Game of Thrones Sets DVD Sales Record

This just in: people really like Game of Thrones.

Sales for the first season DVD have set a record for HBO, as 350,000 copies were sold in the first week of the March 6 release. That's a higher seven-day tally than any in network history, which includes such long-running hits as The Sopranos, Sex and the City and True Blood.

This bodes very well for season two, of course, which debuts on April 1. Already a smash for HBO after just 10 episodes, many new viewers are catching up and preparing to enter Westeros next month.
