Megalyn Echikunwoke made quite the impression on the House of Lies premiere, getting it on with another woman inside a restaurant bathroom stall.
Now, in an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic, the actress talks about making a return to the Showtime hit, which just got picked up for a second season...
What can we expect from April in upcoming episodes.
April comes back and she and Marty very cautiously date. She initially comes back to torment him and then they end up dating.
For your role as a coroner on CSI, you went down to the L.A. County Coroner's to research your part. Did you do any kind of field work for you scenes as a “dancer” on House of Lies?
Oh, for sure, most definitely. I love doing research for fun characters like this. Talk about a good excuse to go to a strip club. I did a little pole dancing training and worked with a pole dancer to choreograph a number for the scene. It was really fun to do, really liberating and also an incredible work out. It’s really hard work.
The bathroom scene with Anna Camp was pretty memorable. How was filming that scene?
Oh yeah people loved it. It was actually very fun and also very liberating. Anna is so game for everything and I don’t think it was her first time doing girl on girl so she had more experience than me. It was definitely interesting to a lot of crew members who were suddenly very interested in what was happening on the set that day. More than anything it was a lot of fun, we were both doing a lot of giggling. Anna is a really great comedian, she made the scene really funny.
As April becomes more of a fixture in Marty’s life does she and the other prominent female character Jeannie, played by Kristen Bell, butt heads?
Megalyn: Maybe we do, maybe we don’t.
Fair enough. How has it been working with Don Cheadle?
Megalyn: It was a dream come true. He is such a great actor to work with. He is such a great scene partner. He has so much experience and is so well trained that and is so generous think that I probably did better work because I was working with him. The whole show is just so great and exciting and I just hope you keep watching.
