The final line of the episode was even indicative of how the show has been treading water a bit recently: Let's go kill some Originals. We're on board with that battle, Damon. Trust me, I'm excited to see where this all goes. But wasn't that also the mission many weeks ago? Where have we really gone since then? And, honestly, why do they even want to kill the Originals anymore? They aren't even in Mystic Falls, for the most part, and haven't really done much in awhile.
In response to that: They were out of options as Damon and Stefan did not know about there being another white oak tree, thus there was nothing they could do to kill the originals, so that is why it was left alone for awhile but now that they know that there is more white oak the plan was up and running again.
I don't know I guess that the people that are complaining about the show, really are not fans. I have never been disappointed by any episode in 3 seasons.

This episode was just ok. The show is definitely much slower than season 1 and 2. I liked the fact that Stefan finally was able to talk to Elena and get her to help him with his issue and the fact that he actually was able to control himself with blood was awesome! The look on Elena's face was so great and priceless when Stefan fed Meredith blood to save her. Hopefully no more of the back and forth between them and they can finally get back together soon. As far as Sage and Rebeccah, that seemed way too forced and not natural, so kind of stupid.
We are all allowed our opinions, but giving it a 3.4 star Matt..really?
Another great episode! Loved it all! Damon is a smart one, no one can ever say other wise! He always has these plans when something goes wrong he ends up with a, the may have taken this or done that but I have this, which I guess was fitting with his Philanthropist comment.
Sorry Ian I love you but you can not dance, however I still found that whole part up to and included the shower scene sexy.
So glad that Bonnie forgave Elena but I am mad at Abby for leaving, I do not think she will survive on her own.
I loved seeing Jeremy, I hope he comes back.
Kudos to Matt Davis he was really good tonight!
Damon is great, the whole thing with he and Sage on the bridge was great! Then the look on her face when Damon said Finn wanted to die was just priceless, I love it when the Salvatore brothers can get under the skin (so to speak) of those who betray them!
Once again Damon had some of the best lines!!

Overall fans you have to be honest with this seaon and realize that there's been no real progression in the SL. Your evil Villain hasnt caused the chaos we've been hoping for with his hybrid army. Which has been rendered useless. We are going in circles with SLs which is kill originals & Stefan learning to control is blood hunger. Klaus needs to have a bigger plan then just creating hybrids not to be lonely. It should for taking over the world or something bigger then just Elena being a blood bag for the rest of her life. It should be something bigger then them to fight for.

What would of made sense is if Carol picked up on Rebekah asking her questions about a certain tree! If I was Carol a person who knows about vampires & holds a high position as mayor. Didn't pick up on why is this girl asking me about Trees! Carol bringing it to Damons attention would of been more realistic. Plus Rebekah being at events and things shouldn't have raised suspicion! She's been participating in everything since shes come to MFs.
Sages character is a huge disappointment and her motive is lame. There's really not much more to say on her.
Seems like Elena is regreting letting Jeremy go. It seems like shes relied on the wrong man in Alaric.

Hey 'BoredNow'....maybe you should just stop watching. That's a thought. Then you wouldn't be so disappointed every week. Just move on.
Damon was suspicious because she was bugging him and the mayor at the Grill. This was pretty much spelled out by Damon himself.
I think that people don't like episdoes unless they feature Damon and Elena or Caroline and Klaus. That is just silly to me. It's not all about them.
It can't be all hooking up and fighting every single episode.
I'm just hoping that the bond is broken between the Originals because I don't want Elijah to die...sorry but he's the one we HAVE to save!

Elena is so annoying, it's getting hard for me to tolerate her presence on the screen. She always have this sour puss face and she's soooo judgmental. I thought Stefan would burst into tears when Elena caught him with the blood bags. He couldn't distance himself from them fast enough when she was in the same room. I think I can figure out who the writers favor because Caroline and Damon were awesome in this episode. Leave it to Damon to be one step ahead of double crossing lovesick bitches. He definitely learned his lesson from Katherine. And he better mean it when he said let's kill some originals.
Overall this season has been SERIOUSLY mediocre, even worse than the last set of S2 episodes where we had to put up with incredibly horribly written Sacrifice storyline and Elena Swan Gilbert..
Season Three So far is basically a headless chicken. Running around without any purpose, nor direction, nor thought, throwing all the random stuff it can at us, disregarding character development and expecting the show's viewers to live and LIKE dozens of random romantic pairings, instead of character and plot coherence and consistency, which the show locked up somewhere around Masquerade with Katherine and forgot to let out...
Don't let me even start on the ridiculousness that was Bonnie forgiving Elena out of nowhere, without the show exploring how much Elena is hurting her friends NOR even trying to create a character conflict for Elena...
Nor how much of a plot device Abby ended up being, giving nothing to Bonnie's character development. What did we learn? YAY Bonnie has a mother, everyone!......and?...where's the character development for her? Instead they spend most of time offscreen and once her plot device purpose ends Abby leaves.
ughh this episode was such a misogynist mess - starting with sage and going through how it used every female character there.
Ring plot is 2 seasons too late, trainwrecky and filler-ish. Not caring. Its obvious which book story they want, but that does not change how utterly unimpresing, rushed and weak the storyline is.

In my opinion the every single episode except the last two have been amazing. I think their slowly setting up for the finale and trying to build up storylines to end the season with.Like the bridge, which is rumored to come into play with a flashback in the last episode where we go back to the car crash that killed Elena's parents. There's something big happening with that. Also bringing Stefan and Elena to somewhat of an understanding has to be a start to making the love triangle come to a head,
Without Klaus or any romance things just seemed to have fallen flat the last two weeks. I think their trying also to put off the love triangle until the last three episodes or something.
There's too many loose ends to tie up at the moment, and the real action is being saved until the end. There's always a couple of boring episodes around this time anyway.

As far as the Sage plot line goes, I didn't think it was that bad. Sage's 900 year old mystical vampire powers are really just an advanced understanding of how to do that mind and dream manipulation stuff that we've seen seasons 1 and 2. Same idea, older vampire, greater understanding of how to use the powers.
I also thought that Sage's choice of guy made sense. Finn seems more mature than Kol, more approachable than Klaus, more masculine than Rebekah, and more...easy than Elijah. Finn is in repentance and sacrifice mode, which means he probably wasn't exactly a nice guy when Sage came along. There would be enough of the good (and the bad) to attract a powerful female vampire who wants an equal.
The knowing-Finn-is-back thing is kind of a plot hole, but we could assume that if Sage was that in love with Finn she'd be keeping tabs on the original family. She might even have been trying to find and resurrect Finn.
As for Rebekah...where does she usually hang out? Her house, an
