Why have them spout how much they hated disco and within seconds be grinning inanely as they joyfully sang and danced to it?!
Pathetic!

I actually really enjoyed this episode as I have the last few... feels like we are returning (a bit) to the first season... remember the first season when every week was a new story but each one felt fresh and well-done so you excused the lack of continuity?... this week felt like that for me.

@AmberH: I miss Carla already! She doesn't whine much and focus more on the episode on hand. Yes, Matt, we're aware that Glee is a mess and come up with storyline without any build-up. Do you really have to mention that on EVERY SINGLE review you wrote? Do you really have to mention the fact that you felt nothing, no sympathy to the kids on EVERY SINGLE review?
And what's wrong with all the kids want to make it in the arts? This is a musical SHOW! You want one of them to become a lawyer, or a crime scene investigator? Really? You're so irritating.

Darn... And here I was hoping last week's refreshing change would become permanent... Well, I'll raise my glass as a welcome back to the land of the negative, I guess. I miss last week already.
Did you even pay attention, really? Mercedes' dad was brought up as a dentist back in season 1! It's not like it's a new thing that the writers are just throwing in. Ugh, there's so much more I want to add but it just won't fit in 1000 characters. Or a PG rating.
Anyways, I thought the episode was great. I'm not a fan of disco and will never be, but I was very entertained by about 90% of this episode. The 10% I didn't like was Finchel-related, because I still think there's an invisible quota of Finchel scenes that the writers feel they must fill and I don't know how many times they can fight and make up before they lose their entire effect as a couple.

I agree with Serenity. I wish Glee would look at other dreams they have besides being in some form of entertainment. I don't know if they are just doing this to make sure that there is some cohesion for the group going into Season 4 (meaning there will be more common threads, plots being able to be intertwine). Puck is the only one who has said that he is going to start his own business when he graduates but everyone else is doing something in the arts.

I don't understand why every single one of the kids has to have some kind of theatre/music scholarship. I mean, fin is a terrible actor! Why can't he just go to college like a normal person and figure out what he wants to do there. It's what everyone else in the world does! Just apply to

I actually doubted that her dad was always a dentist, it's kind of refreshing to see some measure of an attempt at continuity... which makes me wonder if, in britney/brittany she mentioned anything.

Marcedes' dad was identified as a dentist in Throwdown back in season one. Sue went off about how the minority kids probably live in squalor and Marcedes responds that her dad is a dentist.

Oh Glee. I was in a choir with 100 other people who loved to sing in high school but not everyone had that dream of being a star. Most of us just wanted to sing. Same with the theater kids. It's not realistic that they all want to be huge stars, like you said. I knew Mercedes' dad was a dentist. What I don't know is what the point of suddenly throwing Vocal Adrenaline back into the show was. Everything has been about Dalton since they brought Darren onto the show.

Totally agreed! It was pretty evident that Quinn wasn't there at all (as a graduating senior) and now that I think about it, Rory and Sugar were nowhere to be seen either. I had no idea of who out of the cast was actually graduating until I saw the cover of the graduation soundtrack. This episode was better than I expected, but I think as some characters' stories come to a close at WMHS, it's easy to think back to how incredibly innovative and refreshing Glee used to be compared to what it is now.
And let's be real - most high school seniors have no idea what they "want to be when they grow up". There are 1,000 different avenues that any of those kids could take, so I was frustrated watching Will as an educator tell them to figure it out using Saturday Night Fever rather than encouraging them and guiding them along the way. A roundabout way to agree with the fact that Emma & co. should have been having these discussions with these kids long before now. It's frustrating t

i agree with mostly everything that was written here. especially the mercedes part. however, we did learn that her dad was a dentist in a previous season. can't remember which one. i do like recent episodes a lot better than the ones b4 the break
