Gossip Girl's Dan and Blair: Will They Last?

at . Comments

Now that Dan and Blair are a full-fledged couple (or at least clearly headed down that path, without a prenup, Chuck or Louis looming as immediate obstacles), the question becomes, when the show returns April 2:

Will it last? Or will these two quickly realize they're better as friends?

That's an open question, but their bedroom woes won't do them in.

TV Line's Michael Ausiello says that the sex problem Dan and Blair encounter on the next episode (as evidenced by the Spring 2012 Gossip Girl promo) will not necessarily be the thing that derails Dair.

"Those resourceful kids will quickly find a solution to their sad sack woes," he reveals in his weekly spoiler column, "Although I can’t really see them sustaining said solution on a long-term basis."

Hmm. Any thoughts on what that solution is? And whether it will be sustainable?

This is just one person's opinion, mind you, but it's likely to be shared by many who just can't envision Dair together for good. On the flip side, many fans see them as the sole reason for the show at this point.

Don't forget there's that on-set kiss that is allegedly from the episode after April 2, so even if they do end the romance, it may not be imminent. Anyway, what do you think? Comment, and vote, below!

100% you are right, and because Dan is supposed to return Serena. Relationship based on lies can not succeed, well known to Serena and Dan in the second season. As for the termination of romance between Dan and Blair might like this to happen - bad sex will not be the main reason for their termination, but stupidity that Dan will do - take out a ring and propose to Blair. She will be a smooth decline as nearly came out of a marriage and will not want to re-bounds into the other.

@ Mysterious
3rd Season is one of the worst in the whole series because the writers and producers disperse romance between Serena and Dan. Later that same season, they realized the mistake and tried to correct it, and in fourth season but it was too late, as the actors Penn and Blake have already broken their romance private. Serena was with Nate from remorse (and not out of love) because Nate lost his virginity to her, and it helped her when his cousin tried to kill her. After she took the first opportunity, and left him.

Well in my opinion Chuck and Blair's relationship is far more healthier than Dan and Blair. Dan is the most manipulative character on this show, he basically started a (kind of) relationship with Blair under false pretences. He isolates her from the rest of her friends and tried to turn her against the other people in her life that she cares about (i.e. when he kept going on about how he couldn't believe that Chuck would send out the video when it was he, himself who did it.)
I don't know about you guys, but I think this sort of relationship is far more unhealthy than Chuck and Blair's has ever been. I don't think that Dan and Blair will last, Michael Ausiello even admitted in that quote that Dair will get derailed by something. It is just a matter of what it is and when it is.

@ Cecilia
You're wrong, Dan and Blair have nothing to do with Lily and Rufus. Serena and Dan are the same as their parents and therefore will end up like them. No one defends Blair and Dan to be together, but they will themselves to end their romance.

@ Ggfan
No reason to hate Chuck viewers. Chuck said in the 4th episode in the 5th season that everyone loves a villain in the book so that everyone here is talking about Chuck, like everybody loves Alexis in Dynasty series.

@anak.INA hope you read this. sorry for the late reply. am very happy with and for dair and truly hope they are the endgame, get married and have little dairlings. oh how much i have invested (especially time and mind and emotions) for such a fictional couples is beyond me! but i love their story. where do you currently reside? jakarta?

@ggfan wow I'm really sorry to hear that. I understand what you mean about Chuck. I don't think the writers have written him unsympathetically. Look at his life? It really is surrounded by tragedy, so even if he does something wrong they've always got his background story to help us understand him. I think he's their best character. He creates drama but we don't hate him for it. I know what you mean about the show being like a distraction. Why create unnecessary drama in your life when the entertainment of Gossip Girl brings it to you?

Dair kind of reminds me of Lily and Rufus. Or thats how they will end up if they dont get their happy ending now.

"Not all Chair and Dair fans are the same. Love how people think those on the opposite ship are monsters. Might be a good idea to separate people's views on a TV show from their personalities..." Yes! This site is out of control. I counted maybe 5 cordial posters over 15+ pages? The awful posts are not from only Chair fans or from only Dair fans, like some claim, but from both in equal measure. Not to mention, there's really only a few people posting over and over... Most non crazies stay the hell away from stuff like this. I certainly won't be reading or posting anymore just thought you all need to be reminded to calm down from time to time!

I don't blame Chuck for what he does. Something inside you just breaks when your life has been a tragedy. To find any way out of the darkness and to seek therapy is something I admire in a person.

[to Jenny] That's the thing. You need to be cool to be queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off. So her daughter Elizabeth made a vow never to marry a man. She married a country. Forget boys. Keep your eye on the prize, Jenny Humphrey. You can't make people love you, but you can make them fear you. For what it's worth, you're my Queen. I choose you.
