Exciting episode. I'm happy that Elijah and Klaus survived to die another day. Unfortunately, one, or both, will probably not make it past this season. Klaus and Caroline have a lot of potential as a couple. I can't wait to see where that's going. Bonnie, please become more interesting. I want to like you. You're a witch. That should automatically make you a fascinating character. Stop moping and crying all the time. Have some fun doing some witchy things. The vampires are undead and they're more alive than you are. Cheer up. I predict DELENA finally happens this season. Stefan feels he's no longer right for Elena and even though he doesn't think Damon is either, he sees how much Damon and Elena care for each other. I can see him stepping aside, and Elena finally admitting she has feelings for Damon. As a DELENA fan, at least that's what I hope happens.

I love Elena but she can be cruel and ungrateful at times. She should have really apologized to Damon, who has been nothing but good to her this whole season, instead of just telling him to "get over it." I want Damon and Elena together, but if it does happen she needs to come to him. Maybe Elena can actually do something to help Damon for once. What has she really done for him, since she saved his life during the first season? Yes, she was there for him when he was dying, but Stefan got the cure. On the other hand Damon has saved her life a million times over. He's been there for her, declared his love, sacrificed himself to protect her relationship with Stefan, etc. The writers have done a great job of building up Damon/Elena's friendship/love story this season. But, they've got to make their relationship more equal. It's Elena's turn to be there for Damon and to fight for him.

Wowww, it took me hours to get over the last episode. This episode had one problem and it started with an E and ended with a LENA. I found my chin on the table while watchin her stupidest behavior ever. What happend to that gorgeous girl who`s only itention was to care about people on an anoying level. And now, she didn`t hear at her friend, did what she wants because she knows Elijah for -sorry- five minutes and cared more about him than all the others. And by the way, forget the SE-fanbase who can hope now and also the DE-fanbase who can find the pieces of there hearts on the bottom, but how did she treated Damon.

He told her he loved her for the first time ever and she called it a problem. Okay, i`m okay with this. She maybe loves Stefan more. But now she could be more gentle when you look back what they`d been through. This is the girl who is constantly described as the most compassionate, self-sacrificing character in the history of characters, and she can't drudge up a little compassion for how he might be feeling right now? Even if Damon's feelings weren't reciprocated at all (and we know that they are reciprocated, at least a little bit) her reaction to him dropping the L-bomb would've been cruel. She's supposed to be this immensely sympathetic person, but she's got no regard for his feelings at all here. She could be far gentler. Luckily, he's not really interested in getting chewed out again, and he hangs up after she called him.

This episode was only save by one thing. Damon and Stefan. The brotherly bond is stronger than ever, and watchin Damon giving Stefan back what he wantet most was heartbreakin. Stefan needed his humanity back, and Damon knew if Stefan will go that far. Their wouldn`t be a turnin back for him, either towards Elena nor to his humanity..really love that..but the rest..don`t remind me on that..

I'm sick of Elena mucking up other people's lives... if she had only kept her big mouth shut, then they would have died. Why does it matter that Elijah should live?? She just blows me away. The one person you wish was just a tad smarter and less emotional. Now she has vampire blood on her hands via Bonnie's mom. What a stupid wank.

As for the magical White Oak tree that has re-grown from a seedling, my thoughts keep thinking that somebody would have known the existence of a BIG White Tree in the middle of Mystic Falls somewhere. It's more likely been carved into furniture or town structure pieces.
Therefore, I'm leaning a big Gazebo in the middle of town. Just hock off a piece and you got yourself a convenient Original Slayer weapon. Then again, it is just as likely it was made into a wooden outdoor toilet facility (period base wise).

@Sa'ad702, Hmm, I get the feeling that Esther wasn't going to be sipping on margaritas in Hawaii with the knowledge of having murdered all her kids in the original plan. If it succeeded I doubt she would stayed for long.
As for reset to default ending, it seemed to be a completely plausible narrative tool. After all, by this point in the storyline (book comparison), Elena is not suppose to fall head over heels for Damon. Stefan is not a villain. Damon is not a dog on a leash.
@Fruit Salad, reaction wise, the purpose of placing Elena and Bex together was to portray that Rebekah placed all the blame and her abandonment issues directed towards Elena. In a pseudo-Klaus insane logic, she also blames the lack of a happy endings on Elena.

I'm really annoyed at Elena. She constantly needs to be saved and others have to face the consequences. I'm really sick of it. What's the point in saving Elena anymore? Maybe it's time for her to die and maybe that would be the best for all characters and for TVD.
I love Damon. Elena doesn't deserve him at all. Hopefully the writers will soon give him a love interest who isn't as pathetic and as ungrateful as Elena.

I didn't care much for this ep. It was brutal especially to Bonnie and Abbie. I really felt for her cuz she always gets caught in the cross fire of the vamps and Elena and looses someone because of it. Its wrong. Esther needs to do something and make her human. Bonnie has really become a plot device to show how brutal life can be esp with vamps all around. I hate Damon for what he did. Maybe its time Elena just dies already.
What I find strange is that Esther can't realize that she caused the problem. They didn't have a choice of becoming a predatory species. She wrought the curse on them and as far as I am concerned, SHE should die. The witches incl Bonnie should kill her completely.

I have to admit that as much as I love this show, I am a little bored of Elena. Every episode she needs saving or somewhere along the line someone is sacrificing something to keep her safe. Im also no longer particularly interested in who she ends up with. I was excited to see Stephen go evil and the building up of E/D (even if, eventually its Stephen who she loves) but we are right back to square one again. Enough already.
I love Klaus and Elijah and would have liked to have seen more of those two. Not sad to see the other 2 Original brothers gone as didn't like either of them. I'd quite like to see Klaus and Elijah each having a love interest (big C/T shipper but I have to admit C/K intrigues me).
Alric is killed again. Since its like the 5th/6th time it no longer has any impact. This does have to be the one episode that didn't really interest me - a first for VD. Another long break then - and then how many episodes are left?

So I really am loving the whole Klaroline thing. I really am loving that coupleing. I don't see them being one of those annoying couples but cute because she can out smart his seductive ways. He probs isnt use to that. I'm over Elena. She kisses Damon but wants Stefan back? He hurts her! Has Damon ever done anything to you? They really need to bring something new in or something from season 1 to the show. I LOVE the originals! But maybe shake it up a bit. Like bringing back Katherine. That would shake things up and be a good twist. When Stefan was evil it was better because it was something NEW!

I agree that SE is to Twilight and another reason if ends up with a brother it should be Damon. Its obvious though that SE is winning the battle not the war. Short term SE, long term DE. Its the lame way they chose to temporarily end DE that is so stupid. The brother relationship will always be my personal fave though. What Damon did for Stefan thois just another cop out by the writers. It really does come down to DE. As much as I love the originals, Elijah will always be my favorite. Klaus is interesting around Caroline tho. Never thought Id say that! They have an interesting dynamic and its nice to see him smile. Oh and where the hellz is Katherine? Nina and Daniel have great chemistry and lord knows I don't wanna see any other man fall for E.....I miss Tyler and don't care for Bonnie. The Damon episode 3/15 will be awesome, how couldd it not?

@Gig4528 you hit the nail on the head!!! Delena fans are the overwhelming mahority BUT the DE 'start n stop' is just the most obvious lack of growth. The way the powers that be (tptb) are unable to tell a complete story is ridiculous and makes me want new writers, this Plec woman scares me. Maybe once they cancel Secret Circle Williamson will come back? I'm quite annoyed right now because it seems that whatever is wanted most, they keep from us that much longer. Sure, eventually they'll complete the story but will the main audience wait that long?

The only interesting thing on the show for me now is Klaus and Caroline. Really unexpected match, that's why I'm so excited about it right now. Though I know I will never give up on Stelena deep inside, right now I'm tired of shipping anyone and want just see more scenes with Klaus and Caroline. I love the chemistry between them, no matter how crazy it is. But I love watching bad guys falling in love and showing their better and more gentle side.

I feel so sorry to say that but as some of you already wrote, Elena is getting on my nerves. She's starting to behave exactly like Katherine and that annoys me SO much. Poor Salvatore boys. I mean how can they still love her when she tends to fall for the one she's with right now? She's jealous on Damon's one night stands when she's just pushed him away and even admitted that she always had feeling for Stefan. Hey girl, wake up please, what do you want? Just choose, it's no longer funny, you know. It's not all about you, even though everybody just has to save you in each episode!

I hope Elijah still makes appearances from time to time. He is such a likable character and I look forward to seeing him. I enjoyed the show last night but wish they wouldn't take so many breaks in between. Looking forward to new shows in March.

I really enjoyed this episode. However I am so over the whole "we have to save Elena, protect Elena, all things Elena." No I was not invested in Bonnie's mother, but again harm had to come to some one else to save Elena. I hope the writers use this to develop Bonnie's character some more. She has to be good for something other then popping up when a spell needs to be done.
I hope this is not the last we are going to see of Elijah. I love this character and the show will not be the same without him. At least for the rest of this season. Also loving Rebekah. Would it be bad of me to say I kinda wanted her to kill Elena or at least hurt her really bad.
And last but not least I know that everyone wants Caroline and Taylor to be the end game, but I'm feeling the chemistry between her and Klaus. I'm not saying she has to fall in love with the guy, but a nice fling would be nice.

Also, I'd just like to add that I am sick of having Klaroline shoved down my throat. Am I seriously going to have to put up with it every episode? And really, what was with Klaus sitting there drawing pictures of Caroline? There's romantic and then there's creepy, dude. Am I the only one that remembers when Tyler and Jeremy used to draw? Who wants to bet all this artistic!Klaus rubbish will be forgotten about in a few episodes?
Plus, Klaus is creepy when he's trying to be all nice.

Another wholly disappointing episode. An entire 14 episodes worth of build up just fell apart in the most anti-climactic way possible. Sure, there was a bit of fire and Kol got stabbed but we all knew that Elena wouldn't die and neither would the Originals, and we all sure as hell knew that the Salvatore's would do something idiotic to save their precious Elena.
Alaric getting shot was nothing new because, come on, the guy dies every second episode. I've lost all ability to care about his mortality. Also, how was it that Alaric conveniently missed the giant runic calendar and the mentions of the tree in the cave? Sloppy writing, that's how.
Overall, this episode was boring, predictable and worse still, it made me loathe Stefan and Damon. They have some really messed up morals, not that I didn't know that before, but this episode their actions went beyond contemptible. Flipping a coin to decide the fate of Bonnie and her mom? That's what we call a dick move, ladies and gentlemen.

An innocent woman, a mother, never really interested me until the episode was over and I realized that she had just had her entire life torn to shreds. That was just cruel. I understand why the Salvatores did it, but damnit, they're gonna have to pay for that! Bonnie's helped them out so many times, risked her own life to save Elena, without gaining anything herself - all she asked was that they did not harm anyone. And this is how they repay her? By turning her mother into a vampire?
I do hope it's possible to compose an Aneurism strong enough to blow a vampire's head off.
(I also think it's kinda cool that I've made an entire page at this site. At least Bored Now keeps it nice and short, straight to the point. Hem. I don't. So glad I'm anonymous)
