He saved MATT from Phsyco Kol, so it is a good thing that he lashed out.
And WOW was Elena a bitch to him at the end -
Damon: I am mad at you because I love you...
Elena: Well, maybe that is the problem...
Ouch!!! I like Elena but this time she was a nasty girl. So good on Damon for sleeping with Rebeka!
OW was awsome, best part of the episode.

At this point Damon is pretty much carrying the entire show. The only reason I and everyone I know (and I know many people) watch this show is to eventually see Elena wise up and realize that Damon is the one she truly needs to be with. If a vampire takes its strongest human trait (ie, Elijah with his honor) then Damon's strongest trait is his ability to love. He loved Katerina too much...and now may be loving Elena too much...but I have hopes that she will eventually get over it. Who doesn't want a man to try to take care of her? He just needs to let go of the control issue. She isn't going to be controlled, she is 18. It is kind of her job to rebel. Well, to conclude my rant, I hope the writers stay true to Damon's character on March 15.

I am looking forward to this episode. Damon has always been a fascinating character to me, and it would be cool to learn more about his past. He's a very dark, complex and very passionate person. And if we have even less Elena in the episode that we usually get then it will be an episode full of win for me.

Honestly, can't they find clothes to fit him? I know he is thin but surely they have tailors in Geogia. The sleeves of that tux are too long and the jacket too big. His body is much too gorgeous to hide.

Of course, this long wait is common sense given the little time to make an episode. I think on a regular basis Buffy had only two weeks of timing to film principal production between 2nd & 3rd units. Even Joss Whedan said that he slept in Buffy's bed on those long shifts, lol. Same goes to TVD I assume.
Anyways, can't wait for this episode as well. Loved the season 1 flashbacks.

I agree with Annie! Its one of the reasons he's so popular...and one of the reasons the tragic character will get Elena in the end.

Um after the episode they just gave us, I don't trust Julie Plec with Damon's birth and rebirth one bit. Kevin Williamson please come back and fix this.
I am not sure even he could help now. Considering he is apparently content with how Plec handles it and considering his current show, Secret Circle is not better than this...
Let's also not forget that KW is also capable of majorly failing at writing if we take his previous show, "The Hidden Palms" that even CW(EVEN CW) canceled mid season, as example.

Looking forward to it! While I would love a new episode each week I can make it 1 month, I was thinking it would be 2 months before we got new episodes so we get a new one next week then it is off for a month as I am sure March 15 will be the first epi back

I read all comments for TVD on this site and linger daily. I've never posted before. Usually, BORED NOW drives me freakin crazy. Sometimes to the point where I skip over their comments. (Sorry, but I figure you're usually saying Elena/Bella Cardboard, Stefan/Edward, Caroline is a goddess, etc). However, that last comment that you said I completely agree with. This is one of the only websites that lets people voice their opinions. Many are moderated to the point that if the moderator disagrees with who you're shipping or doesn't like your opinion, you'll be deleted. Thumbs up for TVFanatic..
On another note, these flashback episodes get hyped up quite a bit. Wonder how it'll be..

I can't believe it, few days ago I was thinking that we've saw flashbacks about Stefan's past and I've wished to be able to see Damon's and now i find out that there is an episode that it will fulfill my wishes.I'm so excited i can't wait till 15th march and by the way with all my love for the other characters but Damon Salvatore is my favorite character and he is indeed the heart and soul of The Vampire Diaries.:)

March 15th is way too long,it would be nice to see damon's flashback since we have never seen one,it was only when he was human and after he turned into a vampire.Its obvious that kol and damon meet in 1912 since kol is daggared for only a century.

Okay, come on guys, the only reason Damon makes "rash, reckless" decisions is when someone has broken his heart or made him feel worthless.
Which is basically almost everyone almost all the time.
He's a tragic character, and that's that.

Yey! I was just asking to get a flashback episode and I got it! It'll be fun to watch the old Damon develope in what he is today. Come to think about it, we nearly don't know that much about him.

I thought it was just a 2 week hiatus (not airing 23 and 1 march!) Probably he will get kidnapped or something and he will start to remember things! Or Sage will appear and start to get into the past! As we remember he was kind when Lexie arrived and left to not watch Stefan being all hot and bloody!
As of he knowing Kol, wasn't Kol daggered for 500 years or am I mistaken!?

I love this show but am concerned that this site is one of the few that doesn't request for civil comments or give us an opportunity to flag hurtful comments.
"this site" so far has been one of the most thoughtful and civil tvd fanbases on the net. Why? Because every opinion is welcome as long as that opinion is well argumented. Hurtful or offensive comments are always dealt with so far.
Let me say this: just because you do not like what someone things, it does not mean that person's opinion is somehow "lower" or suddenly hurtful and should disappear.
The tvd fanbase on this site lives on because everyone says what they think and backs it up with arguments. Thats called democracy.

Then I discovered other better sites with sane fans. May be fans stuck here should check out better sites that will help them connect with other people who love the show just like them and can offer constructive contributions.

Wow! Vampire diaries show is just so so adorable nd i think its stefan who makes it be so.i admit damon also gives the show some action but i cnt imagine a vampire diaries with out steeeefaaan.
