I give this season a B+. While not my favorite season, I haven't been truly disappointed by any episode this season and that includes Ghost World and The Murder of One. Yes, there is no clear direction to where the season is going, but so what? I think it still makes good story lines, even if they are resolved quicker than a season. I like always being in suspense in the show and not knowing a clear direction of what will happen because it makes me curious to watch and see what may happen. I feel like know that they have the bloodline story line, they can try to find out who killed Rose, and also find out if there is a way to prevent the whole bloodline from dying so Klaus can be killed. I for one, am still always still suspenseful for Delena and Stelena as well, although many other people are tired of it. I think the show has potential and shouldn't be bashed because one thing doesn't go the viewers' way.

Sage had potential. They shouldn't have killed her off as she could have been the main antagonist of the next season.
But now we know about the bloodlines, so Klaus is game again. April 16: here we come!

The Originals need to go, or at least keep one of them and pull a Katherine and disappear and then come back like once in a blue moon, but not be a long and exaggerated story line. I'm betting you the only survivors are going to be Elijah and Klaus, with Elijah being the one who turned Rose. Can TVD just lock up Klaus in the tomb or some coffin like what they did with Mikael just to end the story. I do though like that twist about the Original bloodline. It kind of adds more sense as to why Ester wanted to kill her children. However, I just realized that once they kill them, how many vampires will there be? Won't that mean that if Damon and Stefan have any more friends or foes out there, they'll be dead too? Although an interesting twist, it may cause a conflict to future stories and new characters. I hope they have one heck of a good climax in the finale that will hopefully lead to a new villain and new story. I give this season...ehh I'll be partially nice and give it a B- / C.

Season 3 is always the hardest and the long breaks till the next episode don't help, unless the April-May episodes will refresh the season a bit. Seriously, go ahead and kill off Bonnie because she's become useless except to cast spells. I'd like to see how the show will do things without her. And really - that's the story you give Alaric?! An altar ego...okay... What happened to the vampire hunter or his bad-ass self back in season 1. I mean I want him basically in the action of all this Klaus business instead of moping around not knowing what to do except date Meredith and be locked up in his home because of "Bad Alaric." Please TVD, if this is a lead up to making his altar ego self be the villain next season I will be greatly disappointed because it will just destroying his character even more.

haha totally loved the round table. elena is more and more irritating and making the show even worse then it is. i miss epicness of season 1 and 2

I actually think that this season is better than previous two, especially first one. It has drama, and it's fast, and every episode has some new revelation. And I don't think it lacks consistency. I like Alaric's story, I like that they got rid of Finn, and I still like the triangle. They should introduce Petrova doppelganger in season 4, and bring back Katherine, Elijah and Kol. And get rid of Bonnie and Meredith, they are extremely annoying. I'm all for keeping the rest of Originals.

Favourite scene - torture. Creepy and cool. Plus shirtless Damon still managing to make Rebekah feel stupid that she believed he really cared for her in the first place.

Who will I miss most? Suicidal Finn, I guess. Just because he was an Original.

Elena's handbook - "Murder Is Not A Big Deal: How I Fell In Love With Two Guys Who Kill On A Daily Basis (And One Of Them Killed My Brother Once)".

Most interesting takeaway - the bloodline thing. Once again the show found a way to surprise me. It's cool on so many levels. Especially on the level where the whole plan to kill Klaus went straight to the garbage can.

What this show needs which it had in season 1 & 2 were storyline left over from the previous episode. Why can't we see Damon get tortured for more than one episode. Not everyone can save the day in 45 minutes. Also, Bonnie can go.

    * (continued): before the vampies, think there is some interesting stuff there, and will make the show less convoluted (two warring sides). So, my prediction: In the short term, Original Witch Mom will become the new bad guy once its established that probably Klaus, Rebekah and Elijah can't be killed. She is the only character that wants ALL vampires dead. But she too, will probably killed off a third of the way into Season 4, much like Mikael. Que the next big story arc involving Original Werewolves? Hopefully. Cheers.

I haven't had any major problems with the show's plotlines for this season. Granted, it has not been as good as the previous two. But it's been decent enough. The only real issue I've had with this season compared to the others is that there doesn't seem to be a clear direction that this is all going into, a writing-by-numbers game as the seasons roll on. I certainly hope the writers and producers have an end game in mind. One thing I do know though, or at least it's an opinion, is that they can't keep the 'Klaus as enemy' storyline going forever, it will become tedious. So that begs the question, if/when the eventuality is that 2 (possibly 3, still rooting for Elijah) of the Original characters join forces with the good guys, what will the producers then do to get the series back on track in season 4? My personal preference would be to see more prominence given to the werewolf storyline, most probably as the new big bad threat. They are mortal enemies of the vampires, they were around

And I really wanna see how theywill deal withOriginal witch trying yo off her kids now that they know everyone will die.

I would give season three a B+. I yhink theu have been consistent, even though they are dragging with the originals and ESPECIALLY with the love triangle. I think julie isn't incompotent, she knows people are tired of the love triangle so hopefully it will come to an end and not more indecisiveness. I didn't really care too much For the originals but i think since they brought them we could'lve seen more of Kol and Finn. It would'lve been nice to see why they were in the coffins and how it happen and have seen a flashback of the original petrova doppleganger. I Just can't wait to this love triangle is over and she picks Stefan.

Favorite Scene : Matt is the one not boring me in the episode. I keep hoping he will screw up their plan with his excessive staring and when Sage touches him, I thought she's reading him but then he came out and stabbed stabbed stabbed Finn who then burns up to crisp. Matt! I don't know you had it in you!

Missed character gotta be Finn. I don't know why everyone seems to think he was boring. For me, he's the most interesting original with his philosophy and suicidal attitude and he got lovey-dovey with Sage. Aww. How sweet is he!

Elena's Handbook : Guide To Be The Most Hated Lead In A Television Show

Bloodlines thingy are a bit boring because at this time it seems like the writers are just brainstorming around and thought, "Hmm...what kind of Vampirology we need to add to the show? Oh yeah, let's have this bloodline thingy!" Jeremy and dog? What's wrong with that? I gotta go with Elena, unsure with her feelings.

Urm. I feel like we're getting nowhere since the end of Season

  14. Hanna-Mae

I'm tired of people judging this show so harshly this is a great show and I admit that some things have happened in this show that I didn't like but I think the reason for all this slow pace of the show and how everyones saying it's back to square 1 is because Kevin Williamson is busy over at the secret circle and no offense to Julie Plec but Kevin is the brains behind this and I would have to grade this season-B+

  15. Ruthie

I love the bloodline thing,,,enough with Elena and her indicisiveness,,caroline is way better than her,,,someone should nudge Julie Plec before she ruins our show and gets it cancelled....

  16. Jenna

Right now, I'd give this season about a B-, before the winter break it was amallzing, I don't know what happened after that but something's definitely changed. TVD is still my favourite obsession though, and I agree with Allison one of the best in it's genre, once they get that annoying love-triangle out of the way it'll get better. Does anyone else think Elena will end up with Damon come finale? Am I the only person that wants to see Klaus die at the end of this season?

PS: I've given up on arguing with Bored Now, he/she's a brick wall who clearly has no life, by now I could probably write his first comment on the next TVD post word for word.

    Just stop watching.
Oh once there's nothing redeeming about the show I will surely drop it just like around a million of viewers did since s1 premiere. Till then I guess those pesky things as freedom of speech, difference of opinion and debate-based viewpoints will keep bugging people who want to just close their eyes for some reason and ignore the flaws.

  18. Invested In Your Future

.why do you watch this show and the comment on reviews about it?
Because there are things I like in the show and this show used to be good?

You bash it in every single review of every episode.
The word you are looking for is "criticizing". And thats usually what one does when one notices huge glaring flaws the work of fiction has and discusses them backing up his point with arguments, no?

  19. Invested In Your Future

Stefan is "well-adjusted" (ish) again, he realizes the error of his ways!
the problem is....WHAT WAYS? We never seen him go truly bad, kill someone important ,BE EVIL. He stood around angsting for entire season for no reason and now he went back to same old boring mode.

The redeeming part of Stefan's character was his implied dark sides...which we did not really get to see. And no pointless gore in flashbacks does not count as show conveniently excuses it all as not his fault.

  20. Liz

My only problems had been how come every vampire in town can walk into the Salvatore house? Doesn't Elena "own" it so she could be keep safe? It's just frustrates me when obvious things get skipped over just to add drama.

After last night,Nikita for me is now the Best show I watch on the CW.The once almighty Vampire Diaries was my number one show before hand.It has offically become 2nd place....

Sorry but at this point The Zombies from The Walking Dead are a much better threat/Villan then Klaus (SMH).

I really wish they didn't kill off Finn. I know he wanted to die but now that he knew Sage still loved him he wanted to live and frankly learning more about Sage and Finn's past would've been a lot more interesting then a certain triangle that we are all getting tired of!

  23. StakeInUrHeart
    Rank: Guest Star

    1. Favourite Scene: Finn running into Klaus and Becka! He didnt get much of a storyline, It was nice to hear something from him
    2. I was anticipating Sage for a while but ended up hating her! So I'll go with Finn
    3. Elena's Handbook: "How to annoy the crap outta millions!"
    4. The Bloodlines thingy was interesting for me.. Why is Elena admitting her feelings an option, we've known it for a bloody long and excutiating time
    5. C+ .. This season had so much potential, but writers just whiz past characters and storylines, ppl get sent away (Jeremy and Kat), characters have become so annoying (Elena, Stephan and Rebekah as of this ep) and the same crap is regurgitated (Love triangle, killing Klaus, making hybrids, back to square one!).. Everything is forced and has loopholes, its like JP has lost it completely, the show is being ruined.. The originals who were interesting in the beginning are now generic and such a pain to watch! They shoudve developed Sage, Finn, Kol etc.. Compared to S

Last comment, I promise...but @Borednow...why do you watch this show and the comment on reviews about it? Seriously. You bash it in every single review of every episode. Just stop watching. You really don't have to..it's just a TV show. You see that button on your remote...the one that says "power"? Just press it and..poof...off goes the TV and your suffering will end.

Oh: Most interesting takeaway from the episode: the bloodline all dying when an Original is killed, Elena admitting she is unsure about her feelings or Jeremy owning a dog?

Obviously Elena has feeling for Damon...file that under "duh". Who cares if Jeremy has a dog?! But I love the bloodline thing...something that totally makes sense in TVD world AND could drive the plot along!
