I'm still not certain Ali is actually dead! she might have faked her own death to escape A!
as to who A actually is. It has to be one of Mona,Melissa or Jeanna.
I really like Mona but after tonights episode she is my number 1 suspect, I was sure Hanna was going to find something on the phone she gave her.

Ok, then he could "only" get in trouble for being with her while being her teacher. I never understood why Ezra didin't get a job at Hollis right when he found out that Aria was his student. If he had left her highschool and quit being her teacher right away, nothing bad would have happened. Sigh. But that would have been boring without any drama. ;)
I would be super shocked if Ezra turned out to be A.

I'm not even the biggest Ezria fan, but I'm so sick of the discussions whether it's okay or not. I don't say they should ride into the sunset and live happily ever after, but Byron's behaviour (and Ella's as well) is just ridiculous. What do they think happens after Ezra's lost his job? That he moves away forever and Aria never sees him again? She's not 5 yrs old. Although I was wondering after this episode, Aria isn't 18 yet. Will Ezra get in trouble for sleeping with her? I'm not familiar with the law in the USA. If so, I think they should have waited until she is of age. It only makes things MORE complicated.

@tati, I wouldn't say that the payoff happened after the arrest just because it was shown afterwards. There is always a scene with A in the end, so you can't really say what happened first.
@Louise, Maya would be hard to explain, that's true. But she could have a history and not be new in town after all. That would be interesting. And she had access to Ali's old things like journals so she could know everything about the liars. I'd love to see Mona be A. And not because she is A in the books, but because she is such an interesting character on the show.

I've thought Alison is alive since the very beginning of the show.
I don't know who A can be but it can't be Mona, Garret, Melissa or Jenna as it would be too obvious and I would be really disappointed.
Can't wait to the last episode but I'm afraid there will be the biggest cliffhanger ever...

Great episode to have before the season finale. I won't get into all the details of the episode since it seems like there are enough discussions of that currently going on. But I'll just say it was a really great combination of suspense, love, friendship, and family. It was just an over-all great episode that has viewers even more excited for the finale next week.

The person who paid off the doll hospital shopkeeper can't be Melissa or Garrett, since the payoff appears to have happened AFTER Garrett's arrest. That should mean that Melissa was busy with the repercussions of that. Loved how she looked at Spencer but, it wasn't the girls who ratted out Garrett--ten cents says that was Jenna or Toby.
As to who A is--one little thing I noticed in the episode where Hannah rescues Jenna--"A" was walking past hedges, with her black glove on--and the way she was moving her hand across the tops of the hedges was a VERY feminine gesture, not masculine. Since Jenna was in the house, it can't have been her, but--at that time, it could have been Melissa. or Mona. or someone else.
Regardless, everything does point to A being more than one person, simply because of the sheer volume of surveillance and access to people's homes/offices/records...

Well,, if it goes by the books, I know who A is. If it's not going by the books, it can be any one of the "likely" suspects.

@S and @R: I think that Byron broke the rules of conduct by having an affair with a student over Ezra. Ezra met Aria after SHE twisted some lies which lead him to believe SHE was age appropriate. After learning the truth, he broke it off and rebuffed her several times. He eventually gave into his feelings, but decided it was best to leave the school she was teaching at in order for them to be together outside of a place where she was not a student, therefore, their relationship would not be violating anything. Byron on the other hand cheated on his wife and made his daughter lie about it for well over a year. He cheated with a student too. Was she above the legal age? Yes. Would it have been just as immoral? Yes. So really, Byron and Ezra both have some faults. I will admit that I'm an Ezria fan, so it makes me bias, but the show is pretty self-explanatory about what has happened between them.

@ S. That's very true about Jenna and the boy, good point. I would like it to be Mona mainly for the fact that they haven't even explored the idea that Mona could be A...it seems like she's the only one they haven't suspected which I think is odd. And it probably won't be her at all. I kinda hope it's Maya, too because I don't like Maya but when you think about it she had opportunity but motive is where I get stumped with her.

Byron's behaviour is just inappropriate. Had an affair with his student and is turning in Ezra now. What a hypocrite. And YES, I know that Meredith wasn't a minor, but still. It's almost the same. And Ella - one minute she says she tries to understand Ezria and the next minute she wants to ship Aria off. Nobody was making a fuss about Jenna and Garret and people who will shout "abuse of authority" in Ezria's case now should really look at Byron's affair. And then Byron's actions aren't justified.

@Louise. it could still be Jenna considering that she isn't blind (any more). Maybe she could see all along and the boy figured it out. And we have to keep in mind that the boy probably lied considering that A gives him a lollipop in the end, probably for lying.
I think people are going to be disappointed if it is Mona. I think the producers said it's not going to be like in the books, but I don't know. It would make sense for Mona to be A in a way. But that doesn't explain why Emily's her (A's) favorite. Almost everybody from the cast said they were shocked when they found out. I really hope it's not going to be lame. And I kind of still hope that it's Maya.
@Lost, I think Ezria were having sex. Marlene King hinted at that a couple of times.

Yeah, Mona's deffinatly involved. And as for page 5. If I remember correctly, page five is the corriners' notes. So it would be talking about any marks on her, the position she was in, any evidence of sexual activity and a swab from under her fingernails. I don't know if it was so much what was said on page 5 that got Garrett arrested, or that Jena told the cops he stoll it and gave it to her. Let's face it. That would make him look pretty guilty!

I still think it's going to be Mona even though they said it won't be the same person as in the books but does it really matter if it is? Are people going to be disappointed if it is Mona? It can't be Melissa, Jenna or Garrett because it's too obvious and the creepy kid did say that the woman who was after Ali had dark hair and wasn't blind which could either be Melissa or Mona. And the text Hanna received from A about Mona and Caleb could easily have been sent by Mona....not to mention the fact that the text started with 'Hey Han', and Mona calls Hanna 'Han'. So it could be Mona??

I've always had a theory that A was a network of people and my friends and I narrowed it down to 6 people: Ian, Garrett, Jena, Mona, Lucas and Noel. But now with Melissa acting suspicious, I'm not too sure. In the books apparently Ali does have a twin sister but A is Mona.
I think what Aria did to her parents was deffonatly low, but I can't help but root for her. Her parents were being totally unfair and her dad is one to talk! Also, did Aria and Ezra acctually have sex or were they just making out? You kind of got the impression from the way they showed it that it might have been a little more than that.
I think Jena could see all along and I'm almost certain she's the mastermind behind A. I mean, why would she lie? Why would she pretend the surgery didn't work if she didn't have something to hide?

Um S - you think that Aria should tell the dean about her father and ruin their family?!! Ok...um, grow up. Aria acted like a teenager throwing a tantrum in this episode. Even Ezra called her on it. Sorry but Ezra was going to get fired eventually. If the school found out about him dating a 16yr old...they would have not allowed him to work there. Period.
I don't think Jason is A...not at all.
I feel more and more like it's a parent. Maybe Alison's mom? Who knows though?
Did anyone else see the "IsJennaA" and "IsMellisaA" on the bottom left hand corner of the screens during the show? I thought that was odd. Are they dropping clues or just another thing to throw off viewers?

Loved this episode! I was at the edge of my seat the whole time.
And I don't care what anyone says... Aria threatening her parents like that was disgusting. Are you really gonna destroy your family's lives over just one guy that it likely won't even last with and you're legally not supposed to be with anyways? What her dad did was wrong, yes, but what she and Ezra are doing is far worse. It's illegal! Her ass is lucky because if I were her parents, I wouldn't retort to getting him fired --- I'd call the police and throw him in jail. Ughh... the nerve. Sorry for the rant lol.

I think A will be revealed to be a number of people with one puppet master. Without going into spoilers they better not make the same person as is A in the books.

i think lucas helped her when they sat at the same table in the first secret episode *lucas has used the word bitch alot aswell he called Ali it in the flashback episode and it was said a very big clue who A is in the episode 'salt meets wound' he calls alison a bitch again and says i should of done worse to her , A uses the word bitch alot in the texts the girls get also the file that dr sullivan had that she thought was A used the word bitch alot as well (mona has used it also ) lucas thinks that the girls are like alison so he decided to get back at them aswell

i think mona and lucas are A together , she admitted to caleb she was jealous of haleb, i think she wanted hannah all to her self and when the girls started hanging out again she was worried shed lose her friend so she started to become A again in the episode were mona has a camp party (ep keep your friends close) she falls out with hannah because she couldnt meet her for shopping an then she 'recieved a text from A' about liposuction to hurt hannah and she also runs her over when it comes to the men in her life noel was seen in a resturant with jenna then a few eps later she is in a fire??

@Sa'ad702, Not necessarily (even though someone still has to die), pll plays in the off season of shows(summer season). That's how Torrey Devito was able to be on Vamp Diaries as well. (and they aren't central characters on this show... yet)
I got the impression Ezria did it in the first episode too, but either way the result is Aria will be preggers. ( I saw that in hopes she won't be)
I still believe A is Jason.
As for Ezra, he kinda has that sibling's look (that casting directors are brilliant at manufacturing) with Ali. I think they are related somehow.
And Ali might have a twin.
