Cassidy Freeman Teases "Life-Changing Surprise" for Sage on The Vampire Diaries

by at . Comments

Sage delivered a pair of shocks to Damon on last week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, first showing up in Mystic Falls after a century away, and then turning on him by burning down the town bridge.

But the unexpected tables will turn on this ancient blood sucker tonight, Cassidy Freeman told me over the phone.

"Sage has a big surprise coming," the actress teased of events ahead on "The Murder of One." "And it's definitely life-changing."

A Returning Sage

Freeman couldn't divulge many details, of course, but she did confirm Sage will come face-to-face with Finn this week, along his disapproving siblings, including a returning Klaus.

What exactly is the problem these Originals have with the redhead?

"Imagine your brother's high school girlfriend," Freeman explained. "Except it's not high school. You're a vampire and you live forever. To Klaus and Rebekah, Sage isn't good enough to be with Finn. They're full of animosity, there's a lack of respect all around."

Look for the Originals' storyline to "come to a head" by the end of the hour, as well, Freeman previewed.

What role might Sage play in their fate? It's unknown if the character will be back when The Vampire Diaries returns on April 19, but Freeman says  she'll try to have the most fun she can in the meantime.

"She's 900 years old. She accepts that this is the way it is. She doesn't think anything is gonna change any time soon, so her M.O. is to have a really good time, to live life to the fullest."

And maybe offer Elena some advice before she departs? I asked Freeman what Sage might say to this confused teen, stuck between two attractive vampires.

"She'd tell her to get over it," the actress said. "Just get over it and get in the shower with them!"

I finally figured out that Sage was nothing but a problem in the way for the mystery hunting but it's a good thing that she was done for in last week's episode with Finn. I wonder what big events will come up in the next episode. => =|

I don't think finn dies, there are some vids with BTS from ep 19 and finn's stll there. think none of the originals dies tonight. probably be Sage. or abby. or jamie. don't know. and I don't really care, the storylines are getting worse!!

She becomes human.

Amie

Well, if Sage is the one who ends up killing Finn..now that would be a good twist..

@Bored Now: Well, you would know a thing or two about predictability, given your practically word-for-same-word comments on every single TVD post.

Vampire Diaries Quotes

You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena.

Damon

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
