is happened? I really don't understand: I still trust in writers, hoping they are preparing something good for the end of the season. We will see. Btw I'm really excited about Serena's new project of being Gossip Girl (if she accepts, obviously!).

This used to be my fun trashy show. I accepted (albeit reluctantly) the randomness of the plots and their gaping, giant holes because the characters were still fun; Nate and Serena would sleep with the guest stars and be clueless, Chuck and Blair were Blair and Chuck and we would get occasional doses of Jack and Georgina to mess everything up. It was fun and silly. Shipper wars aside (as they have become ridiculous) it was snarky and improbable and FUN! We knew that Blair would be feisty, ruthless and scheming and still we would root for her! Chuck would be deliciously sleazy and wounded all at the same time. Serena and Nate would share the admittedly dubious honor of being the Dumbest Dupes ever in the history of tv and Dan would usually mock and judge!

i also really loved serena and dorota's interaction near the end of the episode. it was really nice for dorota to comfort serena the way she does with blair. it's like dorota was their mom/aunt who's always there to comfort and makes you feel better genuinely.
i actually also really like georgina this episode. although she does turn up at the exact right moment before a bomb detonates, it works for her so much. and i'm really excited how she'll solve all of blair's problem and what exactly does she want in return.
Serena: Congratulations, you've officially joined the dark side.
