You are right. To Blair felt that Chuck is lost to her? Remember the beginning of season 4, when Chuck returned from Paris with Eva. What was the reaction of Blair, when Chuck is in seventh heaven with Eve. She carried out a general attack on Eve, and with whom - Serena and Dan!

I totally agree with you. We are on the same page. I am not a fan of Chuck and Blair. I am a big fan of Serena and Dan. But, the enemy of my enemy is my friend! Chuck has done so selfless good deed, that shows how great is his love for Blair! I hope that she will eventually realize it.
@Elisa i agree with you. this is how blair acts toward chuck when reunion is on the horizon. we always see how chuck struggle when she loses blair. blair always have a man by her side when that happens and she knows that he'll always come back and always waiting for her. what i want to see is the other way around. how blair will feel when she realized that chuck's the one who got away and that chuck's no longer waiting for her and that he's not coming back. that's why i agree with some commenters that think chuck and serena start dating. to show that if blair and dan can move on together, so can they.

@Zoran, I am 100% sure that Blair is afraid and confused at the moment, but I really couldn't stand her behaviour. I mean, it's quite obvious that Dan is the new version of Nate in season 2. I said it before, because she did it even with Louis. Every time she thinks she can have a relationship with Chuck, she always runs away from him and chooses the safest option. I understand that she doesn't want to get hurt again, and that's why I firmly believe that she and Chuck absolutely have to be friends again, so they can have a fresh start and be happy for good! I just hope that even the writers will understand that...
@Patience Dan is the reason why the dowry was reinstated. If he didn't send the video in to gossip girl blair wouldn't have been in that predicament.
also chuck running to blair to ask for advice about his mother is warranted since blair was with chuck during the time his fake mother is screwing with him.

Wait, how is it Chuck's fault Blair's marriage went downhill? DAN SENT THE VIDEO TO GOSSIP GIRL! Chuck saved her, once again (Just like he saved her from Russell Thorpe in season 4's finale!) If it wasn't for Chuck, Dan wouldn't have been able to have his little "Princess moment" at the end of the episode, also I thought that Dan was being too overprotective in this episode and I don't like it when Blair accuses Chuck of paying the dowry so that she would sleep with him again. NO BLAIR, CHUCK PAID THE DOWRY TO SET YOU FREE!

No, you overdo do it. I am not a fan of Chuck. But this time Chuck render selfless good deed, paying a dowry of several tens of million dollars, knowing that perhaps Blair does not want him back. It is not true that Chuck cheated with Georgina. Blair's own fault because she was married to Louis. No use, Chuck has done good deed so that nothing can move him.

5) I liked the fact that Serena is becoming quite bitchy. And I also like the interactions between Lola/Nate/Diana. That's the only reason why I'm watching the show, at the moment.
Finally, I'm sorry if I sound childish (I already know that within a few hours, re-reading it, I will absolutely feel silly), but I really am disappointed by the show, and I feel like I have thrown away five years. And it is not just because Chuck and Blair aren't together (I mean, even in season 4 they weren't but I pretty liked it), it's just a mix of things that doesn't make sense to me anymore...

3) I always hated Dan, since the very beginning, but now he's pushing the boundaries. Doubting Chuck's intentions? I mean, if you feel quite threatened by that, this means that your relationship isn't that stable. You should just be grateful, Humphrey, to be able to have that (pathetic) scene at MET. And other pathetic scenes from now to, hopefully, just a few episodes.
4) I didn't like Blair's behaviour. But I haven't like it since the beginning of this season, so... Just find again your brain Blair, because I can't recognize you any more.

Does anyone else feel awkward when watching Dan and Blair kiss? I don't know what it is, but the chemistry feels forced and awkward, in my opinion. Maybe its because I am so used to seeing the heat and passion she has with Chuck. Which, by the way, I don't think she has with Dan, since they had to get drunk to have sex last week. I just can't predict where this is all going. It seems the writers are really into Dair right now, however weird they seem together. And what the hell is Serena's deal? She is going to feel like such a bitch when she realizes Lola is her half sister!

I think you well spotted what was happening around Serena. In previous conflicts between Serena and Blair, Serena is usually easing of, or both broadly accepted the truce. I memorized the two fall events. The first is related to their conflict about going to Yale. Then there has been a night epic fight in front of Dean's house. The epilogue was that Serena gave in. The second relates to their clash in Paris, when Serena was ended in the fountain. The conflict was again about schools, but this time - Columbia. Then they both eased, but my impression is that in the conflicts between Blair and Serena, Serena more easing of.

Before the Chair fans make too big a deal of Chuck paying off the dowry as the sweetest gesture ever - let's remember that he is the reason the dowry was forfeited in the first place, by conspiring with Georgina at the wake.
So he was just correcting a mistake, AND doing something Blair had expressly asked him not to do. It WAS sweet, but don't go overboard.

I almost forgot, I'm also all for a serena/chuck (cherena) romance. I think it be just what gossip girl needs to shake things up and i want chuck and serena both to be happy!
I'm fairly new to posting on the boards, but have been a loyal follower of the show since its very first episode. I think this episode really exemplified why Blair was always afraid of Serena "stealing the spotlight" and basically went bat-crap crazy every time she felt threatened by Serena. For all intents and purposes, Serena is a threat. We clearly saw that she will say one thing, and do another, especially when she feels her control and her status slipping away. Say what you want about Blair, but she's always been very upfront about who she is, and the power positions she seeks, and how she will do anything to get there. Serena is very under-handed, as we saw in this episode...and that quality can really blind side someone. I think we really got to see the validation for all of Blair's past interactions with Serena.

I'm enjoying serenas storyline i think its interesting how shes playing gossip girl cos im wondering how thats going to end , im warming up to lola i had to laugh how serena was all for lola becoming the new it-girl and just when lola thought she was getting the spotlight S sent out that blast loved it. Good to see more of nate whatever hes doing with diana or lola im happy hes getting screentime. happy to see less of blair for now although i do love her its hard to the way shes being, chuck was the sweetest paying her dowry i love chair and im hoping for a reunion but im not too bothered about dair anymore i dont really take interest in them together. overall good episode, hope next weeks is as good as it looks:)

This selfless act of Chuck is completely has overshadowed the kiss between Dan and Blair on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum. Chuck threw a few dozen million dollars, knowing that Blair may not be returned to him. This time we should all congratulate Chuck on the good work that he is done.

I really want to still be a Chair fan as I think that is still where the show's endgame is heading. And I so used to love the couple, so very much. But the Hotel Incident continues to taint that relationship for me.
Chuck did this incredibly sweet thing of paying of the dowry, and I melted for a second, but then my next thought? Once again, however well intentioned, Chuck is involved a transaction that LITERALLY treats Blair as property (that is after all what dowries used to be all about). If it wasn't for the Hotel drama I would have thought that the sweetest gesture, but instead, I'm left feeling uncomfortable once again.
