Hawaii Five-0 Spoilers: The Return of McGarrett and More!

at . Comments

Following the news that Alex O'Loughlin would be checking into rehab to deal with a reliance on prescription pain pills, many Hawaii Five-0 fans are naturally wondering just how long we'll go without Steve McGarrett on our small screens.

Fortunately, William Keck of TV Guide Magazine has the answer.

McGarrett on the Prowl

O'Loughlin will only be absent from one full Hawaii Five-0 episode, as outlined below in a rundown of what viewers can expect over the final set of season two installments:

April 9: McGarrett appears briefly, leaving a letter to Danno explaining that he's "off to find the real Shelburne," executive producer Peter Lenkov says.

April 30: It's the NCIS: Los Angeles crossover - with Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J, but without any sighting of O'Loughlin as McGarrett.

May 7: McGarrett is back! And he'll have tossed Wo-Fat in prison during his time away.

May 14: On the Hawaii Five-0 season finale, viewers will witness a major death, along with the returns of Terry O'Quinn, Tom Sizemore and William Baldwin.

@lena...Yup Yup!! We got our guy back!!!!!!! I am just so beyond happy that he is doing well. I do still think after these two epis he needs to take alot of time out to get healthy during the summer and come back to us better then ever. That is a really good guess at who dies, that would make alot of sense. I think you are on to something for sure. I want to leave the door open for joe to return whenever steve needs him so I really hope that you are right martinelli!!I really like joe alot and steve needs family. Even if terry o quinn has his own show to come back every once in a while could be doable!

@amazingalex.... I am with you I don't care either who dies it can be Lori, Joe or Fryer I am sure it won't be anyone from our core 4 and it won't be Catherine she just became a season regular,we got a season 3 :) so I gonna be relax and enjoying the last few episodes of the season and specially the last two because my man Alex will be back then YooHoo!!! The title for the finale is "Death in the Family" which was also was the title of the season 10 finale in the first Hawaii Five-O in that episode Chin died and Duke the HPD officer is a real son of the former Chin so maybe it will be him who dies.

As time passes I keep changing my mind about the finale. I think Joe won't be killed after all. He'll be back, bringing trouble and Wo Fat with him. We are going to witness some bad guy chasing, shooting etc. The truth has the habit of revealing itself but I guess we still have to wait to find out the whole truth.

@martinelli..I know you will. I wish I was excited for the crossover but I dont watch ncis la so I am a bit confused about the whole thing. I will watch it though. I of course am more excited for 2.22 and 2.23 cause I get my alex back. :) Then he can have the whole summer to rest.

@amazingalex - I am going to post it as soon as I find something. I'm more interested in the crossover than in the season finale ... strange, isn't it? As an NCIS LA & H50 fan, for me the crossover is a unique opportunity and a great pleasure.

@martinelli...I will keep checking your blog for the first images of alex. I know you will get them on there first!!! :) Once I heard alex is back for the last two epis I stopped caring who dies. I just want the team of four together again.(I am quite sure it is not one of them who dies) Other then that it wont really matter who it is. If is is joe I will be sad though, but we shall see.

@amazingalex - Yeah, I know what you mean. I guess even if she's not killed, after the season finale she is history. I see no reason to bring her back.

@martinelli..you know what I mean, just that it could be put to rest finally. But I am starting to think more and more it is someone else. I actually dont really even care anymore cause alex is back and that is all that I need, ha ha! I just want him happy and healthy. I cannot wait to see 2.22. Now that we know we have season 3 I am just enjoying everything about H50 and so happy for the cast that it is returning. @lena...when those stills come out for 2.22 you wont be able to wipe the smile off my face. I am with you on that one!!

@amazingalex - there are no lose ends regarding Lori. She resigned, she's gone and that's all. No one mentioned her since, which means they are not in touch with her. I don't think she's going to be mentioned again, let alone appear in the show.

@Lena - I can't wait for the picture of Alex either but let's not forget that this is a long process, needs time. Most likely (my opinion) we won't see the changes sooner than season 3.
