Tony seems to be the character that tptb are willing to sacrifice for so called humor. Gibbs and Ziva are sacred and darn near perfect and always receive flattering portrayals. Everything they do it seems, is above reproach. I miss the days when Tony's character was valued by tptb. I wish tptb would spread the "humor" around instead of always humiliating Tony. Course they don't spread around the flattering, exciting hero moments either. Those always go to Super Gibbs and Wonder Ziva. The writing of Ziva, Tony and GIbbs continues to be quite predictable and very cliche.

This was an okay episode.A team episode for a change. I loved seeing McGee for more than one or two scenes. It was good to see him in charge. Also enjoyed the lab scene between Abby and Tim. It's been a while.Good to see Vance and Gibbs scenes. And it was fun to see that Ziva got nervous about giving a talk but then after excited about returning there. Liked Dorneget and Bayar.
BUT Tony. Again we're back to the silly, immature kid(not a man!). One week we have a maturing, fun man then the next(like last night) you have this foolishness.
Don't know which Tony personality to expect anymore. As I told friends last night after the episode-Tony is the Sybil of NCIS.

This was a solid episode.......I do think this bad guy will be back.
I don't understand all the nay sayers about the new gay character.......WHO CARES!?!!?!

I do see the points some have made about Tony.
I wish we could have seen some of Ziva's speech.........

I am glad they are letting Tim continue to grow into a fine man and agent. Sometimes he seems more of a senior special agent than Tony. Tim could have fed Ned some bad info to get him into trouble, which Tony would have done, but Tim was helpful even when he thought Ned had spent the night with Abby. I wish they would let Tony grow. He started to grow with Jeanne Benoit, learning to put her first which seems to be foreign to Tony. Then the writers let him be a jerk again. I’d like to see more consistency of character building with Tony and his relationship to his coworkers, such as giving credit where credit is due.

I do enjoy the banter and teasing among the team members. I find myself LOL at parts I’ve have seen on numerous occasions on USA. That’s a well written show.
Solving the case is what keep NCIS in first place.

I liked this episode. I thought the idea of a guy being killed remotely by his pacemaker was very original. I know the 400 beats was over the top, but its TV not reality. I'm surprised the reality police did not mention the fact that Gibbs and Tony pushing around a minor, (at least thats what he looked like) in the morgue was wrong. I thought it was funny.

i enjoyed the NCIS last night, i did not enjoy the episodie with Jamie Curtis, it was like having the old Gibbs back more investigative

this gets a 5?! marsi, are you ever going to rate an ncis episode with anything less than cum laude? there have been some pretty mediocre ones, you know, including this one.

Why no new episode for so long??? No new episode till the 20th??? Thats really sanding.
Didn't like Dorneget glad hes gay so theirs no competition for Abby. That scene was my favorite with McGee constantly asking why Dornget was at her house.
So is he gonna stay??? if so dose that mean someone is leaving??? vation for Vance??? what dose that mean???

While I liked the McGee and Dornegut scenes, I just abhor that the writers are going back to humiliating Tony again. Must the writers always flatter Ziva and Gibbs and degrade Tony? I'm so sick of it. Tony never gets to be a hero anymore either. Just the usual two - Ziva and Gibbs. It's so disappointing and predictable. It's just sad that once DPB left, Tony gradually lost his skills, no longer got action scenes, and was, and still is, subjected to the humor of humiliation. It's becoming the super Gibbs and his second in command, wonder Ziva show. How boring!

I loved this episode!! I've been so disappointed with the last few shows. I love McGee and am very glad he got to shine in this episode. Did I mention that I LOVE MCGEE!!!!
The bad news is that you've made Ziva lame and Tony a joke. How do you fix this??? Please get back to the old NCIS. It's really been missed!!!!

Like the episode very much. I was sure Ducky was going to step in when Gibbs and Tony strong armed the boy in autopsy. Didn't see the gay thing coming but handled well. I like Dornagan and I hope he has a recurring role. I also liked Ducky's summary when he was talking about the incidence of heart attacks in men. The plot line with a pace maker being controlled remotely was deliciously sinister. Tony seems a little too desperate for my taste - I wish they would tone that down a bit.

I absolutely love to watch NCIS; BUT, I don't need to be "entertained" by a homosexual. Certainly hope this guy's sexual orientation doesn't become part of the storyline(s). Not my idea of entertainment. I don't need it, don't like it, etc. This could potentially be a "deal-breaker" for me.

  13. Drina

I thought I am in minority , but then I saw the rating for this episode and realized that ,thank God , I'm not . The lowest for the season. Well, it was clear from promo's first few seconds - we are getting our aging playboy Tony back. I was having Glee flashbacks during the episode. Don't get me wrong, it's not about gay Dorney...it's fine by me, don't really care about his sex life. It's mostly about of low level of "funny" jokes.... Where is Tony who wanted to find love ? Even though I have to say I like storyline. I hope creators will continue the story about arm dealer.

I love this show. I am a huge McGee fan and I loved his rule #1. Never lie to Gibbs. But he didn't have to use it. Loved how Dornaget has a crush for tony and said it had to be Tony to sign it and McGee signs it. Would have loved to have heard/seen a little of Ziva's speech. Liked how they handled the gay issue. All in all great episode. Like always I will rewatch it cuz I did miss some things near the end but I always rewatch them.

I have never watched this show only bits of it because i don't want to see Gibbs hit his on people on the back of the head for a joke. Mark Harmon we know you'er pretty you just don't have to be a complete Ass...

  16. Alisa

i can tell you as far as a heart racing even with a pacemaker: it DOES happen....it happens to my dad...he has a ICD in his chest....i would say, the guy in this eppy, had a BAD one....because it aparently was NOT catching it right.

    alisa

  17. Alisa

i agree on who tptb are turning tony into a JOKE....it's getting old...i want to see the SMART AGENT....the cop that made gibbs WANT him at ncis & ON his team, and what has KEPT him on gibbs' team all these years....joking around to loosen the tension, during a HARD case is 1 thing....but, being the BUTT of everyone's joke is NOT.

i liked how tim handled the probie...and the gay issue....speaking of the probie: where was he sitting in the bullpen?...just wondering.

Having a similar gizmo in my chest I like how they knocked the guy off. I find it an amazing bit of technology that the device can be regulated like it is. Yes, 400 beats per minute is fast, they put mine in because my resting heart rate was 175 beats a minute.
Good episode all around, though I too would like to have seen a snippet of the speech using her "ineresting" use of our language.

  19. DeAnn

I am with DCB, in that because I worked as a nurse, I, too wondered why any medical device company would manufacture a pacemaker that could ramp up to 400 beats per minute when that would kill the patient...it just doesn't make sense. Still, it was an entertaining episode, and I am apparently the only one who found Dornegat annoying as heck, because he seemed so stupid and totally clueless as to what it takes to be a field agent...he just doesn't seem to have any special skills or talents to bring to the team, and he's not handsome or good looking enough to pull it off on charm, so I would rather that he not become a regular on the show. I would LOVE it if Jamie Lee Curtis did become a regular, because she's a delightful actress, but not this bungling gay guy.(And no, I am not a homophobe, I have several gay friends, I just don't see the point of this character)

I would have liked to see a closing scene where Tony finds out that the girl he lusted after during this case turned out to be a Russian agent; that would have made him go limp.

Meanwhile, exactly how old was the guy who was hired to hack the pacemaker? He looked about 12.

  21. Intrepid Diver

Good episode overall....I'm a diehard NCIS fan, too. I agree with the comment made about the writer's 'clownish' treatment of Tony's character! He's a great agent, but the writers use him a bit too often as the brunt of their script's jokes. At least do it more in a way that doesn't make him appear at times quite so pathetic!!

Very, very good episode. Dorneget makes a great addition. I would like to see more of Ziva - without Tony - being her old badass self. At least she got a scene with Abby. Everyone on this show does such a good job, but the writers seem to insist on returning Tony to the horny, hateful bully he used to be. I thought for a while he might be allowed to become an adult but it seems we're going backward. If they can't make him someone you can trust, get rid of him. Or get new writers.

Dorneget's being so in awe of Gibbs has got a lot of potential and they are using it well. His being gay had as little impact as the color of his hair, as it should, but I hope Tony doesn't find out quickly. Another person to bully and it could get cruel.

Can't wait for the next show and JLC again.

I liked it it was funny last night I loved Tony's face and he was holding his bag when Gibbs let Dornaget go an not him. and when the guard said he applied for NCIS twice and was turned down and Dornaget said did you fail the physical. now I don't mind Dornaget I like how McGee had his own probie and he sounds like Tony was with him. and does Dornaget have a crush on Tony. I liked the episode I know some fans didn't because of some issues but I don't care about that. I hope they are not replacing any one from team Gibbs. I like the team the way it is. I like if they show Dornaget like Fornell not all the time.

It felt like the first half of a two-parter! But, no???

  25. Mel

Gee,I guess I'm in the minority here, but I didn't enjoy this ep very much. I did like that we were back to a more team dynamic, and Dorneget was very entertaining. I liked his interactions with McGee and Tony, and his fear of Gibbs was a hoot. The Ziva speech B story would have been better if it had actually gone somewhere. But my biggest peeve was with the way they regressed Tony back to S7's overly silly horndog again. They've written Tony as more mature and reflective this season, and it's just sad that they don't get that he can be funny without regressing back to idiot!Tony. I love Tony, and this makes me so sad. I wish the writers would be more consistent with their writing for these characters.
