@Lena,
Thanks for the information, I had not seen that, so I was pleasantly surprised.. Also, thanks for keeping me on my toes, I appreciate the honest feedback.
As for Kaleo, I know/knew it was his brother that robbed the van, but I thought it was convenient that it "happened" to be Kaleo's brother, thus giving them a reason to see him again on the same episode Mary came back.
@Jim: They went to see Kaleo because his brother was involved in the crime...it was Kaleo's brother who hijacked the diamonds and killed the two cops. Fryer was better...not so over the top as the last time. I really like Mary...and the contrasts between her and Steve. It was funny to have Danny and Steve in a scene and to have Steve oblivious to Danny and focused on Mary. I hope she comes back a few times next season...and not always in trouble. I didn't know what to expect with Ed Asner's role...but I thought he did a wonderful job. I was very surprised at the end. Good job all around. The writing has improved and the shows are tighter. I just hope that Alex gets well and is back for the finale...

I liked the epy. I must admit to feeling nostalgic already for the loss (upcoming) of Steve. I really cannot imagine things without him. :(They did a great job with Asner's character. The only thing I ever saw him was reruns of Mary T Moore, so I guess he's some big star? Anyway I liked that the old guy got the jump on all the young guys. Topsy turvey day :).

Fantastic episode and loved the flashbacks to the original series. Bravo, Ed Asner, and great surprise ending.

Off to work but just want to say that I really enjoyed last nights episode. I found it to be really entertaining and I really liked that in the end ed asners character turned out to be the bad guy afterall. I kind of thought maybe he would be but I let that go and then that final scene had me gasp. Very well done.
I found it odd the scenes that Steve was not in and it made me wonder if he left this episode mid way for treatment after filming some scenes. They dont film in order so it is possible. But other then that I think we finally saw who is second in command at H50 and it is without a doubt danny. He won me over last night and quickly moved up in my faves list for the team. He may have even moved to second place after steve. I thought his humor was a breath of fresh air last night. He was cute with steve when he was sensitive about their friendship.
Overall I liked this episode very much.
Obviously cannot complain about the opening scene. Both looked so handsome!

Another fun new episode! Shirtless Mc-Danno(yum!), Whack-a-doodle Mary shows up (causing chaos as usual!), another fun guest star who actually hangs around for more than five minutes (via flashbacks even!), a car-gu-ment(not the best one ever but they had one)and a case that actually made some sense (compared to some). Great twist @ the ending and we see Steve actually eating something(again!).
The "young officer McGarrett" thing didn't bother me one way or another as it was just sort of a passing comment.
I think with AOL taking some time off we'll have some good Chin/Kono epi's coming, they didn't have a ton to do in this show.
Overall, I really liked it.
Great performance by Ed Asner. Just because the flashbacks were from the original show you can't try and connect the original McGarrett to the new.If you did you would to also connect Danny,Chin, and Kono. Five-0, according to the new show, was created in September 2010. You just have to assume August March was busted by HPD in 1976. Also I believe they went to Kaleo because it was his brother who rammed the police van and was capped by Fryer.Loved the car scenes with Danny's reactions to Steve's driving. Finally Sis has been working for the airline just two weeks (obviously no plug for Hawaiian this week) and she gets the New York-Honolulu run? No way.
@Jim ....Last night CBS televisionstudios has said a few things about this episode before airing "Did you Know" and one of them was this:
{There is a reference in this Monday's episode to a young cop arresting August March, over 30 years ago named McGarrett. This is not the Steve McGarrett played by Jack Lord in the original series. It is actually the current series Steve McGarrett's father Jonh McGarrett played by William Sadler who was a HPD officer in the '70's - '80's.} So I knew what was coming before seeing the ep. The rest of you review is a bit poor nothing much about the episode as a whole! hope next time will be a better one again!
