I wasn't going to comment but I can't help it. Make Dan and Blair feel the pain they've caused everyone else? B is a bitch for rejecting Chuck? WTH! What about Serena sleeping with B's first boyfriend, Nate? Or Chuck popping B's cherry and sleeping with oh let me see, EVERYONE, and professing his love to them while B cried for him. Or the entire group ostracizing Lonely Boy for years so that B was ashamed to show her feelings for him? This show is dumb but frankly it's entertaining. I like the new Chuck better without Blair. I like him a lot actually. Nate is a vacuum as usual. Lola- not as interesting as Charlie. Serena??????? Blair-much better with a heart. Dan-the good guy gets the girl. What up with hating on Rufus and Lily? Who else are they going to get with? Come on!

I have not watched this episode yet, so my comment will not be exhaustive. As for the payment of dowry by Chuck, I have already announced a month ago. Chuck was in the big test, what to do. He had to choose between two evils! If he pay a dowry he will help Blair and Dan are together, and if he does not pay the Blair will be angry. I am not a fan of Chuck but we must now acknowledge that he has done very good deed - to his own detriment! And as to why I continue to watch the series, just to see what will be the end of the season. After the producer gave a interview, and after a dreadful five season, I have no illusions that in the six season of the series to be anything better. The series was completely destroyed in this season, and has started a decline in 3 season. If the 6 season continues with relationship between Blair and Dan, I probably will not continue to watch the series.

I really liked Serena this episode. She was crafty. And the return of Diana Payne was actually pretty good. Liked her exchanges with Nate. What century are we living in that a major theme is a man setting a woman free by paying her dowry? Are you kidding me?

Good to know that Dair can now be out and about together. Loving these two.

but i'm pissed as hell with the writers they're dragging this chuck's real mother SL since season 3 and serena's identity confusion since season 2. they've wasted all those episode with blair's love story instead of trying to develop these characters.

I think the episode is great. Its been a long time since i have this "i can't wait for the next episode" because of its potential excitement! Lola is doing a great job causing dramas.
I'm not sure Serena has ever matured in all these seasons- she may at most time appears to be easy going and always friendly, but once things don't start going her way- she will just pull the worst thing: remember her declaring to take queendom out of B's hand just because those minions bullied that girl version Humphrey in season 2, stealing someone's else husband in season 3, and sending those gossip girl files to Louis' mother because B had a kiss with D who she didn't care for until then in season 4. and now in season 5, acting all pissed because Lola used her, but the thing is, she wasn't wholeheartedly helping Lola either, she was using Lola too.
She always acts like she doesn't care about her popularity, but season 2 finale (when GG called her 'irrelevant') makes it clear that she always alw
after this episode i really feel bad for serena. i know it is her doing why lola is now the sort of it girl but being the it girl is the only thing that she has now. she lost her job, the person she love doesn't love her, her best friend is in love with the boy she loves, her grandma past away, her brother is nowhere to be seen, her mom is busy fighting the con artist. this season is the worst year of her life. but i'm glad she's showing that bitchy side of hers. i've always wanted to see that. i hope she and the real gossip girl will just partner up and wreak havoc in UES. i think that would be awesome.serena is as inside as you can get in the UES.

Blair is really earning that monicker "Despicable B" this season. She is completely over the place. Like somebody said on the forums, you get to see 6 different Blairs in an episode. Chuck did despicable things in the past, and there are things he still does that he shouldn't do, but it seems like Blair is trying to even the score.
Serena was bipolar, but she kinda seemed to have a purpose, that got lost in her last scenes. Maybe she's acting out due to Dair, in the same way Blair has acted out due to Yale in season 2, the miscarriage, etc.
That MET scene was poorly executed. The girls running towards Blair, taking a picture and then leaving felt rehearsed and way too unreal, like if Dan had staged that, even though the show left clear it wasn't staged, and even that feeling felt forced. If they would have been realistic princess Blair or whatever fans, they would have stayed longer to talk with her and ask her things.

Dair are perfect. the Dair scenes are breathtaking... chuck did his best, but it's too late, B has finally moved on, and where i think it was nice she thanked both dan and chuck... it's time for chuck to move on too. Serena hasn't evolved at all, she's SO annoying... i like Lola, I hope Lola pushes S out of the IT girl and S's GG posts backfire in her face.. has she learnt nothing in the past 5 years?! I'm wamring up to Nate/Lola.. they're cute, as for chuck/Diana -- I just hope this storyline hurries up.. we all know she's his mother but they are dragging it out waay too much. Rufly separating breaks my heart... I wonder if Chuck has a new love interest coming soon - it would be great too seem him happy again (hopefully with Eva!!!)

The only reason I watch this show is because I hope Chair will eventually end up together but hey if that doesnt happen I'm happy to enjoy the stupidity of the show.
Now come on people.. this is a TV show if it wasnt completely OTT and irrational then we wouldnt watch it! Yes, Chuck has done some terrible things and became the vilan we all loved to hate, that doesnt mean he shouldnt end up with Blair or whoever for that matter. Why? Because its a TV show for goodness sake, how many shows have you watched where the vilan turns into the hero. Come on!!
As for those calling Blair a whore.. really? I'm pretty sure she's been just as bad as every other charater on the show and in case you havent noticed.. they're all whores!!
Some of you really need a bit of a reality check... this is a TV show!!! It's not real and if it wasnt far fetched and completely OTT you wouldnt be watching it!

Just reading the recap and watching some clips made me so happy I didn't waste too much time with this episode. The way Blair was treating Chuck is unbelievable. Yes, we can all talk about the hotel again, but jeez, at least Chuck was mature enough to mention all the garbage/back-and-forth she has put him through this season--and other stuff in past seasons. He is the one evolving and she is the one devolving. That is probably best for Dan as he likes to feel superior and be self-righteous with his girlfriends, which seems to run in the family. This show is really a wreck!

Also, feeble Blair did not start with Dan and Blair. It started with the arrival of Louis and the whole baby fiasco. Remember, season 4 Blair was very determined to become her own woman and that's when Dair started.

And saying that people who love Dair are no true fans of the show is downright ridiculous.
Dair fans are people who have been watching the show with a different set of mind, with Blair and Dan's interest in our heart rather than the need to see some forced passionate scenes play out. I have been watching Gossip Girl since the beginning, and I love every character. I just believe in character development, I believe in happy, light-hearted relationships. I believe that right now, in the show, there are no two characters that fit so well together like Dan and Blair. If you guys think Blair is "feeble" right now, because for once, she can refuse Chuck then your definition of strength is not to be able to stay away from the man who abused you. You might consider revising your definition.

I thought this episode wasn't terrible just average..I felt so bad for chuck he really deserves love, what he did was selfless and as usual he put blairs feelings before his own.the show should extend the serena/chuck bro/sis dynamic bcuz that would be real good for them seeing how they need friends in their lives who could serve as a distraction from the mess their friends do to them
