Grey's Anatomy Review: The Right To Know

at . Comments

Intensity. This is something that Grey’s Anatomy knows how to bring right through your television screen, doing so once again via "Support System." There were fights, breakdowns, and realizations. So let’s get to the latest review, shall we?

Oh Yes, It’s Ladies Night. The idea of ladies night? Terrific. Watching all the girls try to get out of it? Ehhh. This arc would have been much better if the ladies did actually go out. Not that I didn’t enjoy Teddy showing up with wine and Dirty Dancing (aka the newly single girls favorite move). And Arizona has really grown to be an enjoyable character. The writers have done a great job in making her the type of person you root for all of the time. At least she knew they couldn’t ditch the big sad widow.

Beef With The Chief. Sloan played Chief for the day in Owen’s absence and he became Hardcore Sloan instead of just McSteamy. He knows the rules and he wants to follow them. Gotta say, I wouldn’t mind having Mark become the next Chief. Plus, it gave Eric Dane a chance to light up the screen for more than just a few minutes.

Mark Prepares to Operate

The McDreamys. How cute have Meredith and Derek become? Watching them in the daycare with Zola made me realize that these two characters have grown the most. Remember dark and twisty Meredith? How about the hot hookup during the prom at the hospital while Derek was still married? These were the building blocks of these characters and they have built them up to perfection. Seriously, love them.

Speaking of dark and twisty... Meredith continued to reach out to Yang knowing her situation. It surprises me a bit that Cristina hasn’t confided in her person yet, but saying it out loud makes it real. That can’t be easy.

Have A Right To Know? Oh Cristina, how much hurt can you take? After Owen admitted his one night stand with a woman from the hospital, Cristina begged for the details. Is this really something you want to know? Does this make it any easier or does it just hurt you more? For one thing, it makes it a reality.

The fact that Owen did this because he wanted to hurt Cristina about the abortion is just plain wrong. If you are not happy in your marriage, if you can’t get over something, try to fix it or walk away. Do Not Cheat. There is no excuse, even if it was just for sex.

Xtina Yang

The hour ended with Owen leaving the home he shares with his wife. Is this the end for them or will Cristina take him back?

After Thoughts:

  • Mark Sloan should wear a suit every single day. The man cleans up nice.
  • How hilarious was Owen crashing through the door after Cristina unlocked it? Gotta love Yang’s laugh.
  • Last episode, Lexis was all worried about Mark moving in with Julia. Now, not a word about it. Little Grey needs a solid arc of her own.
  • How cute is Mer helping out the other residents for their boards? Those exams are bound to be intense and who knows if they will all pass.

Overall, another solid episode from Shondaland. The flashbacks through Cristina and Owen’s relationship were a perfect touch to prepare us for the breakdown between the couple. What is to come with these two? Will Cristina take her unfaithful husband back? How many of you with Burke would make an appearance right now in one of his sweet turtlenecks?

So until next time, TV Fanatics. Hit up the comments and let us know what you thought of “Support Systems.” Was the build up of Owen’s affair a let down? Don’t forget to check back later for the official Grey’s Anatomy Round Table. There are only a handful of episodes left. Make your predictions for the end of the season now!

Let me start by saying it is NEVER right to cheat. It is just plain wrong and there is no excuse. But when talking about the entire marriage, Christina hurt Owen big time as well. When they enter their marriage she was not even listening to Owen's point of view. I mean if you dont want kids fine but at least listen to your husband express his feelings. Everyone has a dream when they get married of a perfect marriage no one thinks they will have to make sacrifices of things that are dearly close to them. Owen agreed not to have children but he is a human. People change opinions as time passes. He is allowed to think differently and express his wishes. Christina hurt him and pretends like he should just get over it and not even discuss it with him.
I am a girl and do believe that women have rights over their body and can choose to have an abortion if they want but they were married. The least she could do is consult him and treat him like an equal. She makes all the decisons and always puts her career over her marriage and expects Owen to understand that is the final arrangement. Marriage is about compromise. Owen gave up children which isnt easy or a small compromise. Christina should have been understanding of that. Owen was wrong to cheat but Christina needs to realize that the pain she is feeling right now because of him cheating is very similar to the pain he feels daily of not being able to complete his dream he once imaged for himself.

WTF! NO Teddy is the worst! I hate her so much! her & her dead husband of 3 weeks that she knew for like 5 months. ..I want Owen & Christina to get bk together...I think they will.

I miss Burke SOOO much!! I don't think there's anyone for Cristina but him and I never will.

Bring back Burk!

No o Burke returning.

Liked that episode, it's getting better and better.
Loved the transplantation case, Webber rocks ! He'll always be the real chief, even though Mark was quite good and that was unexpected, and funny !
For once, I was not bored watching Owen and Cristina, but I am so relieved that for a while, they won't talk about this ridiculous storyline anymore. Now we're gonna focus on Cristina as a surgeon, and that's great. As always, Sandra Oh was just impressive and brilliant.
I laughed a lot with everything related to the ladies night, but I was disappointed. I was expecting something friendly and moving from the promo pics, and there was actually nothing. They all really sucked as friends for Teddy, thank god Arizona rose on time. Next week epi looks really emotional, can't wait !

As a woman that has been in Christina's shoes, I know her pain and i know why she wanted he wasn't and, as her wife, she does have that right to know. She was hurt and at least knowing the details allowed her know what kind of man she was living with. Owen was a coward by allowing himself to cheat on Christina and she what she should have done. If he was unhappy, why lie when it is more mature and masculine to admit that it wasn't working. Sorry, like I said, I know her pain and this episode really struck home with me.

Solid episode but it was incredibly painful to watch Cristina and Owen's pain, and it was both of them hurting. It actually hurt to watch it. I had a husband that cheated so I understand how she felt. I didn't find her laughing about "crying over a boy" insulting. It was vintage Cristina being resurrected. Finally!! Shonda tweeted yesterday that she never said Cristina and Owen were over. Just the storyline. My prediction is that they will end up together, Mark will be with Lexie and Karev will end up with Kepner. Think back to the What If epi. Shonda leaves you clues and bread crumbs if you just look for them.

Okay It was an okay Eps. Mark as Chife was awsome LOVED BEEF WITH THE CHIFE!! Mark wow cleans up veryyyyy NICE!Yeah and I wish Lexie would of gottn to see him like that but I thike they might of had her helping the otheres so she wouldnt had to seen him.I wish they would do and eps threw the eyes of lexie and mark that would be AWSOME!!And I do agree with another comment up her Shonda needs to get it together I am kinda sick of seeing Mark and Lexie only on for like all of 10 minutes!! But there are othere places she (Shonda) needs to adress to. Im sick of hear or seeing Christina and Owen Im really over it!!

Oh and McKidd were great last night. The best scene for me was Cristina's hysterical laughter in the bathroom. Her comment was so very Cristina. Her inner surgeon telling her to stop all the emotional crap. After her "boy" comment, Hunt's face became so sad. That scene just said everything about their problems. It's not wrong for her to not want kids and to want to be a great surgeon, but if you're in a partnership where both sides don't feel they have an equal stake, there will be problems. I think in that moment, Owen was reminded again that he will in some ways always come second to surgery. Not that I excuse him for cheating. I just thought he was so sad that night and angry for not being heard during therapy (and he was without a support system), so he acted out of emotion and alcohol. I just hope the chick from the bar doesn't get pregnant.

Grey's Anatomy Season 8 Episode 19 Quotes

I have a right as your wife to know what you did.

Every little kid knows the words to the song. The foot bones connected to the leg bone. The leg bones connected to the knee bone. In med school, you learn it's a little more complicated than that. The songs not wrong. Everything is connected.
