I liked the scene with Stefan and Elena where he asked her if she had questioned Damon on the death of the medical examiner. The scene where both brothers admit that they love Elena was great. And it is true once the Salvatore brothers get rid of Klaus and make sure Elena is safe, it would be the best for Elena if they left her alone and maybe compelled her to forget so that she could have a normal life. But I for my part am a Delena shipper so I want to see DE happen.
Maybe Katherine has something to do with the murder of the council members? Does anyone else have the feeling that Katherine is attending the ball with the brothers and not Elena? Although I would rather want Elena to be there so that we could have the third epic delena dancing scene;-)

I liked the episode! To watch Caroline lose her father was heart-wrenching. But to be honest I completely understand Bill's decision. Even if I had the choice I would never want to be a vampire and to live forever. The Tatia story was interesting. The return of the Original's mother wasn't surprising to me because the preview for the next episode was on YT even before that episode had aired. So I already knew that she was in the coffin.
If you think about this murderer for a second, shouldn't it be considered that the killer is supernatural? Yhink about it, both Bill and RIc know how to deal with vampires and to be on their guard all the time, so would a human be able to attack them without that Bill and Ric getting at least a glimse of who it was. And everybody hasn't been invited into the Gilbert house, so it's either Tyler och Kat. Just a thought...

this week was seriously boring! There was just too much going on - the story line with the Alaric, then Caroline's father being staked and their goodbye and then the dinner party AND then the OR (Origninal reunion..) There was so much going on my emotions couldn't decide whether now I should cry with Caroline, laugh at the Salvatore & O-Brothers dinner talk (especially Stefan all pissed and Damon trying to kiss the O-Asses..), be afraid whether Alaric's ring is workin or decide what I think about Matt&Elena... oh dear. too much, and nothing too good, I think, it was a little boing!

I forget to mention the little speech of Caroline's father about death and humanity. It was nice to have at least SOMEONE left who waved the "normal people" flag ;-)

Wow. Accola and Coleman made me almost forgot about the handsome Dinnerparty. What a great, great episode of Caroline and her father. Fantastic!
And I have to admit: I like the way the writers use Matt now. He doesn't have any story, sure, but just like in the episode of Caroline's birthday/death party the boy's there for them when the supernatural girls need a (human) friend. I really like that!
What I don't like AT ALL is vulnerable Klaus. On the other hand, when his siblings really leave him, he'd be back to very evil, crazy badass :-) Original Mum is now kinda in the way of that... don't know what to think of this development, so I'll wait and see.
But am I the only one thinking that Katherine (for whatever reason) is behind the attacks? C'mon - Elena's fingerprints on the weapon! Elena's fingerprints are Katherine's, why didn't anyone of the characters mention that?

@Jane Doe, it was Kol who spent over 900 year in the coffin, Finn just 500 years if i'm correct. Probably he was locked up in the coffin because he was in love with Katherine.

February 3rd, 2012 5:34 AM
One problem though: wasn't Finn supposed to have a relationship w/ Katherine? How is that possible if he's been in that coffin for the last 900 years? Katherine was born in the 15th century if I'm not mistaken. Maybe they changed the story. After all Elijah and Klaus were supposedly in love w/ the Original Petrova already (more Elijah than Klaus by the way Klaus talked during dinner; plus, Klaus doesn't seem too fond of the doppelgangers, Elijah is the one that goes gaga everytime he sees Elena), one more brother would have been over the top. And I honestly don't think they'll show the original Petrova. There are too many characters on this show as it is and they're already shoving Elena in EVERY SINGLE SCENE, I don't need 3 Dobrevs on my screen.

I loved Klaus during dinner. Dude is such a troll! hahaha
And I also loved that Elijah and Klaus understood what Damon and Stefan can't: family is the most important thing in life, 2 brothers shouldn't come to blows just b/c a silly girl can't seem to decide which one of them she wants.
Also, kudos to Candice Accola! This is the second time she makes me cry. Great performance by her and Jack Coleman!
ALso I am pretty sure LJ set up BOOK DE(not the tv show trainwreck) as something that overcomes destiny and beats everything despite the obstacles. I am pretty sure the letter she wrote talked about publishers not liking DE, wanting it to be more like twilight and hiring ghost writer so they could write in a lot of book SE and trimm down DE.
Book Elena and Book Damon are perfect for each other. Its not some destined "fantasy girly love". It is natural an realistic relationship that formed and grew.
Not that Elena should ever chose. Book Elena is powerful independent and awesome woman. She could have both or neither and she would have every right for that because she defines herself. Book Elena is someone who UNITES brothers, binding her just to one relationship or pairing would be degrading her character.
Tv show elena on other hand should just get decapitated already and get the hell away from the show so I don't have to suffer through her.
They let LJ go because she sold her rights in the beginning and honestly she was making Elena look bad by kissing two guys and being selfish.
How in the hell would making Elena BE independent awesome woman not bound nor defined by relationships(aka how LJ set herup) make her "look bad"?
I for sure would take that elena over the sexist version cardboard of tv show.
Seriously

@booklover.. Not to sound rude but you need to get your facts straight... They let LJ go because she sold her rights in the beginning and honestly she was making Elena look bad by kissing two guys and being selfish. Also she wrote two letters so you do not know who she wanted because I can post the letter on how theses last books that are coming out she wants Bamon ... Plus she wrote most of Phantom and the ghost writer cleaned it up.
This show would not make sense if they did not end it with Stelena like LJ wanted as she said before there is nobody else for Stefan besides Elena. It is ridiculous to think just becaus one brother is so hot and funny he deserves Elena. He would never have her heart fully and is that what we want for Damon?
Are you serious? This is not Days of our lives. Remember Vicky, Anna, Mayor Lockwood, Jenna, Jules, John, Mason, Isobel, Bonnie's grandma? No? That's because they're all DEAD.
Vicky and Anna reappeared as ghosts.
Jenna John mason and Isobel(did they EVEN GRIEVE for them? Nope) got written out and forgotten by the world
The only death that somewhat counted was Bonnie's grandma's.
Otherwise:
1) If character gets killed he revives through ridiculous plot means like rings.
2) if he does not revive he is turned.
3) If he is not turned or revived he become ghost and returns.
4) if he does neither of those and actually dies then no one ever mentions him again and nothing changes in the show.
Extras die all the way. Anyone named who stayed for longer gets ridiculous amounts of plot armor.

@bored now..
I`d read your silly comments every week. You must be really
alone that you watch a TV-show you obviously don`t like.
Don`t you have anything else to do, than being upset about
every storyline and character there?
Hope you`ll find as soon as possible something different
than watchin TVD..very soon
By the way..The bromances rock.. Love every second
with Damon and Stefan + Klaus and Elijah..
Woooooowwww..
Also congratulations TVD - you just made everything since Ordinary People episode FRIGGIN COMPLETELY POINTLESS again.
Nothing in this show has advanced in terms of plots or characters.
Season three has been TVD aimlessly wandering around with no sense of direction, picking up random out of nowhere plotlines and then dropping them and somehow returning to exactly where it started.
Season of Originals? More like Season of Filler Episodes.
ALso congrats TVD, I can't take Klaus seriously as villain after this even more. I guess this show will go out till the end without ever getting a real complex villain who is VILLAIN and EVIL and not some misguided crybaby.
- The final coffin makes no sense. Oh well not that the twists in this show made sense.
- Elena is annoying. She gets stuffed into every scene making every possible scene as boring and as bland as possible.
- Meredith plotline drags on and is pointless.
- Klaus family story is boring and was pointless.
- Of course Bill did not die, no one dies in this show.
The GOOD:
- Caroline scenes.
Overall yet another empty pointless episode.

Each week I find myself caring less and less about Damon/Elena and Stefan/Elena and just hoping that at the end the renewed brotherly bond between Damon and Stefan is not broken - the bond between siblings is far more important than a girl
Also, the looking forward to more Originals, the scene between Klaus and his mother was great, Joesph Morgan was brilliant again.
Iagree
